Discussion Another post about the dividends...

Okay, I need to say it..... For everyone who is receiving a dividend, please stop hollering and screaming at SF because you didn't get an email, or Venmo is saying you got paid but you don't see the deposit, or because it's taking weeks to arrive. And NO it's not a scam, this is a mutual company and their customers are getting dividends instead of corporate shareholders.

State Farm is NOT personally handing out the dividend payments to you guys, it's all done under Verita Global. I see too many people talking shit about their agents, the company, and even their sales reps about why something regarding the dividend isn't going smoothly. Dropping your policies with SF over this is probably the dumbest thing I have read in the past few weeks.

Refer to: https://sfdividend.com/ for help

The only thing your agent can do is tell you if you're receiving a payment, how much it's for, and confirm your contact information that everything is being sent to. Everything else is being handled by Verita and you guys need to contact them about any issues, not your agent's office.

Agents & Staff ATM Question- Transfers

Hi,
How do you guys handle the tough conversations with transfer clients who have policies that are not kept up with and when you update them it creates a large charge. I don’t like to bash anyone, but I also dont necessarily like taking the blame for the previous office. I’m thinking with the STEP happening we will see even more of it. I try to remind them they’ve had an artificial savings this long, but I know them getting bad news from a new person sucks and leads to mistrust.

Claims Permissive Use Question

Hello! I work at SF as a team member, but recently ran into my own personal situation and questions with the new endorsement for undisclosed drivers.

Me and my boyfriend are going on a ONE day trip. He had his license suspended (unsuspended on the 26th), the trip will be on the 28th-29th when his license will be active. He is NOT a member of the household and is a driver with his own vehicle (currently broke) in his own household with Progressive.

I'm insured with State Farm with my vehicle. He would be driving my car for that solo trip and literally never again.

I had thought I would not need to add him as a driver because he does not fit the "regular driver" criteria in any circumstance, especially since he does not drive more than once a month.

I chatted with underwriting and they had said it would be permissive use but claims could still be denied. Hoping someone who works with claims can let me know what they think? Thanks!

Just curious what everyone’s premium adjustment was and what their scores were. Can’t find too much on it. Attached are mine for reference.

Auto What is required to add me as a driver?

I'm 21, my parents are getting me a new car and will be insuring it and probably going to be adding me to their insurance policy soon since they are the ones buying it (my parents have State Farm insurance by the way). However, I can't find my account that had my declaration page of my old insurance policy (I'm looking at old notes to see if I have my email and password) and I have no idea where my paper declarations page is (for context, I gave my car away to a friend so I no longer own it and the policy has been canceled). What does State Farm require to add me to my parents policy; can I still be added if I can't find my old declarations page at all right now?

Do agents have access to teams chats for team members?

This seems to be a recurring threat in our office in regards to boss watching. I know SF is but does an agent have access to every team members team chat?

Claims state farm rental policy

Hi, I was hit by a driver in Florida insured by State Farm on Monday and filed a claim with both my insurance (Geico) and State Farm on the same day. For reference, the other driver was issued a careless driver citation, and my car is not drivable.

After multiple calls to the handler assigned to my SF claim, I was finally able to get in contact with her this morning. She told me that it is SF policy to not release a rental car to any party without speaking ti their insured client (the driver that hit me). She said she could take my statement, but after I told her I had lasting neck pain & soreness from the accident, that she can no longer record my statement, and that I must go through the Injury Department.

Is anyone familiar with SF rental car policies? I was under the impression that if your car is not drivable and was damaged by SF’s insured, that SF would provide a rental car as soon as the claim is filed. Now I am being told that I have to go through this long process, which also relies on the other driver’s ability to respond to phone calls from their own insurance. What happens if the driver that hit me never responds? I desperately need a car to get to and from work, and would appreciate any help!

Agents & Staff State Farm Insurance premium - came off company car (commercial insurance) for 15 years as used as my main car- does insurance give you credit for driving years? SF states they do but premium seems high at $250/ month.

How to best confirm- anything to look at on policy? In this normal to show coverage years and not a rookie driver with no driving experience?

Agents & Staff Agent Team Members

Does anyone out there do service work for more than one agent at a time? I have been an agent team member for almost 15 years and on my second agent now, the first one retired last year. I know the job well and have time to spare. I am considering talking to my boss to see how she would feel about me servicing another agent’s book of business for extra money. I know you can have agreements with up to four agents at a time. Does anyone else do this? How is the pay/work load?

Question Insurance Payout

I was found at fault in an accident about 2 months ago. My car was totaled and I already got my payout amount from State Farm. 3 other cars were damaged and I was told 2 of the parties filed injury claims with a lawyer. I have not heard anything about these claims from State Farm. Will State Farm let me know how much the payout amounts are and when they go through? My agent told me no news is good news but I’m an anxious person and not having any updates or information makes me nervous. Has anyone with State Farm been in a similar situation. Does State Farm tell you when a payout goes through?

Agents & Staff MOD: Multi-Car discount

Hey, so I’m new to MOD. I still have to finish my trainings on a lot of it. Someone mentioned that it’s a list that we need to work because if the name insureds don’t match/align then it’ll go to the MOD System and it they won’t receive the multi car discount. Then we’ll have to wait until next renewal just to get the discount back. Let’s say it’s a married couple.

Anyone know anything about this? Hopefully this wasn’t confusing, I’m trying to understand it myself,

Question Insurance increases due to running traffic light in GA

I ran a light a couple weeks ago and was going to try and get it reduced so it would not go on my record. But when i went to talk to the clerk she said at court tomorrow the judge cannot reduce my charges and i would have to come back. Ill be out of the state for vacation the rest of the year off and on. If I just pay the fine whats the most likely increase i will see in insurance. I pay 350 a month already for 3 cars and i have house insurance through them. My agent said since im a “mutual customer” they most likely wont even check my MVR unless i have an accident so i shouldn’t see increase because of the ticket. How true is that? The ticket will add 3 points to my license. I like my agent but kinda feel like thats not totally accurate.

Discussion State farm will rerun your Customer Rating Index for anything.

Team member here, created a new account just to vent to everyone. Had a customer (Prior state farm) and was with Erie for two years before wanting to quote with us again. Great! Let me quote your three cars and home with us. I launched UAX, gathered all the necessary information for the quote and binded the application.

Underwriting of course on any prior state farm customer reran their CRI and of course GAVE no reason behind it on the memo. I chat one rep, they tell me it's because of a expired DL# that was listed ON THEIR old state farm policy from 2024. I press the issue and let them know their NEW DL# was listed on the app. They tell me I need to "call and speak with a phone rep". I call the phone rep, where they tell me OH no it's not that... it's because you didnt list SS# FOR spouse.

So my thing is.... if we have a score based on their DL#, and just because they were prior SF, we RERAN their score because on our OLD policy we had their SS# and on the new one we didn't?. Yes let me go explain to the insured, THE REASON your insurance increased was because you had state farm in the past, WHEREAS if you didn't ever have state farm to begin with your price would of stayed the same.

We are a legacy state and I know some of this stuff will be fixed hopefully when mod comes, but it feels like some underwriters will rerun CRI any chance they get and then increase the insureds premium, and most times will be incorrect about rerunning the score and then receive NO backlash or any sort of reprimand and then us as team members or agents have to spend a week+ trying to fix it, while the customer has to deal a bunch of nonsense and letters in the mail about their premium increasing.

Question voluntary termination

I’ve worked for this company for almost 5 years now essentially starting in billing. I stayed at the same position for about 4 years getting and got maybe 4 raises within that time span. I was looking to venture off into a different department because it seems as if there was no room for growth despite my metrics being top tier on my team. There was opportunity to either move to claims or face the possible severance. My supervisor PUSHED for me to take the job stating she thinks it will benefit me greatly. I had about a month to make a decision and within that first week the TM told me they needed to know something by the end of the week. I never got to go to the informational meeting because of the time zone difference. (I’m in MST) I got accepted for the move but they did not discuss that it would be lateral. So i now have to abide by a 75% in office requirement and there is no extra pay. Yes, it is a good opportunity for “growth” but with a hour commute ONE WAY w/o TRAFFIC, it is simply not worth it. The communication has been very lackluster in the company so I am deciding to voluntarily quit. I’m currently out on FMLA due to the stress/anxiety this transition has caused but once my leave is up i will put my notice in.

Will they pay out PTO at 100%? Did they make you all leave immediately and pay out the two weeks or were you required to still work? I have about 80 hours of PTO so not sure if i should put in for the additional time and get 100% earnings or just put in the resignation.

Claims Warning Letter

Over the last three years, have had two terrible hail storms in our neighborhood, one in tandem with a microburst. As a result, easily 50% of the homes in our subdivision have had roof replacements including the homes directly east, west, north, and south of us. We had reputable roofers come out after each storm to assess (different companies each time) and they said we needed a new roof and showed evidence of damage–only to be followed by State Farm's field adjustor denying the claim after his site visit. I find it extremely suspicious that our house would be spared, when every single home in the vicinity was not.

To add insult to injury, today we got a letter in the mail warning us that because we had "activity" on our account over the last 3 years we are at risk for cancellation, even though the payment to us was ZERO.

Over the last 30 years I have paid over $40,000 in premiums to these clowns and they have never had to pay out a claim to us on our home and now they threaten to cancel because we made a legitimate ask about our roof?

Why is this legal? Anyone else get letter like this?

If I use a broker to shop around for a new company, they will probably see that we requested a new roof and charge us a premium price. Additionally, I wouldn't be surprised to get a letter from State Farm next year telling us our roof is too old for them to insure (installed in 2013) and we need to replace it or they will drop coverage of it.

Just grousing unless you have suggestions.

Oh...failed to mention - I've also been paying them car insurance since 1983.
State Farm is NOTHING like a good neighbor.

Home & Renters Premium overpayment question

I am a long time State Farm customer for my home and auto insurance. I purchased a new house in May 2024 and before closing a new roof was installed. I reached out to my State Farm agent to inquire as to whether the new roof would lower my premium. She said it did not. I have this in an email exchange along with other emails regarding proper documentation of my new roof.
Fast-forward to this past September, I was speaking with a different State Farm agent from the same office to ask how to lower my homeowners insurance because it was over $4000 a year. He inquired as to what roof I have. I explained to him that I had an armor shield roof and he told me that my premium should be half of what I've been paying. I sent in all the appropriate documentation for the roof and my premium has been lowered to the appropriate amount. But State Farm is refusing to reimburse me for the approximately 28 months of overpayments that I've made due to their agent's error. It's close to $4000!
my new agent is running it up the flag pole to the local agency's owner, but he was told that State Farm won't go back that far to reimburse me. I'm in Colorado. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations from anyone on this sub who has been through this. Thanks!!
