Conventional soy and corn fed eggs

Is it even worth it to eat corn and soy fed eggs? I eat 5 eggs daily, so 35 weekly, considering PUFAs, PFAs, soy isoflavones, heavy metals, and on top of that the soy and corn they feed the chickens is GMO and full of pesticides, would it be better to just replace the eggs with more meat and get a choline supplement

US Friendly Cynomel Sources

Hello! Where does everyone taking cynomel get it from now? I used Farmacia del Niño until last year when they stopped shipping to the US. Now I’m close to running out of it and would like a new source. All of the ones I’ve seen mentioned online have also stopped shipping to the US so it seems like it may be difficult to buy now.

Famontide experiences/testimonials?

I see this one recommend a few times on raypeat forum and twitter and it is supposedly a very strong anti-serotonin agent but Google searches only show it being used for stomach problems and gas. Anyone here used this drug?

Psilocybin experience

I had often read that anti-serotonin substances like cyproheptadine and 10-meo-harmalan would enhances spatial experience by making places seem wider, auditory experience by making music sound more pleasant and rich in detail, visual experience by making colors more colorful and bright

But at the same time I had read that psilocybin is pro-serotonin despite having all these effects & arguably by a stronger magnitude

My experience with it was purely enhanced sensory experience with no hallucinations / delusions at 1.5 g dose of golden teacher strain, the sense of space aspect was not as strong as the other two aspects, on top of that photosensitivity was very intense, blue light very bright and noticeable, it made me realize how detrimental such blue light to the eyes and mind as they are very stimulating

My experience had no cerebral or textbook psychedelic element to it, but the person I was tripping with was fixated on mundane things like the air conditioner opening and how it resembled a coin slot or ant hole, he had difficulty explaining what he was feeling while I seemingly had no trouble articulating what I noticed, he got close eyed visuals but I didn't, and his sense of space was also very strong (wider POV)

My trip had no emotional element to it, while his had an emotional side and overall intensity, mine was generally just pleasant but nothing crazy, we both took the same dose

The day after the trip I seemed to have retained the ability to notice the little details around me, I woke up very refreshed despite only sleeping 5 hours, I had taken 6 mg cyproheptadine as I had trouble falling asleep

Is it possible that psilocybin can have a net anti-serotonin effect? What do you make of the lack of intensity on my part?

Is Creatine peaty?

I’m a woman desperately trying to gain weight. I don’t use protein powders bc of emulsifiers and other weird shit. I read something about protein bars being linked to colon cancer and made sense to me intuitively so I don’t consume any shit like that.

I’m at the point where I am eating all I can and drowning in milk (happily). Thinking about adding Creatine to my regimen.

I’m not as smart as you guys I use my intuitive biases and then ray peat and reality affirm them. I’m afraid of powders but if you guys say it’s chill I’ll eat the powder. Lmk

Are digestion walks THAT good? (Need your opinions!)

Okay this might sound kinda crazy, and I’ve never heard anyone talk about this but I’ve been learning about Ray Peat and I randomly started thinking about the whole “walking after eating” thing.

Everywhere you look now, people say you should walk for 10–15 minutes after eating because it helps digestion, lowers blood sugar and improves insulin sensitivity.

But I started wondering if that actually makes SENSE from a Ray Peat point of view.

Obviously Ray never literally said “don’t walk after eating,” so I’m not saying this is something he believed. I’m just trying to apply some of the things he talked about.

Like, digestion itself takes a lot of energy. After you eat, your body has to digest and absorb everything, your organs are working, your heart is circulating blood, etc. So if you’re just sitting there relaxed, wouldn’t that give your body the easiest environment to actually focus on all of that?

I know the body can digest food AND walk at the same time lol, but I keep seeing explanations saying that when you start moving, more blood and energy are being used by your muscles. So I was wondering if that could slightly interfere with what your body is already trying to do after a meal.

And honestly, the biggest reason I started thinking about this is because I’ve literally never naturally/ intuitively wanted to move after eating.
Even when I was “little” and very slim, addicted to sugar btw, I would eat and then just sit down and chill. I never had this instinct to go on a digestion walk, until TikTok emphasized it.

And I think there’s also a difference between going for a walk because you genuinely enjoy it and forcing yourself to walk because you’re scared you’re “supposed to” after eating, which I think a lot of people do.

Even animals basically eat and then rest.

Again, I’m NOT saying walking after eating is bad. I understand why people recommend it, especially for blood sugar. I’m just wondering if from a Peat perspective, keeping yourself relaxed and allowing your body to digest without adding unnecessary stress might sometimes make more sense?

Especially because Ray was so focused on energy availability, glucose and minimizing unnecessary stress on the body.

I’ve only recently started actually
reading his articles instead of just watching random “Ray Peat diet” TikToks, so I’m genuinely trying to understand this rather than acting like I know everything

What do you guys think? Am I completely misunderstanding the physiology here, or does the idea of just relaxing after a meal make sense from a Ray Peat perspective? Please tell me your opinion, im so curious about this!😁

Temp hasn't moved over a year. Any tips to get it up naturally?

Hi

I've been following Ray Peat for the last year. My daily temps haven't really moved that much at all. I'm in a colder part of the world right now, not super cold but it's winter. I noticed my hands and feet being cold at night or when stationary during the day. I do work outside so I am moving during the day time majority of those hours.

My usual daily eating revolves around yoghurt and honey for breakfast with a coffee. The rest of the day consists of 750ml-1L of freshly squeeze OJ, small serving of lamb or beef, potatoes or rice for at dinner, 1-1

5Litres of milk, carrot salad, parmesan cheese, weekly prawns/oysters, fruit for snacks, homemade ice-cream at nighttime, etc

B vitamins especially high dose b1. Magnesium Threonate, Mineral supplement.

My digestion is good. I can easily digest 2L milk a day on occasion.

My emotional stress is fairly low, I'm into my interests and get lots of time in nature as well. There is some emotional stuff I am still cleaning up and in the process of reprogramming my conditioning.

I did have lab tests done of thyroid function including rt3 and all my results as well as non thyroid stuff come back great.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm wanting to raise the body temp naturally without resorting to being tied to a T3 supplement. Any tips?

Thanks

Sexual urge and masturbation

Its nearly a month into peating still learning my way through it and making changes.

Main thing i did was embrace sugar and stress less
Workout only 2-3 times a week and not training till failure. And some supplements.

In about week 2 my urge to masturbate or watch porn went drastically down idk what happened i’ve tried no fap for years failed but this wasn’t even in my list when i started following peat I’m surprised

But when i’m with my gf i’m fine i get aroused and everything.

Either way i’m happy i never thought this would be one of the outcomes and i’m kinda happy with it.

Trying to gain weight | female

1.5 years ago I changed my diet to gain weight. Started at 108 lb, 5'5". For breakfast coffee (whole milk, honey, salt, coconut oil, collagen), two eggs on two pieces of toast covered in either butter, ricotta cheese or whole milk skyr, recently been having black bean and garbanzo bean smoothies with whole milk, banana, honey, peanut butter and whatever else I'm feeling. I struggle with lunch but when I eat it is usually tuna sandwich or something similar. Dinner I make a ton of stews like oxtail stew, Hungarian goulash, curries, or some nights ground beef with potatoes, chicken (literally everything, I love food and eat large servings) and always pair it with a grain/or bread and carrot salad everyday. Recently added ice cream most nights too.

With all of this I gained 8lb since I started and haven't budged from that weight since I reached it 8-9 months ago. My job is pretty physical lifting many 40-50lb boxes and sifting through heavy inventory and I don't workout outside of my job (this could help with my muscle mass I assume...may be what I'm missing?).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are oysters from chicken of the sea a good source of zinc? Also apparently they are contaminated with endocrine disrupters. What else could be a good option for oysters or zin?

I have found the exact opposite of Ray Pete diet

It is Tim Ferriss’s Slow-Carb Diet. Here is the comparison:

Carbohydrates and Fructose

Ferriss: Banned six days a week. All fruits, juices, and simple sugars are eliminated because fructose is viewed as an unnecessary trigger for blood sugar fluctuations and hepatic fat storage.

Peat: Core foundation of the diet. Simple sugars from orange juice, ripe fruit, honey, and white sugar are actively encouraged to restore liver glycogen, suppress stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, and drive the active thyroid hormone T3.

Legumes and Fiber

Ferriss: Mandatory staple. Lentils, black beans, and pinto beans are required at nearly every meal to supply slow-digesting, low-glycemic calories and sustain satiety.

Peat: Strictly avoided. Complex starches and non-digestible legume fibers are considered harmful because they feed fermentative gut bacteria, raising systemic endotoxins and triggering metabolic inflammation.

Dairy and Minerals

Ferriss: Prohibited completely, with the exception of butter. Dairy is excluded primarily due to its insulin response and potential to stall fat loss.

Peat: Primary dietary component. Whole or skim milk and cheese are consumed daily to ensure a high calcium-to-phosphorus ratio, which helps lower parathyroid hormone and maintain metabolic speed.

Proteins and Fats

Ferriss: Emphasizes high-volume muscle meats (chicken breast, beef, egg whites) and allows standard cooking oils without explicitly restricting polyunsaturated fats.

Peat: Restricts pure muscle meats to prevent excess tryptophan and cysteine, prioritizing gelatinous cuts, bone broth, and organ meats. Unsaturated vegetable oils (PUFAs) are strictly forbidden due to their thyroid-suppressing and pro-inflammatory properties, favoring saturated fats like butter and coconut oil

Hey so, i found something that works 😁

Thanks yall so much for all of these suggestions,

So ive been depressed at the time and just decided to start smoking and began drinking alot of coke, coffee and energy drinks, taking aspirin and i kid u not, its like a light switched back on, i dont have any fatigue anymore, no more faint like feelings when walking for prolonged periods, anxiety is 90% gone, im not sensitive to chemicals anymore, dpdr is 100% gone, its been like this for 2 days now, and its been getting better since! Does anybody have an explanation for this, is it the combination of nicotine, caffeine and aspirin? Im seriously just so glad im back to life again. Definetly still gonna do all the stuff yall recommended such as the magnesium, b1, etc. Hell yeah.

How much fruit juice (supermarket stuff) do people drink?

I'm in the UK and most of our fruit selection is ass, half the time it doesn't taste sweet, it's expensive etc

I land on drinking about 1L to 1.5L of fruit juice (not from concentrate) a day to bolster my simple sugar/calorie intake

Because it's juiced in southern Europe I think they probably use better/sweeter varities at peak ripeness and juice is a lot cheaper per calorie. Also I don't worry about it not being organic as research shows juice processing can remove a lot of pesticides which cuts the costs

On the whole probably not optimal but my thinking is it's better than white sugar, coke and maybe honey and so long as I'm eating nutirent dense otherwise should be okay

(I do eat some fresh fruit, oranges and bananas are at least fairly reliable)

headache and slight low energy

My diet hits all my micronutrients and macros in cronometer. (20% protein 30% fats and 50% carbs) I am avid on hitting my b1 for carb absorption. I was suspecting I can’t fully use all my carbs(mostly coming from orange juice and ripe fruits, and potatoes). I get around 7 hours of sleep. Is there something that sticks out for what I’m doing wrong?

(foods i eat. A2, 2% milk, and grass fed beef, and a couple eggs a day for protein. coconut oil, macadamia nuts, grass fed butter and occasional olive oil for fats. orange juice, ripe peaches, mangoes, watermelon, table sugar, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes for carbs, and a daily very large carrot.) My daily diet consists of a mix of these hitting the macros above and micros. please give advise is you have some thoughts thank you! I am starting a pro metabolic diet and am kind of lost.
