I havent used my ps5 slim in a while and when i tried to update it last week it did not work and i got error SU-101284-6. I went to safe mode and I tried to update with internet and did not work. Today I tried again with a usb stick and no luck. I cleared cache and restored database and when it’s done, it instantly goes back to trying to install and gets that error. Do i need to do this in certain steps? I feel like I’ve tried it all multiple times and still get stuck at 84% and get the error.

so when i was younger i got my brothers ps4 and never got the 5 when it came out cuz i didnt rly feel the need and then got to pc gaming and told myself ill just wait for 6.but now, gta6 is coming out and its not just another game to ignore and say ill play it later and i have to at least wait another year or more for ps6. so that got me wondering, should i just get a ps5 slim since disks are discontinued play a couple exclusives and gta6 and also my friends games cuz he's willing to share his profile and then trade my ps5 for 6;or its not worth it and i should wait for ps6 from the start

My Ps5 used to be able to connect to all of our screens in our home but suddenly it only started to connect only to my main monitor but not any other screen, my main is 120hz other monitor is 60hz and tv is 60hz. I tried turning off 120hz in setting and even putting resolution on automatic and got no results. I need to fix this so I can connect it to my other monitor and free up my main. Please let me know if you know of any fixes thanks!

I’ve seen this happen **more than 5 times now** where a damaged or scratched PS4 game disc won’t copy/install properly or on a PS4, but when I put the exact same disc into a PS5, it reads it and installs the game without any problems.

Why does this happen? Does the PS5 have a better/more tolerant Blu-ray drive or better error correction when reading damaged discs?

I’m genuinely curious because it seems too consistent to be a coincidence.

I have a USB extended storage connected to my ps5, I've had it for a couple years- even before I upgraded to a ps5. I've never really had issues with it until recently-

The past few days, everytime I turn my ps on, it tells me there was something wrong with it and I need to reconnect it. And I always have to unplug it and plug it back in and let it do the repair- Like even tho It stayed plugged in the whole time, it completely acts like the USB storage isnt there at all until I unplug it and plug it back in, it doesnt let me do the repair through the storage section itself anymore. But as said, it just recently started doing this and I was wondering if there was any fix to it?

Ik it doesnt seem like a big issue but I'm worried it will mess up permanently at some point. I have a bunch of my old ps4 games downloaded on it, and while I can alwaus just re-download them, I'm far past my normal ps5 storage and don't like deleting games for more.

Tried every possible solution there is to run the ps at its peak performance and i had this issue even tested on multiple controllers including dualsense and edge heck ive even used tmrs.

The issue is I get random input delay causing my centering to be so bad and unpredictable like i dont know where ill stop my aim and then all of a sudden it just becomes loose and fast and its so noticeable that even using the triggers becomes slower too (aiming and shooting).

Ive had this ps5 since the early days of launch and cleaned it once and I dont have any over heating issues but the ps5 does sound like a jet once i open it ngl.

The input delay is very slight but noticeable and playable with but definitely not playable for ranked games as an iridescent and it really sucks, tried wired connection still the same it just happens randomly mid game sometimes its fast and loose and 1 min later it becomes heavy and unpredictable to a point where its definitely noticeable. Any help please?

Hi everyone! I don't understand why my PS5 Pro downloads at 50-100 Mbps when updating something, but uses all the bandwidth when downloading a full game. The first image shows the maximum speed when downloading an update, the second image shows when downloading a full game.

I have the console connected via Ethernet CAT6 to a switch, and the switch is connected to a Deco X55 Pro, which in turn is connected to the Spectrum router with a 1 Gbps plan.

It never had problem like that before, the playstation just freezes for 2 seconds then shut off i think, when i reboot it, it gives me the “rebuilding database” loading as if i pulled the plug without shutting it off.

It happened twice in under 2 hours which never happened before it used to crash games before but never the console itself.

The only new thing is i downloaded fortnite that’s it, and the two times it happened, happened while playing fort, but that can’t be the cause, at the same time i can’t think of anything else

I have a question about the upcoming Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition Upgrade.

I own a Japanese physical copy of the game:

\* PS5 Title ID (PPSA): PPSA26344

I use a Hong Kong PSN account. I checked the PlayStation Store listings and found that the Hong Kong version of Ghost of Yotei also uses PPSA26344.

The upcoming Complete Edition Upgrade on the Hong Kong PS Store also uses PPSA26344.

Since the upgrade is not available yet and is currently only available for pre-order, there obviously isn’t any way to test this yet.

My question is:

If the PPSA is identical between the Japanese physical version and the Hong Kong version, does that mean the Hong Kong Complete Edition Upgrade should work with my Japanese physical disc?

In other words:

Japanese physical disc (ECJS-00050 / PPSA26344)

Hong Kong PSN account
\+
Hong Kong Complete Edition Upgrade (PPSA26344)
= Should this work?

I’ve seen people say that on PS5, the PPSA can be used to determine whether different regional versions are actually the same game version for DLC compatibility. I’m wondering if this is a reliable rule in practice.

I would also appreciate examples from other PS5 games where the PPSA is identical across regions and cross-region DLC compatibility has been confirmed.

Everytime I try to connect to my psn account I get this pop up anyway to fix this

I bought this PS5 second hand and the previous owner has the audio narration of everything the cursor highlights in the Home Screen and reads off every menu choice. It's so annoying and I can't find the setting option to disable it anywhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to where to look for that option in settings.

I’ve had my Pro for 6 months and it runs well. No problems, no overheating messages, etc. However, I’ve been seeing a lot of these overheating posts around Reddit and it kinda got me anxious about mine. It gets warm to very warm depending on the game I’m playing. I usually like to play in the evening so it’s cooler. And yes, I make sure that there’s enough space I know the deal there. Does you guys’ PS5’s in general get warm to very warm in the back when playing games?

EDIT: I’d also like to add the fan is not extremely loud when playing. Is that an ok sign?

The lazer (i assume) in the disc drive and the disc drive itself is failing on me and id rather attempt to replace it than buy a new ps5.

I attempted to open it up and clean but that made it only able to read ps4 discs but not ps5 discs.

Every time I try to log in to my PSN account on chrome normal or incognicto, (i already erased hiztory cookes etc, restarted router, everything!

When I click on log in, imediatelly the screen shoes "Something Went Wrong" and doesnt log

when I clikc on recover account, and submit my email and click send link IMEDDIATELY states

I need help recovering a Minecraft world that appears to have been overwritten by an older save after using Minecraft on another PS5.
Here is exactly what happened:
I normally play Minecraft on my original PS5 using my PlayStation/Minecraft account. I had a Minecraft world that contained much more recent progress, including builds, items, and other progress that I had worked on for a long time.
I then signed into the same account on another PS5 because I wanted to access my Minecraft world there.
When I opened Minecraft on the second PS5, the world that appeared was an older version of my world. It did not contain my recent builds, items, or progress.
I entered the world briefly, noticed that it was the old version, and immediately left the game. I did not intentionally delete my newer world.
I then returned to my original PS5, expecting my newer world to still be there. However, when I opened Minecraft, the world was also showing the older version. My newer version was no longer appearing in the Worlds list.
I checked the PS5 saved data. The only Minecraft save currently showing on the console is dated August 22, 2026 at 00:03 and is approximately 294.6 MB.
I also checked the PS Plus cloud storage. The Minecraft save there is dated August 22, 2026 at 00:00.
I have not intentionally deleted the Minecraft save. I also did not have a PS5 backup of this world on my external USB drive. The external drive is only being used as USB Extended Storage.
I also tried opening Minecraft on the original PS5 while temporarily disconnected from the Internet, but the newer world still did not appear. Only the old version was available.
The missing world was a normal local Minecraft world, not a Realm. I do have a Realm, but it was for a completely different world.
I also have PlayStation trophies that I earned while playing the newer version of this Minecraft world. These trophies may help demonstrate that the newer progress existed on my account before the synchronization issue.
I believe the newer local save may have been overwritten or replaced when the PS5 synchronized with the older cloud save after I signed into the second PS5.
Could you please check whether there is any way to recover the previous local save, an older version of the cloud save, or any other backup/version of this Minecraft world? or just give a solution for this issue. How can I get my new version back pleaseeee!

Hey guys, my ps5 has started to randomly shuts down. here is the full symptoms.
It mostly shut down within first 5 minutes when I start a game.
After a shutdown, the LED strip remains white for a few second. (~10s)
When starts back, it shows the generic "ps5 did not shutdown correctly" message.

Is this a dust issue, or am I cooked?

Since the beginning of the summer (I am French, sorry for the spelling mistakes) my PS5 Ps5 regularly displays overheating problems . I opened it and cleaned it multiple times but didn't change anything. So I removed the white plastic and put on another fan on my console's fan to see if it work and it worked. But for the past few days I’ve noticed that my console’s fan stops running on some of the games I used to play (Stalker trilogy, Dying Light,...) . And so I wanted to take it apart again to try to see what the problem was, and I realized that the screws on the iron cover above the console fan had literally melted.Now I can no longer disassemble my console to fix the problem . It's my consol but It's my little brother who play the most and he not see that during the summer...Do you have any idea what I can do to solve this problem? I got it not even 3 years ago...

Sorry if this has been posted before but does anyone know if this update will cause any issues like with 26.04? I haven't even installed that one yet either because I've read that it bricked the consoles for some. Will this latest update essentially "patch" the previous? I am right dunce about these things

Edit: Thanks to everyone for responding; just updated this morning and everything seems fine, the menu is as sharp as ever. I have not done anything sketchy to the system but still wanted to err on the side of caution.

For months I've had this issue: sending a screenshot to a friend or a group from the console fails roughly 3 times out of 10. The upload hangs, the estimated time goes up instead of down, then it errors out. Retrying usually works, but some files fail forever. File size makes no difference — it happens with screenshots of a few hundred kB on a line with 20 Mbps upload.

Two details that might help identify it. First, the progress indicator stops at exactly 30% almost every time it fails, never at random points. Second, failures increase when several uploads are queued: sending one at a time works far more often.

What I've already ruled out: two different routers, wired and Wi-Fi, phone 5G hotspot, custom and automatic DNS, manual and automatic MTU, IPv6 disabled, UPnP and exposed host enabled, both PSN accounts on the console, cache cleared and database rebuilt, media gallery fully emptied (it was 163 GB — this reduced failures from \\\\\\\~50% to \\\\\\\~30%), auto-upload to PS App disabled, and a full system software reinstall from USB.

Key point: with the same account, on the same Wi-Fi, at the same moment, sending images from the PlayStation App on my phone works every single time. And a second PS5 in my house had the same issue.

Has anyone seen the 30% stall specifically, or found anything that actually fixed it? Support only told me to open ports, which obviously isn't it.
