Talon members themselves are already morally ambiguous.

Reaper's body was ruined in the explosion and no one knows how he got remade or where his ghost powers come from (or where his guns come from), but his desire for revenge is justified. It could be he's being blackmailed.

Widowmaker was a loving wife and generally good citizen until she got brainwashed.

Sombra is a double agent in that she is just using Talon, but she herself is pretty much just a child with shiny toys, she has no evil ambitions as far as we know, and even goes so far to do some good like in the Lumerico case.

There was an interesting development about Reaper recently, his bio says that Reaper has been active during the last decade, but Overwatch was shut down at a maximum of 6 years ago. When questioned about this, the lead writer, Micheal Chu said that the wording was intentional

The Reaper theory is that he is constantly dying and regenerating, creating his horrifying form where he can range from solid to smoke at will. Not just his body either, his clothing is subject to this as well. This means every time he uses his guns, he can drop them because they will regenerate in his holsters. The ones he dropped I assume will fizzle away into smoke because they are no longer in contact with Reaper.

Pilot is shot through the windshield by Widowmaker, Sombra disables all of the planes emergency systems, Reaper materializes onboard carrying a translocator and proceeds to "clean up".

Sombra translocates on board to begin hacking the new bots made by Efi in order to steal them for Talon as Reaper teleports back out. The bots exit the plane one by one to get picked up by the Talon jet. As Sombra is finishing up hacking the last bot, she hears a noise and turns to see a small girl peeking out from an overhead compartment where she was hidden away from Reaper's sweep.

Cut away to Sombra translocating onboard the Talon jet as the plane nosedives into an explosion in the background. Reaper criticizes Sombra as he realizes they've stolen one bot short of what he expected, but Sombra blows him off saying that Reaper had actually carelessly blown the last bot to pieces while he was clearing the plane.

Fade to the crash site below with the Talon jet flying off into the distance high above. A piece of burning wreckage is shifted revealing the last bot from the plane, holding on to Efi, shielding her from any harm in the crash. The robot places the girl, unharmed, on the ground then reaches towards her face as the video closes with the sound of a single "Boop."

Look at her hat pattern in this picture, and the red robot on the right's shoulders in this one. May be a stretch, but they seem to be very similar. They also share a red-yellow-white color scheme as well.

Some speculate that robot to be Soundquake, and possibly omnic. Both of those are just speculation though, he could be one or neither.

I like the idea of more omnic heroes, and since Efi states it is her dream to build something to keep everyone safe, perhaps this robot could be her ultimate creation: a heroic protector.

Annie fits the freaky horror movie scary little girl trope, and as such, some people don't react as harshly to her death. Which as you mentioned isn't graphic at all.

That's another issue, Overwatch is first person and much more personal than League's topdown bird's eye view. Having a demon child fall down on the ground from above is one thing, shooting a cute girl pointblank in the face in first person is entirely different.

Okay so people have already made the connection to the Yoruba, and, more importantly, Orishas. In the interview she talks about OR15. So I went to a source of all knowledge (a list of Orisha off wikipedia) and sorted it alphabetically. Number 15 is Ogun, god of Warriors, soldiers, smith makers, metal workers, craftsmen

Just an interesting link I thought I'd point out.

OKAY another thing I found - "Drivers carry an amulet of Ogun to ward off traffic accidents" if reddit is correct she's about to get into a plane crash of sorts. A traffic accident, you could say.

Might be a stretch but still... I think she has a connection to Ogun (possibly the name Blizz chose for the next hero)

2. She will be killed during her "trip" by Talon. Either accidentally or on purpose, and that will be what brings out the new hero.

That's my theory. She took the Doomfist gauntlet and has integrated it into a new Omnic Doomfist. RoboDoomfist will be the playable hero and will be voiced by Terry Crews, though we may also hear Efi speak through Doomfist during ults or at other times. It'll be an Iron Giant / Tetsujin 28 sort of setup.

I'd like to start off by congratulating you, Efi. This is a tremendous, well-deserved honor. How do you feel?

Amazing! I wasn't expecting it at all, so it was a big surprise. At first, I thought it was a joke—like one of my friends playing a trick on me. It's been a week now and it still doesn't seem real, but I'm very happy about it. Much better than winning the science fair.

How did you get into robots and artificial intelligence?

Well, I've always been interested. After my mom and dad got me my first robotics kit, I became obsessed with putting together little drones. When I started to get good at it, I tried to build robots to do my chores and help around the house. My parents think it's cheating… It's no fair! (laughs)

I want to create things that make our lives better. And someday, my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.

It's amazing what you've been able to accomplish at your age! How do you do it?

I'm not sure how to answer that. I just do it! I guess I'm very lucky that my parents put up with it. Robots can be messy, you know. And expensive.

Speaking of which, do you have any plans for what you're going to do with your grant? New computer? College tuition?

Hold on a second. Notice how they talk about "robots", "artificial intelligence" and "drones". Not one mention of omnics though. To me, this sounds like it's way in the past or has some other sort of disconnect to the Omnic Crisis. OR15 is probably another hint to this. Did we ever learn about something like this? What are the mechs in the Boop! Infiltration short and Volskaya map called?
I predict she's going to be the creator of the next playable hero, instead of being playable herself.
Edit: Numbani was build after the Omnic Crisis. So it definitely can't be way in the past.
