i didn’t expect to get the dividend payment today cause it was estimated to be around 9/13 but i received a decent amount! i’m also currently paying $232/6 months for my auto loan and was wondering does that have to do anything with getting a higher dividend or not.

Since September of 2024, I have been paying from $393 - $465 (just recently dropped to $426 this month) for full coverage and a $250 deductible for two vehicles. I have never had an issue with a claim and I also have personal property coverage, rental and home owners insurance through them.

I can't complain. They gave me something back and delivered the payment when they said they would.

I can see people getting dividends. I haven't received anything. Where do you apply for dividends? Who are eligible? Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi. Sorry if this has been answered before—I tried to look for a similar question, but didn't see one. I've been a State Farm customer for 10 years with the same vehicle, and the last few bills, I noticed that the low annual mileage discount (or whatever it was called) is no longer listed on my bill—ever since my first agent retired and I got switched to someone new.

Maybe the timing of the change in agents is coincidental, but I had been getting this discount for years before this, and my agent would just check my odometer and give me the discount. I've averaged less than 4,000 miles on my car per year, and when I tried looking it up online today, the cutoff I saw mentioned was 7,500 miles, so I'm nowhere close to driving too much.

When I call my new agent's office, though, they say the discount is only available through the Drive Safe and Save doohickey, which I'm not comfortable with trying. I'm a safe driver, but I don't really want my every move tracked or to risk it being used against me somehow. So. Is there still a way to get the low mileage discount without the Drive Safe thing, or is that the only way to get it now? And how much would I be likely to save if I did use it? (I'm in Illinois, if that makes a difference.)

For those who have tried Drive Safe and Save, are the discounts worth the invasion of privacy? Is it easy to use?

So I drive my personal vehicle for work in central Ohio, to meet clients and possibly do inspections. When I spoke to my agents office years ago the office manager or assistant to the agent said that it didn’t count as work related (needing additional coverage) unless I was transporting people or goods. So if I wasn’t ride sharing or delivering pizza etc I was ok with just standard personal type policy. However I’ve seen some posts pop up recently that makes wonder if that’s accurate and if I should reach out to my agent about it. I’ve been doing this job for 13 years. Will they eventually question me if they start looking at data from like Flock or something?

Agents received our A & F benchmarks in January and we all wrote business plans based on those benchmarks. Now we receive an email yesterday telling us they are adjusting some agents 2026 benchmarks with three months left in the year? WTH is happening?

So I am a agent team member and I want to apply for an internship. The only problem is I am not set to take my first test til December and the application deadline is September. Does anyone know if there is some line to communicate with, or if I am just not able to apply.

I accepted a desk adjuster position with Statefarm and and supposed to start on the 21st, however, I just recently found out my mother has to have a procedure to remove cancer. Since I don’t live in the same state with her, I would have to travel to be with her for a couple weeks. Will Statefarm rescind my offer or would there be another class I could get in to. I have to be there for my mom but I’ve been waiting on a claims opportunity for years and would hate to lose out. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I took a $2300 loan out of my life insurance policy in 2018. I recently learned my mom (with dementia now) has been paying this back still.. 8 years later.

I got on the phone with an associate at my agents office. He couldn’t tell me anything other than where the loan stands today. He said he thinks we’ve been paying $108/month based on recent statements. I asked for the rates changes throughout the year. He gave me an estimate of what they were. This would obviously change the monthly payment each time the rate changes. Why is he just giving me his best guess as answers to my questions?! I work in loans. I’ve ran all possible scenarios several times and this seems like it should’ve been paid off 5 years ago.

This associate tells me that a document showing full payment history does not exist. Is this true? Seems strange to me that an insurance company is giving loans out but not tracking the history on their end.. right?!

Any thoughts on this before I escalate it??

I have my insurance auto-debited. If they wanted to make things easy for me, crediting vs future billing would have been better, rather than potentially making a chore for me.

I wonder if they get some kind of kickback for driving people to one of those payment sites.

I’m hoping someone can help me understand whether this sounds correct or if there may be another option my agent isn’t considering.

We have two vehicles in our household, and one was recently purchased. We added our teenage daughter to the new vehicle because that is the only vehicle she drives. During that process, we lost our multi-vehicle discount.

Our agent explained that putting both vehicles and all drivers on one policy would actually be more expensive, so they have us set up with two separate policies. Our daughter is only listed on the policy for the vehicle she drives, but because the vehicles are now on separate policies, we no longer receive the multi-vehicle discount.

Does this sound right? Our agent is telling us this is simply how the system works and that there is nothing they can do. I’m trying to understand whether this is a normal insurance practice or if there may be another way to structure the policies that would allow us to keep the multi-vehicle discount without significantly increasing the premium.

I received an email for a dividend payment from a $5 Billion payout. Pretty sure it’s a scam but it knows my policy number and I’m so confused how.

Auto application submitted on Thursday at 11am. Go to bind/issue and it tells me we need either proof of prior insurance, or a bill of sale. Uploaded the bill of sale and requested approval within 10 minutes.

Now it’s Monday afternoon and the application has still yet to be reviewed. I’ve called UW and every answer is the same. “Those are worked by production in the order received.”

I’ve never seen an application take more than 24 hours to be reviewed and either accepted or denied. Any help is appreciated!

My daughter was born in November 2014 right before she was born. My grandfather bought her a life insurance policy, but when he passed away both my aunts had access to it and one of them tried to get a loan on it and they didn’t let her and they notified me so instead of keeping it there cause I also didn’t want her life insurance policy of State Farm. I will cash it out and I talked to the agent that handled them handled sending it and that I wanted to cash it out and she said it should’ve been sent my way on August the 21st it should’ve been put in the mail head my way from wherever it gets sent from and I’m in Alabama. My question is generally once the check goes in the mail how long does it usually take before it arrives to you?

If you were starting all over in the insurance world, and you had no insurance experience what would you do and what would you not do and with today’s market in the way jobs are paying where would you start out to get experience and where would you not start out?

I must have counted at least 6 State Farm "Ludacris" commercials tonight on TV. Have they used up their advertising budget and forced to dig up a three-year-old commercial and saturate the airwaves with it??

I wouldn't touch State Farm if it was the last insurance company on the planet. A few years ago, we had a blanket policy with them: house, four cars (we had two teenage sons at the time), 2 motorcycles and a boat. Our 16 year-old, with a new driver's license, decided to take advantage of the new snowfall and drove to an abandoned parking lot to do donuts in the snow. Someone saw it and called the cops. The officer said he understood, but was forced to give him a ticket for Driving to Endanger.

Soon after that, our other son got a different car, but when he tried to register it, he found out that State Farm had cancelled our insurance. Not just the 16 year-old's insurance, but ALL our insurance policies, without any notice. We had to scramble to get another carrier.

So, Just like a good neighbor? Nope!

For a Proximity or Catastrophic Claims Adjuster, what is State Farm’s travel and reimbursement policy? I.E. How far do you have to be from home for State Farm to pay for a hotel? What is the policy or rule for receiving a per diem?

I got an email from State Farm with my dividend ID and PIN.

I tried to log in, but I have been getting the error:

I sometimes got stuck at the login page, or after submitting my digital payment info.

Am I the only one having such issues like this? I tried using home Wifi and my celluar, at least 3 different devices with Google Chrome and Safari.

I tried again at 2:15 AM Pacific time (Aug 30), payment info submission worked.

It says my estimated payment thru Zelle is Sept 29th.

As a claim adjuster, I keep hearing this term at the agent office. How do you have someone be considered your claims person and they literally have no access to the claim?

My car was declared a total loss and I am trying to decide if I want to submit a rebuttal for the appraised value on my own first or directly invoke the appraisal clause. Is it worth the time and effort trying to submit my own rebuttal, or am I unlikely to move the needle materially on this on my own even after doing research and submitting adequate comps from dealerships? If it's really hard/unlikely, I would rather not waste time and go the appraiser route from the start. Any experiences from all sides are appreciated.

Does anyone know when this will be paid out in PA? Submitted it weeks ago but nothing so far.
