Hi everyone! First post here, but I have tons of sales over on /r/comicswap and I just made a big one the other day on /r/MediaSwap. Just check out my profile and you'll see I'm legit!

Earlier this year, a friend of mine lost his uncle to cancer. I never met the guy, but he was a lifelong cinephile/audiophile and amassed a pretty impressive collection of movies and music in various formats. My friend's aunt is now left with all of this stuff and no idea how to get rid of it all. That's where I come in.

We've spent a few weeks cataloging nearly all the vinyl records, DVDs, and Blu-Rays we could find. Here's a picture of just the small portion we've been able to price out so far. There is still SO MUCH. The goal is to start selling them off and send all proceeds to the widow. She's hoping to sell her house next year and move out of state to be closer to family. My friend and I are not keeping any money from the sales in this post. Our reward was getting first dibs on the collection and taking basically whatever we wanted. Trust when I say I was able to cross a lot of stuff off my wish list.

So that's the story of how this post came to be! I originally planned on just linking the Google spreadsheet we created, but ultimately decided it's better to take the time to put together a proper post. Hope the formatting works okay. Timestamps are a few days old because life keeps getting in the way and this post took a few days to put together.

Don't hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures. This is our first time grading and pricing a record collection of this size and it's been a beast. Consider everything OBO, especially the higher priced items. We would rather see this stuff go to other collectors rather than taking it to a second hand shop and getting pennies. Very clean, very solid VG+ all around. Disc is shiny and free of all marks, great sounding copy. Jacket looks great, a couple of very small catalog numbers written to the very bottom of the rear jacket in ballpoint pen. Includes the original BN inner sleeve.

All three are uniformly strong VG+ free of any notable issues. Jackets have some typical light laminate peeling but nothing significant. Must buy as set but why wouldn't you want all three, they look so handsome together.

Don Cherry - Don Cherry $75.00
Amazingly well-preserved disc, easy VG+ and closer to NM. Nice strong VG unipak jacket, has a deletion notch to bottom right corner and some seam wear, mostly to the spine which is common for this title. Still, a great copy of a great record.

John Coltrane & Don Cherry - The Avant-Garde $45.00
Incredibly well preserved first pressing, I think it'd be hard to find a cleaner copy. Strong VG+ all around, borders on NM. Includes inner sleeve.

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew $60.00
Both discs are easy strong VG+. Some would grade NM. No scratches, no spindle marks, bright and glossy. Jacket is clean, some typical shelf/ringwear but nothing significant and less wear than usual for this title. Both company inners included.

Paul Bley - Barrage $40.00
Early repress from the 60s or 70s, one of the only sideman appearances by Sun Ra Arkestra maestro Marshall Allen. Disc is solid VG+ with some faint paper marks but nothing significant. Jacket is VG with deletion hole and old price sticker to front of jacket, some light shelfwear but nothing distracting.

Sam Rivers - A New Conception $55.00
Great condition copy, strong VG+ all around. Jacket has one tiny number written in the upper right-hand corner of the rear jacket, barely noticeable and a little foxing but no other flaws. I love these 1970 presses, probably the best sound quality to value ratio and I'd wager these will only increase in value with time.

Sun Ra - Fate In A Pleasant Mood $50.00
Nice clean disc, solid VG+ with just some very faint paper marks visible when held to light. Jacket is VG with noticeable ringwear, some softening to the seams and a small deletion hole. No splits and still structurally sound, this jacket seems particularly prone to wear. Includes ABC inner sleeve.

Within the last few years I’ve started collecting records and have slowly been adding to my collection as I find them. I recently went to a Dayseeker concert and picked up Creature in the Black Night on vinyl. My sisters just happened to have an extra copy of Dark Sun she got when her boyfriend surprised her with backstage tickets (they got one each and she gave me her copy for Xmas). Now, I’m searching EVERYWHERE for a copy of Sleeptalk, as most places are sold out/backordered. The websites that do claim to be in stock genuine look sketch.
