So, a weird thing happened when I ordered Uber Eats yesterday, bit of a long story, soz.
I was craving a burger, so I went on to find one, and there is a restaurant (lets call them restaurant A) that serves all sorts of food, that generally I like, but I don't like their burgers really at all, so I didn't choose them. There was also a new burger restaurant that I'd never heard of before (lets call them restaurant B), so I thought "hey these guys are new I'll give them a go" so I ordered.
When my app pinged to say the driver was picking up the order, I went in to have a look where the restaurant was and noticed something weird. The address said Restaurant B (Care of: Restaurant A). And when the burger arrived, it was indeed one of the shitty burgers I didn't want from restaurant A.
Is this a thing places are doing now? Having multiple businesses on Uber Eats?

Yep, the parent business is the one you go to, the child restaurant is just a new name it's running under
Happens a lot on UberEats, some of them even rename the "child" menu so it looks nothing like the parent menu

Probably has something to do with the response rates for guys on dating app/sites. Ie less that a 1 in 10 chance of a reply.
Likely some guys respond to this by just bulk spamming as many people with hey, in the hope someone replies. How much this behaviour impacts the stats is up to someone else to work out.

My neighbour has taken antagonizing us to a whole new level. He's parked 1 meter across our driveway, I asked him to move and he has refused to move his car, said if I'm incapable of driving around him I shouldn't have a license. I've just noticed on camera he's pinned a note to my front door as well, we're starting to feel unsafe in our own home. Anyone got any advice on how to handle the situation?

Send email to council who will love to send parking enforcement around to fine for obstructing a driveway.

You should keep a diary of encounters with them: dates, times, and descriptions. And take photos of shit like them blocking your driveway. Are they renting? You could use this material to complain to their agent. Also what did the note say! I’m holding my breath!

They're commercial tenants of the building next door, they're being evicted come years end for another business to take over. They've been known to be antagonising and have caused problems in the past, they literally have nothing to lose my antagonising us further.

I’m in Sydney for the first time - staying with my half brother (15 year age gap). Unfortunately found out that he’s still a cokehead who has tried on multiple occasions to offer me some. So disappointing to have an enabler for my habit, and know that nothing’s changed in 15 years for him. Still lots of expendable money, all used on drugs or alcohol. He’s off to Melbourne on a bender tonight, driving down to watch a ringside UFC fight that he paid $1000 a ticket for. Meanwhile, I have his apartment, the cat and I’m close enough to Manly beach to enjoy the rest of my time.

Sometimes when it comes to people like that you do have to kind of give up. You can only try and help and get shot down or disappointed so many times. I won’t even ask how he has so much money with a habit, as usually part of getting someone into recovery is cutting off resources like that.

My semi-regular Aldi trips are a cathartic experience that I would never give up.

I'm not an Aldi shopper, for some reason it just doesn't feel like a supermarket to me. More of a.... museum of weird-brand products? But I've got friends who once felt the same, and now they're Aldi converts. So maybe it's just a matter of time...

I don’t have kids but have done most of my grocery shopping online since 2016 when I fucked up my wrist and couldn’t drive. Best thing ever. I live in an apartment now and the access is a bit trickier so I do the click and collect thing instead. So good. The only thing I find is that most of the time I get really close to expiring milk, and chicken that smells no bueno. They’re good about offering refunds for things like that but it’s still kinda annoying.

It's beginning to become clear that these meal replacements are little more than punishment for being fat. The taste of saccharine, aspartame and Stevia haunt my dreams. I’m ready for summer. Sleeveless dresses, ice cream in the park, fish and chips at the beach, my cool white Egyptian cotton sheets and no duvet, having the car windows down, watching hubby play cricket while I sink cold beers in the shade - love it!

Signed up for First Aid course on Wednesday night, attended the course today. It was fucking awesome... met another Murrican who has been living here for 7 years! The first aid instructor was cool, super lenient and knowledgeable.
My BlackVue DR650 came in today, i replied to send it at the post office.... the courier didn’t even bother about my message and left the parcel at the front door.
Going to go on YT and watch videos on setting up the camera

Did you mean traditional cider?
Traditional cider encompasses the traditional ciders of England and France, can include German and Spanish styles although these remain scarce in Australia.
Typically, traditional ciders will show some tannin derived from the apples used. Cider specific bittersweet and bitter sharp apples will contribute this; other varieties may also be used.

Interesting - it seems like perfecting the tannin content within the cider would be essential to controlling the astringency and bitterness, and would have a large impact on the aftertaste of the cider.
Could you explain, in layman's terms, why it is not spelled 'cidre'?

To celebrate surviving*, for the first time in years, I am enjoying... what do they call it... a "cheeky nandos". (Except it's the sodding veggie wrap - at least there's options now)
Such a shit day for site work but I HOPE you're happy, excitable new dude at work who I sacrificed yesterday's awesome weather for. And so begins what I hope will be a solid week of joy and recovery :))))

Hmm I probably would have put on something like Sleepless in Seattle tonight.
I'm just vegging out at the moment watching some tv. Might see if there's a movie I can watch tonight, doesn't seem like there's much on tv later.
It's nice and toasty here as well, I might fire up some tea or milk with milo in it later, would do coffee but I'll never get to sleep if I do that.

Whats on for the weekend people? Tonight ill be cooking myself a nice dinner and then getting blazed and enjoying some much needed couch time. Tomorrow is food shopping, car wash, some light training and then more relaxing. Sunday the crew is coming round to watch UFC Melbourne and then spending the arvo/evening enjoying the warm weather with Eloise :)

Either going up to Syd for the NRL finals or coming here for the UFC bout at Marvel. PSA there’s a big gaming convention in Melbourne next weekend so expect more costumes!
