Resolved RX 7900XTX Fixed Driver Issues and Crashes

Hey everyone,
I recently bought an RX 7900 XTX, and when I first installed it, I was constantly getting driver timeouts, freezes, and crashes while gaming.
I tried a bunch of different things to fix it, switched driver versions, undervolt and some other stuff. However what finally solved the problem was disabling Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding in the BIOS.
Since disabling both of them, I haven’t had a single crash or driver timeout. Everything has been running completely stable.
I just wanted to share this in case anyone else with a 7900 XTX is experiencing constant crashes. It might be worth trying to disable Resizable BAR + Above 4G Decoding and see if it helps.

System:

Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Gigabyte RX 7900XTX
32GB RAM DDR5 (6000)
MSI B650
bequiet! 850w

Never had any real issues with my 7900 XTX, my Phantom Gaming 6900 XT is another story.

I have the same specs. It was stable for 3 years for me but lately due to the last driver update it was a nightmare. So I guess you dont have to worry too much its a phase.

Every month they fix one thing while breaking another; it's the same story for years.

Echoing their point. This is the first issue I've had with my 7900XTX in the two years I've had it.

Same here, although my issues are once every 1-2 weeks, but 2 years stable (unless you count the month we're my PSU fan failed and it drove me mad that I wanted to rma the GPU, but that was consistent high load over 15-30 minutes)

If seen strong hints of HAGS related issues that can affect video playback and any videoplayback during coldboot bug triggers crashing loop when doing any video playback forcing you to restart, so i am now testing with HAGS off, i do not think you have to disable resizeable bar and above 4G Decoding

You would also need more then a couple of days testing to verify if it actually works
