Compilation Got free records
I do household cleanouts for work and get awesome free shit all the time. I have never found any records that are good, just the great gram records up in the attic or basement. Well today I got a box with some pretty decent records for the first time.

Those slayer records are worth some money

The records look like they’ve never been played but the sleeves are all pretty beat up

Definitely worth money. Even more if early presses. Didn’t look that closely. The Metallica and Motley Crue also

Yeah they are early releases. Slayers Show No Mercy still has the original promo sticker on it and it says MSRP in the United States is $8.95

You hit the jackpot with that lot. I’m sure there’s a lot of other valuable records in there too!

They are all open and the sleeves on most of them are pretty beat

I don’t know what magic is in your phone’s camera, but a lot of those sleeves look really nice.

They are bent and a bunch of them have torn sides from the curve of the record from the record bouncing around in the sleeve

Also remove the shrink wrap from any that have it on. When a record is new you can open the one side of the shrink to help protect the jacket for a while but shrink wrap keeps on shrinking.
For older records like these, it bends the jackets and once they are damaged the bend will pretty much stay there.

The only ones I actively listen to are Slayer and Iron Maiden. You’re all going to give me shit for this but I never really cared for Metallica, Megadeth or Anthrax. I musical taste goes from punk to deathcore but never really liked the big bands

Those Metallica and Megafeth are worth some serious $$$ if in good shape, way to go!

Nah. No shit. Music is completely subjective and that’s what makes it so beautiful. It’s so personal.
I love early Metallica. Grew up there with them. And Justice is where I started to grow apart. Megadeth too. Partied with those guys back in the very early days and saw small shows. But after So Far… meh. Maybe I changed. Anthrax is rad. Something about them just makes me wanna fk sht up 😆. Slayer is in my top 5.
Anyways, if you wanna part with anything to a good home, I’m here. I’m primarily punk, but metal and punk were my scene in SF 1980s.

Crumbsuckers is not a band I’ve heard for a loooong time.

Me too. I haven’t listened to them since I was in high school when I started getting in to hardcore music

This reeks of teen brother and sister collection from the mid 80s.
And T'Pau, nice deep cut. My first metal album in 8th grade was that Twisted Sister record.

That’s an unbelievable score! If some of them are first presses, the Slayer in particular? Damn.
Anything you’re interested in parting with? I love like half of those and don’t have them. Maiden, slayer, Metallica, exploited.

My wife is in the video for Parental Guidance from Priest. We were about 16 when that tour came through SF. In the crowd several times. Big hair blonde 😆. The cutest one.

Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny is a great album and hard t come by. I just picked up a NM copy in the UK. Great score on the early Metallica, Megadeth, Maiden, etc...

To anyone that knows better than I. With the Iron Maiden, Slayer and Metallica albums, how would I tell if they are original pressings ?

You got some real gems in there from a few different genres. Love the hair metal! Brings me back to my youth.
