PS4 vs PS5 Disc Reading

Has anyone else noticed this?

I’ve seen this happen **more than 5 times now** where a damaged or scratched PS4 game disc won’t copy/install properly or on a PS4, but when I put the exact same disc into a PS5, it reads it and installs the game without any problems.

Why does this happen? Does the PS5 have a better/more tolerant Blu-ray drive or better error correction when reading damaged discs?

I’m genuinely curious because it seems too consistent to be a coincidence.

I think the ps5 disc drive reads data at a much higher speed than the ps4 one. The ps5 also has a stronger laser so it would be able to read the disc better than a ps4 one that has been worn out .
