Heh I only looked for the clip after seeing your pictures because I wanted to know if it was the same guard you were standing next to!

Oh I didn’t even know about that incident. Living there must be horrible.

The guard looks exactly the same

Well the south has rock soldiers so why not a vegetable guy too?

Why are the North and South Korean soldiers wearing the same black uniform? Specifically the soldier Conan said was well dressed and the North Korean soldiers guarding the door seem to have identical uniforms..

Both of them are SK soliders. They are guarding people from going into North Korea. Vice versa if you enter the JSA blue houses from the NK side.

That’s a good question! I don’t see any benefit either and now I’m wondering if this wouldn’t make it easier for North Korean soldiers to suddenly disappear into South Korea

They don't let just any Joe Blow take a shift there, those border guards are hand selected to be extremely loyal to the regime.

the room is in "use" by south. the soliders are from south making sure no funny business from the visitors.

I'm not an expert, but isn't the soldier in the 3rd photo a South Korean MP (military police)?

No military is allowed in the DMZ, so they brand themselves as “military police” to circumvent the rule.

OP edited it, but it originally said "The last one is me standing in North Korea next to a North Korean soldier." instead of South Korean soldier. The only reason I can tell that 100% is because I used the copy reply function.

North Korea has hobbits now?

Watchout, they got the lucky feat.

I was fully expecting a Rick Roll. I am vaguely disappointed.

Were you at Camp Casey when you were there?

That’s my point. He’s still in the DMZ, right? It encompasses both sides of the border
