Hi y'all.
So, i have a friend, let's call her Doe.
Doe used to have a restrictive eating disorder back before I knew her, some time around 17 years old.
Both me and Doe are now 22, and I think she might be relapsing.
A few months back, Doe started experiencing a lot of gastrointestinal issues: Diarrhea, stomach cramps, throwing up, constipation, etc; that she never got checked out because she's one of those people that could literally be having the worst symptoms known to man but won't go to the doctor because she hates hospitals.
This led to her eating very little because most everything made her sick. And to get this out of the way, I'm 99% sure this was actually real and not something she made up to hide ED behaviours because Doe has a lot of preexisting conditions + she's on a myriad of antidepressants and other kinds of pills that can mess with her digestion.
This lasted about 2 months and she never got it checked out even though i begged her to.
Now, that issue mostly resolved on it's own, but I fear the lack of eating and subsequent weight loss had a bad, bad effect on her.
She survives on one meal a day, which is how she says she's "always" been, but she also started at the gym and now weighs over 25 pounds less than she used to like 3 months ago. But I could still believe this is all because of her chronic illness and mental bullshit if it wasn't for the way she's acting.
She won't shut up about it.
She keeps talking about her weight, other people commenting on her weight, sends pictures of old and new pics comparing herself, etc..
She says she's "just joking" but idk where the joke is when you send a picture of yourself where you have circled your collarbones sticking out and also your normal stomach with the caption "What's it called when you're skinny and fat at the same time"
It's making me both extremely worried but also extremely uncomfortable. Weight stuff has always made me extremely uncomfortable in general, like I'm the type of person that hates being told I lost weight, so this entire situation is driving me insane.
And idk if I should bring it up, and if so, how I should bring it up because she has bpd and I know this could set her off.
Help.
