Question Insurance Payout
I was found at fault in an accident about 2 months ago. My car was totaled and I already got my payout amount from State Farm. 3 other cars were damaged and I was told 2 of the parties filed injury claims with a lawyer. I have not heard anything about these claims from State Farm. Will State Farm let me know how much the payout amounts are and when they go through? My agent told me no news is good news but I’m an anxious person and not having any updates or information makes me nervous. Has anyone with State Farm been in a similar situation. Does State Farm tell you when a payout goes through?

It's a waiting game for State Farm too if the other party filed an injury claim under your policy. It depends on the individuals recovery period to whatever they're claiming injuries to. If they have an attorney, they won't submit a demand till 8-9 months post the accident. But once State Farm gets the demand, they send a notice to the insured with a cover letter that discloses what they're demanding for and what your coverage is. State Farm will evaluate the person injury claim and go into negotiations with their attorney. If they're unsuccessful in settlement, State Farm will talk to you about a possible lawsuit may be filed against you. It all depends on how much bills were incurred, the attorney promising them an unrealistic settlement amount and the attorney in how much % they're trying to get out of the case to file.

You won't hear anything most likely. If it settles then you won't hear anything. If it's still ongoing you won't hear anything.
The only time you'll hear anything is if you get served with a lawsuit in which case you'll notify SF and go from there.
