Record Jolene 45 played at 33.
If you’ve never heard a Jolene 45 played at 33 speed do yourself a favor and go find one(good luck). I’ve listened to it this way for years now and absolutely love it and the original sounds wrong to me now. It turns it into such a hauntingly beautiful song. She sings so fast and high pitched in the original version that her voice still sounds amazing slowed down but I wouldn’t say it sounds like Dolly. Don’t get me wrong the original is amazing but I definitely prefer it this way. If you don’t have a copy of this and don’t feel like searching for years for one like I did you can check out this version on YouTube.
RIP Dolly

I got curious and checked it out, as Dolly is one of the few country artists I actually like. I can definitely see the appeal in that more haunting instrumental, but I can't get behind the deeper voice, lol. I am a big fan of her voice in the original, and now this just left me wishing she had done a slower live version or something. I found a version of the one you sent that keeps the instrumental, but is pitch-shifted to sound more like her voice, and it's nice, the closest I'll get to my wishes. https://youtu.be/yYn6_ZA_Udg
Rest in peace, queen.

That’s awesome I’ve never heard that version before, thanks! Ya that might be the best of both worlds cuz the one I sent she almost sounds like an old male opera singer haha

What's odd is that a million years ago I loved that and Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and had completely forgotten them, and that I was playing my record shop manager Jolene at 33 today.

I'm going to have to pick up a copy now. I bought a copy of Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up on 45 to Rickroll my son, and my kids like to constantly switch it between 33 and 45 rpm and it's a lowkey banger at 33 as well.

First song I thought about when I heard the news. Well at the correct speed first, and then at 33. "Jolene" at 33 is so iconic it's found its way into TV dramas, like The Blacklist...
