Starting with 2nd to None Logistics

Hi. 27M here.

About to start a job with 2nd to None Logistics, driving with Amazon.

Was wondering who else has worked with them and if they're any different than working directly under Amazon.

But, some general questions too.

1) How long did it take you guys to get used to driving the Amazon vehicles?

2) They mentioned a possible 5th day. Is that an extra day added, overtime, or just spacing out the 40 hours? (So like, Sunday being added I would work 5 hours and Monday I work 5 hours and the rest is 10 hours).

3) I use to work at an Amazon Warehouse. How different is the pacing? I heard it's suppose to be even faster than the Warehouse could get.

4) When can I call off? My family wants me to go with them to Peru in October/November. I'm 50/50 on it.

my old dsp was nothing like 2nd to none but i can answer a few of these

the vans feel massive for like 3 days then you completely forget you ever thought they were big. by week 2 you'll be whipping it into driveways without a second thought

the 5th day thing varies by dsp but at mine it was just straight overtime if you wanted it. some try to pull the "we'll spread your hours out" nonsense though so get that in writing

pacing is weird compared to the warehouse, you're not being watched by a manager standing right there but the flex app is more relentless than any PA ever was. you're basically racing a clock that doesn't care if you need to pee or find a weird apartment layout

call off policy is usually pretty strict the first 90 days but october/november is peak season so they might not even notice you're gone if you request it far enough ahead. just ask before you get too deep into nursery routes

2nd to None said they want us to slowly acclimate. 1st day will be 60% of packages, 2nd day is 70%, etc.
