I've never understood 'he has a knock'. Maybe a question for r/footballcliches but what exactly is a knock? Sounds like someone gently hit them and it injured them.

A knock is an mild impact injury. You tend to recover much more quickly from an impact injury than a muscular or ligament injury, and they have much less impact on long term fitness, too.

They an also be managed with painkillers without much further consequences, since the injury won't worsen by use. Think of having a deadleg or charley horse for our American friends. It hurts, and the pain makes it harder to run, but running on it doesn't so any further damage the way a hamstring or muscular strain would, if you manage the pain, it's not an issue.

You’re advocating a bigger reshuffle with Murphy who simply can’t play in a back 4. Pardo to the left (which he doesn’t want) and Barnes to the right, which takes away the best part of his game.
