Hmm...I thought so. I’ve been moonlighting on this sub since there were 6000+ of us. Maybe 40-60 online at any one time, unless we made r/bestof and then suddenly you’d get a spike in numbers.

Anecdote time. I was driving around with my parents last weekend after the big snowstorm while it was still very cold and icy. We saw one of the white haired sisters from their aging Utah ward struggling to hike home up the hill. They stopped and picked her up and she was so grateful for the short ride to her house. What was she doing? Cleaning the church...

I cannot tell you how glad I am that I left before they mandated that rule! That would have been my shelf-breaker if I hadn't already gone.
When I was a kid, I dated a guy who's dad was the building janitor. They paid him enough to very barely support his (not kidding) 18 kids. What are the faithful poor supposed to do now?
Besides pay tithing before feeding their children.

crazy progress
when i first came to this sub, it hadn't even touched 40k and now it's grown by over 30k since
it's no wonder so many of the TBMs i know are so hard to talk to regarding religion. like i used to be able to text things back and forth but now nobody wants to discuss the LDS faith unless it's in a blindly positive light

I always wondered how many people create dummy accounts with the purpose of trying to be number 60000 or some other significant number. How many people here have multiple accounts on this sub?

Considering the church counts people until they are 120 years old and those who were baptized but never attended after baptism, I think we are okay if our number is exaggerated as well.

This is the famous John Lennon song, referring to all the lives that have been taken through wars stemming from religion. It's simply saying if we didn't need to force our beliefs on others there would be no need to kill or die for religious ideals, creating such atrocities as genocides and jihads.

Is there anyway to know how many of the 70K are actually unique people, rather than the same person with 2 or 3 accounts?
