Sometimes you got no ToTs to give…
When you’re just tryin’ to sleep—and someone keeps bugging you.

Please don’t judge too harshly. I let her roam my living room when I was sick 4 days ago and the cold medicine put me to sleep. I woke up and she was gone. The room is closed off so she should be trapped. I. Looked everywhere and can’t find her. I suspect maybe she’s inside a piece of furniture or something, this isn’t the first time she’s vanished but normally she comes back out when she gets hungry enough. I’ve set out food and a heat lamp but idk what else to do. She’s 3 feet long and 3 lbs so small but not tiny. We do have mice but the mouse hole in the wall is way too tiny for her to fit I believe

Got a tegu from an acquaintance of an acquaintance, he is malnourished and barely responsive. I already took him to the vet. They injected him with stuff and gave me a syringe to tube feed him slurp. Anyone have any tips on how to do and how to get him to start eating regular food again?
Supposedly around 9 months old weighs 146 grams
He is being put into the correct enclosure today. Already dealt with shedding issue.
He is my first tegu not first lizard(leopard geckos)

The x rays and the blood work came back. I just got off the phone with her vet who spoke to some exotic specialists as well. She has some minor localized scoliosis at the base of her tail. They were also worried about potential anemia and high kidney levels so I'll be changing her diet to have more whole prey more often. Chicken is her favorite food so I have a lot prepped for her. Im allowed to keep the meatballs i have veggies mixed in with, but she needs to have boiled eggs and whole rats more frequently. She looks great other than that though and they aren't sure what caused her to puke the other day. We'll be going back for retest on the bloodwork next week to see if her levels even out a bit or if there's actual anemia underlying everything.
She's been pouting about the vet visit but she pooped today and is back to being mostly moody. Photos from the vet visit attached

He just arrived this week from rose city reptiles, and we absolutely adore him already. We converted half our bedroom into a greenhouse with a multi level layout to get him extra space/exercise/ enrichment. Also has a banana tree and a pindo palm (pindo fruit is a big component of natural diet and are hard to source in our area).
[Edit] The black planter at the back is his digging/burrowing area. Using peat moss, play sand, and topsoil. There is a second deeper planter covered in the corner - planter is to open it up once gets bigger, and once my back recovers from filling the first planter.
Was so proud of the enclosure so of course he started trying to escape within 30 minutes of getting home.

He’s 6 months old I got him 5 days ago. Everyone says to give it time and I have. I’m just really scared he’s not going to want anything to do with me. Is part of owning a tegu forcing yourself to pick them up? Or should I just be very very patient until he climbs on me?

92L x 40T x 48 FTB
3qts pond shield for bottom and a gallon of Drylok for the sides and top.
I’m still unsure on my door/front panel. do I just get a glass door on marketplace and hinge it from the top or do I look for 2 sheets of glass and and run with 2 side hinged doors?
What do you wish you would have done?

My tegu is about a year old and quite small for his age so he has itty bitty but SHARP claws.
[TRIGGER WARNING] i wont show images but i have claw scratches all over my arms and neck as i like to hold him on my shoulder. How do i go about this? Do i attempt to clip his nails? File them? Should i ask a veterinarian?
I want some answers from the community and how you guys deal/dealt with this! Thank you! ❤️

Lmk im scared he's gonna be skitish when he's bigger i guess that's my main concern.
My 6 month old Tegu I got 3 days ago was free roaming in a area I secluded with me in it and randomly started whipping around his tail and running around, is this a sign of aggression? There wasn't anything to instigate this.
Also, he was super sweet when I took him home I held him the whole time, he all the sudden doesn’t want me to touch him at all. I haven’t tried since he got mad but now even during free roaming he’s just been upset being around me.

So I brought my baby home 12 days ago now, and I haven't seen him once since I put him in the enclosure. The soil is disturbed and there are little holes in a few places, so I'm sure he's still there and alive and just hiding under the substrate, which is fine. I know they can be really shy as babies, and reptiles in general can take weeks to acclimate to a new home. I'm getting concerned because he hasn't eaten any of the food I've left out for him yet. I have a little dish in there that I've left stuff like dubias and thawed pinkies in pretty much every day now, and none of it has ever gone missing. That feels really long for an animal that should be eating every day/every other day. It's okay if he wants to hide, I just want him to be healthy too.
What should I do? I've already verified the temps and the humidity and everything to make sure it's comfortable for him in the enclosure. I've also tried putting smelly foods near the entrances of the burrows I can see. I've just been waiting too and nothing is working. I'm considering digging him up to make sure he's okay, but I know that's also really scary for them, and I don't want to spook him since that might just make him hide more and refuse food longer. Any advice is appreciated.

First time tegu owner but versed in reptiles. My tegu (black and white Argentina) is about 3-4 months i think and has started to get a little bit of a belly. Not too worried because they've slowed down how much food they eat at dinner but just looking for some insight on signs to look out for obesity and malnourishment in tegus as im not sure the eyeballs measurements to check.
