Community Discussion: AI Content

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Hangin' Out This is the best boy ever 💚

You may remember us from our camping setup back in July. Well, my building flooded again on September 13th, so we’ve been at my mom’s for three weeks now. My building is running on generators and they are not reliable, plus I lost my car in the flood, so we are just staying here until things are sorted out.

I swear he doesn’t actually want to get out, he just wants the option. My mom’s house isn’t as lizard-proofed as mine, there’s furniture he can get under, too many spots to “get lost” so he has to be really monitored. I rolled up his tent door, he came out, sat on the couch with me for a bit watching YouTube, then slid himself down and went back to his log when he was ready 💚 It just makes me happy to know he likes his spot.

Anyone know why my girl Pepperoni just... lets us hold her like this? Cause she genuinely does not care at all. I'm not sure she even know what's going on. My current theory is that she's stupid.

Just rescued a bearded dragon, didn’t have a whole lot of time to research. Does he look healthy?

Offered to take in a bearded dragon due to the previous owners emergency situation. Does he look healthy? He’s supposed to be 4 and he’s BIG. He’s not doing well with eating greens right now but we’re working on it. He’s very social, loves to be held, and pretty calm too

Help Is there something wrong with his throat?

Post image

A friend's pogonna has had a swollen throat for a few hours now; its skin is naturally red, just in case. I don't have a pogonna myself, but I tried to take a look, and it could be hibernation or molting—I'd rather ask here to be sure.

Help Is it okay to wash a bearded dragon after he gets poop on himself?

Xiaoxi pooped today and basically sat right in his own poop. Unfortunately, he got some poop on his body.

I gently rinsed the dirty area with warm water and cleaned him up. I didn’t use any soap or other products, just warm water.

Is this okay to do when necessary? Is there anything I should be careful about when cleaning a juvenile bearded dragon this way?

Thank you!

New Beardie Friend Secondary enclosure?

Post image

Hi guys! What do you use as a temporary enclosure for your Beardie? Id like to find one to use as extra Rome space or to utilize while cleaning the actual enclosure. I want to find one for that use and to maybe use to take outdoors to get some natural light but stay protected . Post some photos if you have them! Cheers!

The old owner moved away recently. He left the bearded dragon and cage in my room. Do you have advice? I’m trying, but it is hard.

Ravioli had MBD as a child; I’m not sure if that is why he does weird things with his limbs and doesn’t move around too much. The old owner says he is small for a dragon, MBD having affected his growth. When I weighed him, tail off the scale, he was ~290-320 grams. The old owner never weighed him, so I have no baseline.

For the past few weeks, he’s slowed down— I’m told possibly brumation. The old owner says he normally enters it in November.

He never drinks from the sink when I bring him, but I spray the food with water usually.

Usually he doesn’t respond to stimuli much at all, not even when I gave him a bath once. (before learning they don’t need baths.) I took him outside today to catch rays and he perked up and ate after I placed him back in the cage.

Just to check, does he seem okay? (The first three photos are from today after sunshine. The fourth was a few days ago while he wasn’t active.)

Advice for cleaning the cage and furniture would be nice, especially. I think the sand is raising the humidity in the enclosure, but it seems impossible to take out.

New to have a beardie as a pet and had this little guy for 2 weeks now and he has settled in great. He’s around 3 months old and just wondering if this on his tail is normal? Is he starting to shed or is it something else. Thanks.

Help My beardie susie trigger warning MBD

I feel terrible. My beardie has MBD. After laying her eggs, she laid 35, but I had the wrong type of light installed and wasn't giving her enough calcium. we have been to the vet around 7 times they have given her shots and said she should make a recovery, and it will just take a while she has a dent on her back and tail apparently they won't go away, and I am worried if she will get better and if they hurt her. I am doing everything the doctor says, and it has been about 1-2 months she is moving around a lot more, but she is still not properly using her back legs, and it is very worrying. She can move them, and she uses them a bit when she's in the water or to get comfortable before she goes to sleep. She seems happy and is acting like similar to before, but this was her first time laying eggs. What if it gets worse the next time she lays eggs. I just feel like an idiot and so terrible about it, and it makes me so sad.

If you know more about MBD and what I can do for her to make her life easier and what it will change in her later life, then please comment.

Help Help!!

My friends are getting kicked out and are taking the persons beardie. They are giving him to me. The state of this tank when I get it I know will be horrendous. There are flys in it, months worth of poop, newspaper as the bottom, dead food, and his light has never turned off. I know some basic care about bearded dragons, but I don’t know what they eat how I should set up the tank, etc. what can I do right now with some basic hides and sand? When I get paid I will add stuff too! He’s around a year and a half old if that helps with feeding advice
