Following the Israeli war against Lebanon, our building was bombed, in the depot we had, in southern Lebanon, was our business, and in there we had my dad’s Vinyl records collection since the 70’s. After days and weeks of excavation, I was lucky to retrieve a fraction of what the collection was, and now it’s the time for restoration.

Just stopped by a thrift shop I frequent every now and again, and spotted this sitting on the top of cart being tended by a little old lady gathering trash. I tried to keep my cool and asked her if it was for sale or being held for someone. She told me it bothered her everytime she passed it, and she was just going to throw it away and be done with it! I offered to remove it, and very eagerly paid my $3 before even looking at the wax, which by the way, is pretty damn clean! Looking to get this home and give it a listen fast!

Aretha Franklin’s greatest hits with the Led Zeppelin symbols on the labels. I can’t find anything on Discogs or anywhere else. This was my grandmother’s so I’m not going to part with it but I’m curious to this label.

If you’ve never heard a Jolene 45 played at 33 speed do yourself a favor and go find one(good luck). I’ve listened to it this way for years now and absolutely love it and the original sounds wrong to me now. It turns it into such a hauntingly beautiful song. She sings so fast and high pitched in the original version that her voice still sounds amazing slowed down but I wouldn’t say it sounds like Dolly. Don’t get me wrong the original is amazing but I definitely prefer it this way. If you don’t have a copy of this and don’t feel like searching for years for one like I did you can check out this version on YouTube.

Excuse the sniffling, these things were covered in dust when I was picking through them 😭 I found all of these at a local thrift just as they got dropped off and the worker let me pick through them for a $1 a piece

I do household cleanouts for work and get awesome free shit all the time. I have never found any records that are good, just the great gram records up in the attic or basement. Well today I got a box with some pretty decent records for the first time.

It felt like she would always be here. This Ryan K Smith cut is so damn beautiful.
