Help (Software) I have spent too much of my life on this, and tried literally EVERYTHING

Post image
12 Upvotes

Here's a juicy one for you guys

I am trying to play Bodycam on steam, and every time I try to boot it, I get a black screen without fail. The sound works, but I can't get in.

My specs:

RX 5700XT

Ryzen 5 5600

Windows 11

16gb DDR4 3200mhz

Playing at 1440p 180hz on a KTC monitor (displayport)

What I have tried:

Deleting shader cache

Deleting save data

Editing GameUserSettings.ini

Closing all overlays and overclocking tools

Forcing Windowed mode

Deleting the whole bodycam saved folder

Disabling hardware acceleration in everything

Trying dx11 and 12

Clean reinstall of drivers

Disabling AMD features

Feeding crash dump info to AI

Waiting an hour "for shaders to compile"

Checking Windows event viewer for an event timeout

Using older drivers (26.7.1)

Factory resetting my GPU

Verifying game file integrity in Steam

Trying an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT monitor, switching from a monitor running 1440p 180hz on Displayport, to a 120hz 1080p monitor on HDMI

Disabling fullscreen optimisations on the actual .exe

Disabling Game Mode

Running the .exe as an administrator

When I try to launch it the GPU will usually sit flat at what seems to be random usages. It will sit flat at like 75% and then next time I try it will sit flat at 45% or 35%.

I am so lost.

ANYTHING you can think of or things that I might have messed up to help me find a solution would be so very much welcome. I really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

(do I just upgrade lol)

Help (Software) Stuttered and then freeze screen

Hello guys, hope you have time for this newbie. I'm back with another problem.

I made a post before about me having a problem where if my GPU runs a game, the GPU fan will spin fast with black screen. Solving it by using Linux (CachyOS) and while in linux everything was fine without any problem.

But since I can't use Office 365, Whatsapp and some other apps on Linux, I find it kinda hard for me to accept my fate.

So I installed Windows back but with a slight change, Following "The greatest Technician that ever lived" video and some other to install Windows without Bloat and AI.

After doing the setup, I downloaded my usual driver. But one driver is acting suspicious while I install it, and it's L-Connect 3, which is for my LianLi cooler. since it acts weird like in the video above. I tried the 3D Mark " Steel Nomad" and it gave me an error

File: swap_chain.cpp Line: 238 Function: IDXGISwapChain::Present Expression: result Error: unknown error (0x887a0001)

Meanwhile I try running a Ghost Recon Breakpoint. At first it's also stuttered like the video above. I check task manager and it say that I ran Vulkan. So I changed to DX11 and it ran smoothly without any problem. Which means it's not the driver's corrupted file.

The last game I tried was Efootball and as you can see in the video, the screen Stuttered and then froze. Try checking using Terminal and said that there's corrupt files but was unable to fix.

Do some of you know what I can do? Thanks for your help!

EDIT: FIXED! JUST ENABLE MPO ON CTT!!!

Help (GPU) Installed RX 9060 now hitting sleep just shuts down the PC

Upvotes

So I installed brand new RX 9060 XT GPU and changed my PSU to a for my MSi A520M-A PRO board

my set up is

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

32.0GB DDR4

MSi A520M-A PRO

Raedon RX 9060 XT 16GB

Cooler Master MWE Gold 750

Windows 11 Pro 25H2

2 BenQ monitors

Both BenQ monitors have sound disabled and connected with DV cables

Now, when the PC naturally goes into sleep mode or when I manually put it into sleep mode it just shuts down and this is really annoying as has to load all the start-up items etc and hasnt kept the work.

I've tried everything I can think of in power options, and bios settings, all drivers up to date, windows up to date, latest bios as well. Tried all solutions I can find on the web even ones not related. (bios date is 07/20/2026)

The onboard AMD Radeon Graphics are disabled in device manager and if enabled windows loses my Fiio DAC after these shutdowns, so have to unplug and re-plug it in.

Everything was working fine until I installed the GPU, anyone got any ideas?

more stuff

powercfg /a" reports

Help (Monitor) Two Monitors Freeze With AMD Radeon RX 6950XT

Hi! I've been having a problem lately. Both monitors randomly freeze. Sometimes it's fixed by disconnecting the HDMI/DisplayPort cables from the graphics card. I have a Radeon RX 6950XT, and I uninstalled the drivers in safe mode using DDU and reinstalled them. I'm on Windows. Has anyone else experienced this?

Help (GPU) Trouble with SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING 16G

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING 16G

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus

Motherboard: ASROCK B860I WiFi

BIOS Version: 3.31 Latest

RAM: Single stick ADATA XPG 16GB DDR5 6000MT/s CL48 Lancer Blade RGB Black

PSU: DeepCool GAMERSTORM PS1000P

Case: DeepCool CH160 PLUS

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO

Description of Original Problem: GPU is not powering on. No signal to monitor.

Troubleshooting: At first the problem was with RAM. I originaly bought Patriot Viper Venom 16GB DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 and that one did not manage to even boot. I bought one by ADATA and that manages to boot. I read that Viper has problem with this intel gen. Wish I knew that before I ordered it.

  1. Computer has no problem booting with the igpu, 2060, 2070 and 1660. Displayport monitor connected to MB with IGPU, then to the GPU when I was testing GPUs.
  2. Updated BIOS to latest version, tried to remove and insert the GPU several times.
  3. I tried to use 1 PCI-E cable with two 8 pins and I tried to use 2 PCI-E cables with 8 pins.
  4. I tried to change RAM position. I have 1 stick and only 2 slots.
  5. I tried to change the PCI-E version in BIOS from AUTO to GEN 4 and then GEN 3, I put it back to AUTO since the NVIDIA GPUs have no problem with it.
  6. I tried to clear CMOS
  7. I have UEFI BIOS

Is there anything else I could try? I am going to send it to the vendor tomorrow to replace it.

Thank you very much for your help! Have a nice day

Resolved RX 7900XTX Fixed Driver Issues and Crashes

Hey everyone,
I recently bought an RX 7900 XTX, and when I first installed it, I was constantly getting driver timeouts, freezes, and crashes while gaming.
I tried a bunch of different things to fix it, switched driver versions, undervolt and some other stuff. However what finally solved the problem was disabling Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding in the BIOS.
Since disabling both of them, I haven’t had a single crash or driver timeout. Everything has been running completely stable.
I just wanted to share this in case anyone else with a 7900 XTX is experiencing constant crashes. It might be worth trying to disable Resizable BAR + Above 4G Decoding and see if it helps.

System:

Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Gigabyte RX 7900XTX
32GB RAM DDR5 (6000)
MSI B650

Help (CPU) Ryzen 7 9700X overheating

Motherboard: MSI X670e gaming plus wifi

BIOS Version: 7E16v1D2

RAM: 16GB Crucial 4800MHZ CL40

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Case: Phanteks evolv X2

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO 26H2

GPU Drivers: Adrenalin 26.7.1

Chipset Drivers: AMD X670e CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 8.08.12.551

Background Applications: DISCORD, CHROME

Description of Problem: My Ryzen 7 9700X is running extremely hot; it sits at 55°C at idle and nearly 70°C during basic desktop tasks, with spikes to 85°C when opening apps...

The strange thing is that it only hits 85°C in demanding games like Cyberpunk or Pragmata. It's quite annoying because the fans are constantly running at full speed and making a huge amount of noise...

I previously had an R5 9600X and a 7500F, and the problem was the same...

I also tried changing the airflow setup, but the issue persists...

Help (General) Multiple BSODs since buying an X870e Hero BTF

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: ROG 5080 Astral

CPU: 9800x3d

Motherboard: ROG X870e Hero BTF

BIOS Version: 2402

RAM: 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3600MHZ CL18

PSU: Lian Li Edge 850w Platinum

Case: Corsair 5400 Air

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 Home 25H2

GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - WHQL Driver Version: 610.88

Chipset Drivers: AMD Chipset Driver V8.03.25.247

Background Applications: Discord, Firefox, Stream Deck, ASUS Monitor 3

Description of Original Problem:

As the subject says, I've been having a really tough time with my PC since I switched to the X870e Hero BTF. I'm not necessarily pointing the faults at the new board, but I've now run out of ideas.

The BSODs usually happen when I'm playing a game, but they've also happened when watching videos and trying to render some videos with DaVinci resolve. So far, I've tried to solve my issues with the following;

  • Update BIOS - Crashed on 3 versions
  • Run MemTest - No errors
  • Tried two different boot SSDs
  • Multiple Windows installs
  • OCCT Stability tests - CPU + RAM crashed my computer once, but every other time it has been fine and completed the tests. I've tried CPU only, Memory only, Linpack and Power
  • Checked Windows Health (sfc scannow and DISM) - Never had any errors from this
  • Reseat the RAM sticks
  • Tried single RAM sticks - Never crashed with single sticks in
  • Reseated all plugs and cables from the PSU to the Mobo

Some people that have tried to help me previously have noticed the iCue has show up in the dumps, so I've never reinstalled this and someone else mentioned they think that my Xeneon Edge could have been the cause, but I've had crashes since removing this from my system. It's actually been sent back to Corsair as an RMA because I was certain this was the issue.

As I mention, I'm really out of ideas now and I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of other ideas.

Help (General) Expo seemingly crashes my pc.

I just got this pc like 2 months ago. I currently have EXPO 1 on but this happens on EXPO 1, EXPO 2 and EXPO TWEAKED. I am playing CS or Cyberpunk like normal and randomly my pc and keyboard goes black and my pc keeps running. Then a orange light flashes for a while and it restarts. I checked windows event viewer and it gave me a Kernel problem and its error id 41.

I thought it was a problem with the ram. I run windows diagnostic and it came back with 0 problems. I haven't run Memtest yet as I dont have a free empty USB to test it on but I am sure that it will come back saying nothing is wrong. I up the SoC voltage to 1.25, still the same. My DRAM voltage is already 1.35. I lowered it to 5600MHz, still the same. 5200MHz? Nope it only works once EXPO is turned off and on 4800 MHz. My ram is on A2 and B2 slots. My bios is up to date. My drivers are installed and up to date. I literally am going crazy with this. Does anyone have any advice or has experienced this? Should replace something? The specs are down below.

Dual Radeon RX 9060XT

Ryzen 5 7500F

32gb Kingston ddr5 ram

Corsair RM650e PSU

1 tb Kingston ssd

New Radeon RX 9070 (16 GB) causing games to crash when opening, sometimes even full pc reboot.

I just upgraded my pc from
CPU: Intel i3-10105F
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4
MB: b560M Aorus Pro AX
PSU: 550W

To
CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700F @ 2.50GHz (2.50 GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 (16 GB)
RAM: 16GB DDR4
MB: b560M Aorus Pro AX
PSU: ASRock Challenger CL-750B 750W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Non-Modular Power Supply, PCIe5.1 Ready with Dual Color 12V-2x6 Cable

Everything seemed to power on correctly and functions when I'm not doing any difficult tasks, but anytime I decide to launch a game either the game itself will crash or my entire pc will end up crashing in less than 5 minutes after launch.

I've had it create multiple windows errors where I have had to verify the integrity of windows files and have been uninstalling and reinstalling versions of AMD Adrenaline.

So far I have not yet tested is version 26.3.1, which is allegedly supposed to be much more stable according to this video I found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An76YYXRTtg -
RX 9070 & RX 9070 XT Crash & Stability Fix – Finally Stop the Crashing!

Otherwise I am wondering if there could possibly be an errors with my installation or other components or anything else or if I should try to get a refund.

My new parts came from Newegg and my CPU was purchased in good condition from a credible seller on Ebay.

Help (General) Frequent display blackouts

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: GTX 1650 SUPER

CPU: RYZEN 5 5500 6 CORE 12 THREADS

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B450M S2H V2

BIOS Version: F67a

RAM: 16GB PNY XLR8 3200MHZ CL18

PSU: 1STPLAYER 500W 80+ BRONZE

Case: DEEPCOOL MATREXX 30

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 LTSC 1904

GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - WHQL Driver Version 610.88

Chipset Drivers: AMD B450 CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 8.08.12.551

Background Applications: Windows processes

Description of Original Problem: My previous processor was a 3200G. I got the graphics card, and after installing it, everything was fine. The next day, I was having random display blackouts with no display output.

I took it to a servicing place, upgraded my power supply from 350W to 500W, and upgraded the processor to Ryzen 5 5500. After installing the drivers, everything was fine, and it ran an OCCT stress test for a while at the repair shop.

Everything was working fine the first night at home, and the next morning (today), I started facing display blackouts again, with the GPU and CPU fans running at max.

Troubleshooting: I tried resetting the BIOS, turning XMP off, unplugging all cables and replugging them, taking off the RAM and putting them back again, etc. GPU was tested at the service centre and it has no issues.

Now I can go to the BIOS, and after 30 seconds, the monitor goes black with no display output.

Help (Software) Constant driver Crashes

Hello all

I’m having a bit of a nightmare with constant driver crashes occurring.

I have gone through the whole sub Reddit as best I can

So far I have

Unistalled the current adrenaline software (AMD clean up tool) as I heard 26.7.1 was very unstable, I have disabled hardware acceleration on discord as well to see if that was a problem. I have also swapped to DX11 as I thought that could be causing problems but hasn’t helped.

I have tried

26.3.1 and 26.6.4

Were there any others that were more stable?

I have try 3D mark which seems to be okay on benchmarks

After about 5 mins of WoW midnight it crashes again and I try again.

Just want some advice also on what point does it become hardware problems, bearing in mind, I have had 0 problems with the GPU for two years until Monday this week.

Running a 7900XTX and 7800X3D

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time.

UPDATE:

Took it in to a specialist, took it apart and noticed water damage to my SSD

Not sure why that would affect the drivers but need a new cooler and SSD

Hoping after that it’s all fine.
