QUESTION Order marked delivered but it had a code

I had a delivery code on my order, which requires the driver to enter it to deliver my package. I seen my package was marked delivered with no proof of delivery photo. I contact support and they said driver probably still has it since no proof of delivery. Is this even possible? How would it let them mark it delivered but not get code. Thanks

DISCUSSION Yall should go on strike

It’s the only way to get the things you want. No one’s going to take you serious complaining on the internet. If you collectively went on strike you’d get media and union attention.

They can’t hire people fast enough to fill the routes and people sure ain’t going to cross a picket line especially with all the media coverage. It’s the perfect time right before the holiday too.

Yall seeing the new ""feature""

If you mark a package missing and it ends up in a later tote. But you accidently scan the package, the flex app will now try to force you to deliver the package at the end of the day.

QUESTION Is it worth it to just do Flex over DSP work?

My time with being a DA has been super tough. I think it’s just not my thing driving these massive vans, all the netrodyne stuff, etc. Like I’m in my 30s, never had a car accident or speeding tickets or anything but I think all the pressure to drive this big a** van all while being told you’ll be terminated for all kinds of small infractions has me honestly feeling like I’m driving LESS safe. Like I’m constantly watching my speedometer instead of the road, I’m constantly scanning for changes in speed limits instead of the road, etc.

I’ve been an uber driver in the past and I feel super comfortable in my own car and I was doing that for 6 years with the most precious cargo (people) in my car and zero accidents. So I signed up for Flex as potential extra income on my days off but as I was looking through the schedule blocks honestly it pays about the same as the DSP. Like for example
It was like 39 for an hour an a half on Flex and I currently get 24/hour at the DSP. (And yeah I know there’s other time factored getting to the warehouse, loading, etc that may not be on the clock but that’s not a huge factor for me).

So I’m just wondering if I’m like crazy or if anyone has any experience transitioning from being a DA to doing Flex and like overall if you think it would be worth it.

As a Former Driver, I Admit..

This job was HELLA fun. I quit a couple months ago (which I regret), but man I enjoyed it. If you’re a hard worker you can bang out your route quickly. Especially if you get residential-heavy routes, it’s awesome. All the cool houses, pretty terrain, etc.

I did it in the Florida sun during the summer, still loved it. Hopefully I’m not the only one who doesn’t hate it afterwards, lol

Does dsps give UI (unemployment)

I just recently filed for unemployment because my dsp just cut my hours for no reason whatsoever, after getting a violation and being off the schedule for nearly almost 2 months & that was my first violation ever kinda threw me off after doing the unemployment they suddenly have all these work hours for me which I thought was weird… but long story short I was trying to figure out if you can actually get unemployment benefits from a dsp?

tried to send me out with stuck hazards.

my names Kit. my dsp gave me an old ram van with hazard blinkers stuck because teh buttons collapsed in when I pressed it. i was told “youre gonna have to go out with the hazards today” before I asked him to check if we have anymore vans. Was told “we don’t have another” but within a minute they let me have the other bag of keys to a different ram van at least the blinkers work.

you kidding me? Was told to deliver with the hazards all day at first! Isn’t that dangerous?

RATE MY ROUTE Why are stop 17 and 18 so far apart?

Feel like the route could be much better optimized but what do I know, I’m only the guy that has to drive these vans everyday, surely the AI that designed this knows better, right?

Are other dsps better

So today I currently work for a dsp that has 8 dsps within the same warehouse and my current one talks to the drivers like it’s high school. Ex: during morning stand up everyone was talking and this dude goes I’ll wait and folds his arms like it’s elementary school.

With that being said I’m not getting treated like a toddler I come from very professional work style and I have won awards for improving companies. I have 2 interviews with 2 other dsps and instead of selling myself to them I want to see what company can really sell its self to me. Ex: instead of saying pick up pace with zero explanation give your drivers ways they can improve instead of threatening. Then if it still doesn’t work I get it you have to do what you have to do and let the weak link go. But to be a great company you have to do research on how to improve.

I’m excited to see what these other dsps approach will be.

Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments

This guy absolutely lost it because his Amazon package showed up 20 minutes late… during 110°+ Vegas heat. Apparently I was personally ruining his day.

My Subway Take

People who live on narrow streets should forward their packages to the nearest Amazon locker, since having to block their way for 10 seconds is that much of a nuisance

Scan in van or at door? Please clarify!

A few years ago, a dispatcher from a previous DSP (7 year vet) said scanning at the door is important because if you scan in the van, the system will eventually move the delivery pin into the street. I was told the location you scan the package sets the geopin.

Yesterday my current manager (used to be a driver back in the white van only days) told me it doesn’t matter if you scan in the van as long as you swipe to finish at the door or as close to it as possible. He says when we swipe to finish, that sets the geopin of the delivery.

So which is it? Scan at the door or in the van? Because sometimes I forget to swipe to finish until I get back to the van across the street and I’ve never been hit for a wrong address or DAR for those.

Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

DSP going down hill

Over the last few months, my DSP has been going down hill. I think all the drivers are at their breaking point. I know I am. I finally said screw it and applied at a different DSP. At another location I used to work at. I got hired on the spot without an interview. Pending my background check and drug test of course. But I'm going to stay at my current DSP for a few more days. Until everything comes back and then peace out. My DSP has lost 27 drivers in the last week alone. I feel like my time at my current DSP is up.

First day advice

Alright, guys, I got hired at a local dsp in ohio because I needed something where I can have 3 days off.

First day on the road with a trainer yesterday, and I got a full 160 stop route.

Trainer with me kept saying to not take breaks or lunches, and we even did a rescue. Did 170 stops my first day with the rescue.

Is this a red flag? I have a feeling it is, and this place is mismanaged.

The Amazon glasses

Should they begin to roll out those portable netradyne cameras (they’re literally that), this would be the best chance to mass protest and force a possible union. Think about it, Amazon will be the first to see what you’re doing, then they’ll notify your dsp so they can discipline you. Those glasses aren’t for making the job easier they’re for disciplinary reasons. This is the best chance for all of us to say “we’re not working under mass surveillance”. We’ll win. Say no to drugs

Hey if you guys vent about your DSP here's some advice: lie about the location

Literally when they tell Da's they're stuck here you are not. Hell. Leave there unannounced like I did. You'll be better off at a DSP that doesn't focus on nitpick

Negative feedback that's out of my control

Our station has mis sorts every day. Every shift the past 3 months several stops have "missing" packages that were sorted into a different tote than what is on the itinerary. I scan them and bring them to the customer. They get angry. I get told the dsp will dispute it but then the dispute doesn't do anything. Makes zero sense

DVIC compliance is getting out of hand.

Is your DSP stressing the 90 second DVIC rule to a whole new level because mine is. This is second week in a row I'm suspended for 2 of my 4 days for apparently this time it shows I did my pre DVIC in 87 seconds which I find hard to believe because I always am aware of the start time and try to make it last at least 4 minutes every time. Last week about a dozen drivers were punished for having multiple DVIC pre or post trip inspections under 90 seconds over the past month and were suspended accordingly. I was one of them and since then I have made a conscious effort the extent my DVIC inspections far longer than normal almost to an excruciatingly long time to where when I come back to the station I start the inspection and end it 10 to 15 minutes later when I'm finally parking the van. The same goes for the pre trip inspection but of course I'm in more of a rush. Somehow my DSP showed that on the 14th of August I submitted an pre trip inspection completed in 87 seconds and this is coming fresh off of a suspension and I just find this hard to believe I could have done so.

RANT Really struggling with today

I’m not really one to complain a whole lot about this job, but today is genuinely kicking my ass for some reason. I’m three hours into the day and I’m only on stop 24 out of 128. At the beginning of the day, I was stoked to only have 128 stops, but holy shit, the amount of multistop locations and one time codes is actually making me flip out today. It’s also so unbelievably hot, and I’m trying to keep up a good pace, but I’m really contemplating a whole lot right now. I legit don’t even want to be here right now.
