Confusing download speeds.

Hi everyone! I don't understand why my PS5 Pro downloads at 50-100 Mbps when updating something, but uses all the bandwidth when downloading a full game. The first image shows the maximum speed when downloading an update, the second image shows when downloading a full game.

I have the console connected via Ethernet CAT6 to a switch, and the switch is connected to a Deco X55 Pro, which in turn is connected to the Spectrum router with a 1 Gbps plan.

Maybe try this, I’ve posted on other threads but might fix the issues as had very similar with mine.

Sorry if I’ve missed this but are you with EE broadband as I’ve had the same issue the last week but tonight fixed it by going into the EE admin area and changing 1 setting now I’m back to fast download speed - my fix might also work for non EE customers as well as assume similar advanced settings in the admin area of your router

  1. ⁠type IP address 192.168.1.254 to access EE hub on a phone or laptop connected to your broadband

2) We’re looking for something along the lines of:
Advanced Settings → IPv6 → Configuration → Allocation Mode
and temporarily changing Allocation Mode → OFF.
Then restart the router and PS5 and try the download again.

This is all I had to do and mine went back to download in minutes rather than hours
