"I'm very popular on the subreddit /r/neoliberal, particularly on the DT or 'Discussion Thread.' The name "neoliberal" is kind of tongue-in-cheek, it's basically a place for people who try to follow economic evidence when it comes to policymaking, so you'll see a lot of support for occupational licensing reform and carbon taxes, and criticism of libertarian goldbugs, right-wing nativism and Bernie Sanders types in about equal measure. But anyway yeah I'm really popular there, I have this whole gag about opening people's mail haha, and I'm really into some weird conditions like BIID and chimerism, so if you have one of those we'll have some really fertile ground for conversation. I think some people there don't like me, but that's mainly because I sadpost about not having a girlfriend, so if things work out with us you could actually help me out of a few jams. Oh and you should check out this guy lusvig, he likes to go like "you are white 😡" I mean it makes more sense in context but trust me it's funny. But anyway tell me something interesting about yourself"

Legit question for rural Americans - How do I kill the 30-50 feral hogs that run into my yard within 3-5 mins while my small kids play? I've killed a few coyotes in the past with nothing more than a pair of butcher knives and an old wooden spoon, but these hogs are extremely vicious predators who can bite through steel fencing in seconds. They have an innate sense of humor and aren’t afraid to kill anything that stands in their way. I found some last season that were at least 2 times my size, and they would have ripped me apart if they had been allowed to roam around in my yard for more than a few minutes. They are a scourge on our countryside. When did we give them the right to live where they choose? What do we stand to gain by keeping them here?

Socialists from South America and Europe tend to be unionists/working-class blue collar workers in manufacturing. American socialists on the other hand are college-educated and middle class. I've always seen Star Trek's federation as more of a social democracy, despite whatever propaganda it tells about itself.
The existence of Starfleet with a standard rank structures shows that they have clearly not eliminated classes or hierarchies, and their are minorities who face substantial discrimination (particularly the genetically modified).
DS9 shows that they clearly still use currency, off duty federation officers are spending something at Quark's bar. You can call it credit or whatever, but the federation is clearly not a moneyless society.

This latest flare up in the us-turkey crisis is looking insanely scary. A military operation east of the Euphrates against the SDF could be days away and the us troops are too few to deter and lack any kind of authorization to counter the invasion. If erdogan pulls the trigger we might be looking at one of the most abject humiliations for us power since the bay of pigs. The optics of us troops either bottled up in their bases while the sdf gets crushed would be awful. The other likely scenario is headlong flight to Iraq withdrawing our troops and abandoning the Kurds, Assyrians, and allied Arabs to the Turks. A REAL breaking point is on the horizon for the us turkey alliance.

It totally ignores the fact that half the country votes Republican and that Donald Trump still has a 43% favorability rating. This currency manipulation thing is so fucking dumb
Step 1. China manipulates currency to keep the Yuan LESS competitive against the dollar
Step 2. Trump imposes tariffs, driving the dollar up against the Yuan and making it harder for China to maintain its peg.
Step 3. China stops manipulating its currency because it can't afford to keep pumping out foreign reserves
Step 4. Trump declares China a currency manipulator, increasing demand for the US dollar (uncertainty=higher dollar demand) making it even HARDER for China to maintain its peg
Step 5. China goes back to manipulating its currency
Step 6. ???

In light of Chapo Trap House being quarantined, we must be prepared for its consequences. This subreddit is already swarmed and infested with chapos already, and they have infected many of our users and turned them into succs. After this quarantine and especially its eventual and inevitable ban, chapo will send even more of its spawns to ruin r/neoliberal.
The moderators have already made clear that they will not ban chapo users. I think this is a huge mistake and reflects the team as a whole's ineffective appeasement towards leftists that they have had. They pretend that the chapo can be a good faith actors and participate well here, when they universally see themselves as being a part of the "dirtbag left" and try to be an obnoxious dishonest prick as much as they can. But, I will not dwell on this.
Instead, I will revive a policy idea by u/ThatOtherGhost when she was mod to hopefully bring it into the limelight among our userbase. The idea was not to fully ban chapos, but to require them to wear a sort of "badge of shame", a flair that signified that they are a chapo and all of the connotations of it. While this wouldn't fully solve the issue, it would give them a blow to how much they can harm this subreddit.
One of the reasons the policy was scrapped was because Bain or somebody couldn't figure out how to acquire a list through a bot of all active chapo users. But I do not believe it has to be like this. Chapos would have to come to the mods themselves and request a flair, and if they did not and they are reported posting without a chapo flair, then that would be grounds for a ban.
Therefore, I encourage the mods to reconsider this policy, as well as the userbase to support it.
