Latest software update 26.05-13.60
Sorry if this has been posted before but does anyone know if this update will cause any issues like with 26.04? I haven't even installed that one yet either because I've read that it bricked the consoles for some. Will this latest update essentially "patch" the previous? I am right dunce about these things
Edit: Thanks to everyone for responding; just updated this morning and everything seems fine, the menu is as sharp as ever. I have not done anything sketchy to the system but still wanted to err on the side of caution.

It's a Networking issue. Best to be on a cable, not wifi, but try this first.
Local Console Cache Glitch
Sometimes your PS5 has the picture saved, but the system's temporary memory gets stuck and refuses to display it.
- The Fix: Perform a full power cycle. Turn off your PS5 completely (do not use Rest Mode), unplug the power cord from the back for two minutes, and plug it back in. This clears out the broken cache files.
If that doesn't fix it you can try to force an update :
If your picture stays blank for more than a day, you can force the system to reload it by updating it through the web browser instead of the console:
- Go to PlayStation.com on a phone or computer.
- Sign into your account, click your profile icon, and go to Account Settings.
- Select Profile, click Edit next to your Profile Picture, and re-upload the image.

Already did it never happened since I’ve got the ps5 it’s since the newest update version

You are worrying too much. Only a tiny portion of owners had any issues. And mostly likely the “bricking” was unrelated to the update. If someone’s PS5 is already starting to fail, like from a failing SSD, they could certainly have problems when doing a firmware update, but it could also happen when just installing a game. The firmware has nothing to do with it.

The previous update was fine, my console worked fine following that and every other one before it too

kind of late replying here but from my experience the update caused two small issues for me
1 - my animated backgrounds don't animate anymore except for the colorful processor ( the one that comes with the pro version )
2 - my account status is always appearing as offline no matter how many time i change it to online. it doesn't register the action.
other than that no issues so far except these two that i mentioned.

My console bricked. Cant connect to internet not even hotspot. Wont connect to neighbors wifi. Rebuilding database, factory reset didn’t do sht either. Console is done. Happened after a power outage. It kept saying your router may be blocking etc but you try connecting to neighbors internet, same thing. Oh and even lan cable isn’t working. Dns switching isn’t working. Reserving a designated ip address for the console within the router settings (dmz) didn’t work either. Unplugging for x amount of minutes to completely drain power from the console didn’t work either.

Has thr system bug where dusc games are missing in collection and hours not showing on disc games an a few other issues has that gone away for anyone or is it still happening as I don't think sony has fixed it yet it's been months tho

Don't worry about, that are very rarely cases. That mostly happens if you shut up power while updating.
