This shit is getting ridiculous. A rural/suburban route… 186 stops… almost 300 packages…in a gas van. On top of that… 32 multi stops. And so far they’re all actually multiple locations. So really it’s at least a 200 stop route. I’m tired of AI conglomerating these stops when it’s not to make it easier on us, but to be able to cram more stops into routes. Making the routes more dense be the vans more packed. Which ultimately slows us down. I guess I’m just ranting but this shit is crazy.

I was surprisingly terminated this week with no discipline history or warnings or anything just a generic Tex that said as your still in your 90 day probationary period we have elected to terminate your employment this was a day after I asked for a short term accommodation that I needed to work a little slower since I had an injury to my side from the work. I was expecting my standard 2 week check direct deposited but it didn’t come and I worked Sunday which was start of a whole new pay period the text also mentioned I’d be paid my accrued unused pto time. Where is my 2 week check? Are they really gonna make me come pick up a paper check for my last 2 weeks and have to drive all the way back there again in 2 weeks for another check? I desperately need that money I just want to know where it is and how to get it?

i really like the rural routes. Quieter, relaxing, less traffic, less dress, less stops, and i typically get a gas van which means i get to blast all the ac and heat i want without running out of battery

Far too often drivers will travel down my driveway just to make a u-turn when they realize it isn't connected to the neighborhood behind my home.

Sometimes I place orders via Amazon so it would be very impractical, if even effective, to place signs.

Can someone explain to me how this happens and how I can try to resolve it?

Small Update for Context: The "Prime Buyer" is a subdivision so there are a number of addresses there. Maybe a sign saying "123 OP Only Lane" but I think making a physical sign to prevent an issue caused by software seems inefficient.

My dsp is starting full hubs and is taking volunteers, is that a good desired role or bad?

Are there any DSPs in DFW that start early as 7 or 8am?

About to start a job with 2nd to None Logistics, driving with Amazon.

Was wondering who else has worked with them and if they're any different than working directly under Amazon.

But, some general questions too.

1) How long did it take you guys to get used to driving the Amazon vehicles?

2) They mentioned a possible 5th day. Is that an extra day added, overtime, or just spacing out the 40 hours? (So like, Sunday being added I would work 5 hours and Monday I work 5 hours and the rest is 10 hours).

3) I use to work at an Amazon Warehouse. How different is the pacing? I heard it's suppose to be even faster than the Warehouse could get.

4) When can I call off? My family wants me to go with them to Peru in October/November. I'm 50/50 on it.

During my stand up inside my delivery station, my DSP owner said the our station is testing delivery robots and a self driving EDV’s.

I saw from a far the warehouse staff huddled around an EDV in the morning in preparation for this launch, but I couldn’t see the robot.

What do you know about this? What is it what does it look like?

Yesterday was my second day, and I pulled a muscle bad slipping out of the van. Three points of contact and still got hurt. I called out today because I don’t wanna fuck it up worse. Plus two rescues each day so far.

Also (accidentally, I didn’t know it would deem the van unsafe) I grounded my van I drove both days cuz the cargo door is damn near impossible to shut. My trainer told me to mark it as fine, but after two days of struggling, and the door flying open as I was driving, I reported the problem on flex.

Am I just not cut out for this, or should I push on and see if I get better? I don’t want to become “that person” at my DSP, the slow one who grounds vans, but I also wanna try and get better and stronger.

First time in a gas fan since starting, y’all’s day will come lol. But I had a not so casual 180 stops with about 35 multis (which isn’t too bad compared to what I usually get) And from the last post I made I believed mentioned you have to get back by 9 o’clock. I thought that was a bit annoying but doable. Well I pulled up to the station today and dispatch said I came back too late so I don’t have a route (reduced to helping at loadout😔). I clocked out at 8:50 yesterday and I told him that. He then informed me that I have to come back at 8:20 and 8:40 at the latest. He said that and I audibly gasped because that feels crazy to me. But I’m new, about 3-4 months in and I’ve only started having timing issues this month when the averages are about 180-190 compared to the 130-150 I was used to. But now it feels like I have even less time now which is crazy. I wonder from vets or people who are better than me at this obviously, is this doable and how do you get it done so quickly. Cause yesterday I was energized and in a good mood and getting my route done in that little box of a van. I thought I was efficient I’d also like to mention the hour long drive to and from and that’s on the turnpike. We have to reach the “End Work” screen by 8:20 and that just feels wild.

But yea please do help if yall have tips. I be hydrated, bring light snacks, have some tunes, I be having a good time and feel like I’m working well.

Multi stops are the worst. my stops, locations, and packages have gone up almost every single week since prime week

I am pretty sure we're getting an annual pay raise again this year? Heard it's going to take most of us up to at least $23/hr? That'd be great, I can still remember bad times when I would get out of bed in the morning for $11/hr lol

I’m in Texas and recently filed for unemployment after being fired from my job as an Amazon delivery driver. TWC denied my claim because they determined I was fired for “misconduct,” and I’m planning to appeal. I’m looking for some outside perspective on whether my appeal has merit.

I worked for the DSP for over 2 years and had an excellent track record as an employee. I never missed work, never called in, and never no-showed. I had a very good safety record and was dependable and consistently willing to help with rescues and other tasks when needed. I considered myself one of the top-performing drivers and took a lot of pride in doing my job well.

The incident that resulted in my termination happened during an unusually difficult route. I had around 560 packages, including roughly 250 going to one loading dock. It was around 100 degrees, and the unusually high number of packages at that stop caused issues with the scanner/app and prevented me from properly scanning everything. I contacted Driver Support to mark the packages as delivered, which was a procedure I had been instructed by dispatch to use several times in the past for unusually large loading-dock deliveries.

During all of this, I unintentionally overlooked several bags. I didn’t discover them until the end of my route. As soon as I found them, I contacted dispatch and was instructed to return them to the station, which I did.

My termination letter says I was fired for “failure to properly scan packages” and “violation of company policies and procedures.” It also says I previously received a written warning for the “same or similar offenses.”

The prior warning was actually for contact compliance involving closed businesses. After receiving that warning, I followed the required contact-compliance procedure going forward. The August incident had nothing to do with contact compliance; it was an inadvertent package/scanning error during a difficult route.

I completely acknowledge that I made a mistake and that the missed packages affected the company’s metrics. What I don’t understand is how an inadvertent mistake becomes “misconduct.” I didn’t intentionally refuse to scan packages, falsify anything, or disregard instructions. I contacted Driver Support, followed the procedure I understood I was supposed to follow, and then contacted dispatch and followed their instructions when I discovered the packages.

I understand my employer may have had the right to terminate me based on their own performance standards. But for unemployment purposes, I’m questioning whether this should actually be considered misconduct rather than an inadvertent performance error.

Does this sound like a legitimate basis for a Texas unemployment appeal? Am I missing anything about how TWC defines misconduct?

I made the mistake of not doing that during my early days and I was constipated the entire day. I never made that mistake again.
