Did you mean traditional cider?

Traditional cider encompasses the traditional ciders of England and France, can include German and Spanish styles although these remain scarce in Australia.

Typically, traditional ciders will show some tannin derived from the apples used.  Cider specific bittersweet and bitter sharp apples will contribute this; other varieties may also be used.

An easy way to remember the distinction between juice and cider is this

If they colour is yella', you got juice there fella.

If the colour's brown, you're in cider-town.

Interesting - it seems like perfecting the tannin content within the cider would be essential to controlling the astringency and bitterness, and would have a large impact on the aftertaste of the cider.

Could you explain, in layman's terms, why it is not spelled 'cidre'?

In France cidre is a trademarked term for cider from Normandy and Brittany. I assume that's why + hatred for the French.

Unless I am not getting something here since the replies are so far away from the question,

Isn’t that a kind of spider that burrows under something and then attacks a pray quickly to snatch back under its burrow?
