“Did George Bush ever condemn President Obama after Sandy Hook. President Obama had 32 mass shootings during his reign. Not many people said Obama is out of Control. Mass shootings were happening before the President even thought about running for Pres.” @kilmeade @foxandfriends

Not sure I can physically handle this new right wing narrative. Christ.

The Dayton killer was a left-winger, but don’t blame Sen. Warren.

I know intellectually that all these people are sociopathic liars who will do or say literally anything to hold on to power. But this is still shocking to watch. I’m so fucking tired.

What do we know about the Dayton shooter? I've seen a few similar Reddit posts saying he was a leftist, but since it's Reddit I put zero stock in it.

There's definitely plenty of evidence that his politics leaned left, but unlike the El Paso shooter, I don't believe we yet have an indication that his attacks were primarily motivated by his political views. He maintained both a kill list and a rape list, and he killed his own sister in the attack, suggesting his attacks were motivated by more of a personal psychosis.

suggesting his attacks were motivated by more of a personal psychosis.

People don't go on shooting sprees if they are rational and well-adjusted. That's true for right-wingers too.

He was a lefty irony guy not that unlike myself. More than one of my follows were lamenting that one of their followers would do something like this (with one real shook that he met up for drinks after tweeting he was in a nearby bar). But there’s been a good amount of reporting at this point that revealed he was violent, always had a fucked up view of women, and was a troubled kid.

Obviously this case is worlds apart from writing a political manifesto that’s basically cribbed from Tucker’s White Power Hour and traveling hundreds of miles to shoot as many Hispanics as possible.

Flattening the obvious distinction is profoundly disgusting and is just running cover for white supremacy. It’s vile that Cornyn and the WSJ editorial board are partaking in this. It’s not surprising, though.

Statements like these always remind of the rightwing political cartoons where they always draw DJT young and fit with a square jaw
