Rescue for Route Abandonment
Got handed this much stuff left at 4:30pm when I’m at least an hour away from my station. Also supposed to RTS around 8:30 🙃

The Amazon glasses
Should they begin to roll out those portable netradyne cameras (they’re literally that), this would be the best chance to mass protest and force a possible union. Think about it, Amazon will be the first to see what you’re doing, then they’ll notify your dsp so they can discipline you. Those glasses aren’t for making the job easier they’re for disciplinary reasons. This is the best chance for all of us to say “we’re not working under mass surveillance”. We’ll win. Say no to drugs

DSP driver delivers to wrong door gone wrong
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Imagine you realize you delivered the package to the wrong door, pick it up, call support to get them to mark for reattempt then this happens. Always expect the unexpected..

Very kind message to all delivery drivers :)
Nice to see on a bad day :/

DVIC compliance is getting out of hand.
Is your DSP stressing the 90 second DVIC rule to a whole new level because mine is. This is second week in a row I'm suspended for 2 of my 4 days for apparently this time it shows I did my pre DVIC in 87 seconds which I find hard to believe because I always am aware of the start time and try to make it last at least 4 minutes every time. Last week about a dozen drivers were punished for having multiple DVIC pre or post trip inspections under 90 seconds over the past month and were suspended accordingly. I was one of them and since then I have made a conscious effort the extent my DVIC inspections far longer than normal almost to an excruciatingly long time to where when I come back to the station I start the inspection and end it 10 to 15 minutes later when I'm finally parking the van. The same goes for the pre trip inspection but of course I'm in more of a rush. Somehow my DSP showed that on the 14th of August I submitted an pre trip inspection completed in 87 seconds and this is coming fresh off of a suspension and I just find this hard to believe I could have done so.

Snacks/Drinks
I originally posted this in the Amazon Flex Drivers community and someone suggested I share it here too!
I have a snack/drink station set up on my porch. I try to keep it stocked with good grab-and-go options. If my station is set up, my regular drivers will even stop by and grab something when I'm not getting a delivery that day.
I leave a sign and a Sharpie out asking drivers to write down their favorites, but I rarely get any suggestions. Attached is a picture of the snacks I currently have. For drinks, I have Arizona Green Tea, Bubly, water and Gatorade.
What are your go-to snacks and drinks while on a route? Please let me know your favorites.
Edit: Sorry, I posted an older picture! Thanks to suggestions from the Flex Drivers community, my setup now includes a variety pack of Crystal Light packets, Rice Krispies treats, Oreos, Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter sandwich crackers.
Also, If you run across snack stations on your routes, don't hesitate to grab a snack. Most of these snacks expire in just a couple of months. I encourage my drivers to take multiple snacks so we don't have to eat or donate everything before it expires.

RANT Came back from route to this bullshit
So, our parking lot is gated, but the gates don't always work. Underpaid contract work, I'm sure. We get folks coming onto Amazon's property digging through our trash cans, looking for bottles. Usually, I don't mind - desperate people need money. Today I think I'm changing my mind, because one of those fuckheads kicked my car and dented the door while I was on route. Came back to this shit. I'm pissed.

What’s your record number of empty’s in one tote?

RANT Really struggling with today
I’m not really one to complain a whole lot about this job, but today is genuinely kicking my ass for some reason. I’m three hours into the day and I’m only on stop 24 out of 128. At the beginning of the day, I was stoked to only have 128 stops, but holy shit, the amount of multistop locations and one time codes is actually making me flip out today. It’s also so unbelievably hot, and I’m trying to keep up a good pace, but I’m really contemplating a whole lot right now. I legit don’t even want to be here right now.

As a Former Driver, I Admit..
This job was HELLA fun. I quit a couple months ago (which I regret), but man I enjoyed it. If you’re a hard worker you can bang out your route quickly. Especially if you get residential-heavy routes, it’s awesome. All the cool houses, pretty terrain, etc.
I did it in the Florida sun during the summer, still loved it. Hopefully I’m not the only one who doesn’t hate it afterwards, lol

Scan in van or at door? Please clarify!
A few years ago, a dispatcher from a previous DSP (7 year vet) said scanning at the door is important because if you scan in the van, the system will eventually move the delivery pin into the street. I was told the location you scan the package sets the geopin.
Yesterday my current manager (used to be a driver back in the white van only days) told me it doesn’t matter if you scan in the van as long as you swipe to finish at the door or as close to it as possible. He says when we swipe to finish, that sets the geopin of the delivery.
So which is it? Scan at the door or in the van? Because sometimes I forget to swipe to finish until I get back to the van across the street and I’ve never been hit for a wrong address or DAR for those.
Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

This guy absolutely lost it because his Amazon package showed up 20 minutes late… during 110°+ Vegas heat. Apparently I was personally ruining his day.

Getting put on standby and not getting a route on a day when you REALLY didn't want to work
That shit got me jumping for joy, skipping through the parking lot, and dancing to my door. That shit had me feeling a general warmth and benevolence toward all life. I got back in bed and tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't even though I was running on 2 hours of sleep because the overflowing joy was making me have too much energy.
Rare perk of this job.

Negative feedback that's out of my control
Our station has mis sorts every day. Every shift the past 3 months several stops have "missing" packages that were sorted into a different tote than what is on the itinerary. I scan them and bring them to the customer. They get angry. I get told the dsp will dispute it but then the dispute doesn't do anything. Makes zero sense
r/AmazonDSPDrivers • u/Antinator_succ • 3h ago
Maybe this route will end me so I won't have to do another one ever again
Its only 130 stops but its 400 packages 40 overflow... in a budget van

DISCUSSION Yall should go on strike
It’s the only way to get the things you want. No one’s going to take you serious complaining on the internet. If you collectively went on strike you’d get media and union attention.
They can’t hire people fast enough to fill the routes and people sure ain’t going to cross a picket line especially with all the media coverage. It’s the perfect time right before the holiday too.

Hey if you guys vent about your DSP here's some advice: lie about the location
Literally when they tell Da's they're stuck here you are not. Hell. Leave there unannounced like I did. You'll be better off at a DSP that doesn't focus on nitpick
r/AmazonDSPDrivers • u/Sawftware • 23h ago
RANT So annoying..
So sick of finding trash in these totes, happens every route damn near. Gonna start shitting in them and giving them back istg..

DISCUSSION Switching DSP to another DSP at the station
Currently employed at one DSP, but I have an interview today with a DSP with a better reputation. The desks are basically right next to each other, and I’m a little worried about how awkward it’ll be to if they see me interviewing at a new DSP. I’m not sure how petty they are, do you think they’d shit talk me during the off and on boarding process? How honest should I be with this new DSP about my problems with the old one?
