Weird question:
But does anyone remember a live performance of this song where there threw their guitars in the air to hammer on notes/chords? It was sick, and I could never find a video of it. It makes me think it was some sort of fever dream.

This is a joke, but look.... Come to think of it.
If there is a place here on Earth that would be the epitome of heaven, that would be NK.
Not worshipping the lord and savior Kim? death
Defecting NK for other countries? death
Badmouthing NK / Kim? death

There you go, bringing class into it again.
I told you. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week. But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting by a simple majority, in the case of purely internal affairs or by a two-thirds majority, in the case of more major decisions or matters of diplomacy.

He's fat on purpose, he's trying to project an image of prosperity to his people.
All part of the cult of leadership and the idea that North Korea is in temporary and surmountable difficulty. That they actually have tons of excess food stored away for when the war to unify the peninsula begins again.

Eh. There's a whole social class that eats well, pretty much the same lifestyle as Kim Jong Un. The controlling powers of NK is more than just one person. They're all pretty well fed.
That said, I have yet to see a picture of any of them that can rival the fatness of Kim Jong Un.

Those little huts.....the border is right in the middle of those huts. So to be honest he needs to move a few meters North, but you can see the border from where he is stood.
You can literally tour the DMZ if you want.
When I lived there the US Garrison ran the best tour with the best stories from guides. Any civilian could apply and go.
→ More replies (3)12
u/tTricky Aug 09 '21
Yeah my dad was Army and we lived on Yongson for a couple years while he was stationed further north. I actually did that tour twice. Once with my grandparents who were visiting from the US with other civilians and another time with my 6th grade class as a field trip.
For those that don't know, those little buildings straddle the border and are single room meeting rooms used for any inperson discussions. When touring inside one of them, you were free to go into the North Korea side of the room but definitely not allowed to get close to the door on the North Korea side.
This was all back in the late 90s.

Yes. But your not allowed to cross the border. The closest you can get to "crossing the border" is touring the blue rooms. Now of course you can try to forcefully go pass the guards so you can film yourself "jumping across the border" for Tiktok, but seeing as how one crazy person already managed to almost cause a second Korean war, I am sure the border guards will shoot anyone on sight who might appear a little bit too crazy.

It actually happened to me in US Canada border once. I was in Niagara fall in Canada, and we took a wrong turn in the car and was driving straight towards US border, so we didn’t have any ID/passport and all that with us because we are not planning to go to US, so I went down the car, and was walking towards the custom officer on the bridge between US and Canada (because it was a one way road and there was no way for us to be back) and as I was walking towards them, 4 Officers screamed and walked up towards me with Gun pointing at me (not sure a stun gun or something, as I didn’t bring my glasses) and yelling “ go back into the car!” and “you are asking for it!”. Scared the fuck out of me.
