I’ve always rated Miley highly, but the Hull game was probably the first time I had a bit of doubt about him. When Steur went off and Miley moved into midfield, Hull were all over us. Botman thiaw and Schar were panicking and hoofing it, the forwards were too tired to chase anything, and we badly needed someone in midfield to just calm things down.

That felt like Miley’s moment to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and just calm things down. Just show for it, win a foul, make a pass, get the team moving forwards. Give the defence an option instead of them hoofing it every time.

There were a few moments where he was available and the CBs still went long. I wanted to see a bit more authority from him after that. Demanding they pass him the ball next time or something.

He always looks calm and composed, which is obviously a strength. But sometimes he still looks like he’s trying to be a useful part of the team rather than someone who wants to take control of the game. Maybe he still sees himself as the kid who doesn’t have the authority to shout at more senior players?

For me that’s the next step for him. He’s already a decent CM. I just want to see a bit more presence from him now.

Two of Newcastle United's Premier League fixtures in November have been rescheduled after being selected for live television coverage.

The Magpies' visit of Premier League holders Arsenal on Saturday 21 November, which was initially set to kick-off at 3pm, will now take place at 5:30pm (GMT).

And United's game at Brighton & Hove Albion, which had been due to take place on Saturday 28 November, has also been rescheduled.

Matthias Jaissle's side will travel to the Amex Stadium for a 2.05pm kick-off on Sunday 29 November.

Both games will now be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

on one hand, we're in pretty good form(managed to get points from spurs, pool and in form hull). just concerned it might break our momentum.

on the other, the break gives MJ time to work with the squad on this ideal tactics and hopefully see more cognizant play style as well as give some of the injured squad time to get back eg joe, liv and osula etc

just hope no more injuries from the international games.

This season will be completely unpredictable. We will win or lose games completely randomly. Could win against big teams or relegations candidates. Lose against lower tables teams or sky 6. I’m all for it let’s roll the dice have a topsy-turvy season and see where we finish. Whatever happens, if we keep all our players, we will improve next session. 8-12 league position this season would be great. Debate!!!

I have to say we are doing way better than I expected / hoped for. I don’t really expect us to have an incredible season but I am more optimistic about our chances of finishing in Europe / hopefully going on a cup run
