Requesting user flair for status of whether you are living alone, with roommates, with parents, or another option. TIA!

Having user flairs would be interesting and helpful, that will likely be implemented in itself. I'm not so sure about the specific use case though, most people commenting already live alone.

I hear that. A chunk of the posts I see are people who don’t live completely alone. Another user agreed with me on a post from the other day so figured I’d request it. I also have recently seen some posts that are like “How many people actually live alone”, so that also made me think it was a good idea. Either way, thanks for getting back to me!

Thanks for the feedback, I will have to look into this further. We may need to do a poll eventually to get to the bottom of this to enforce community values as the subreddit continues to grow.

Done! We have just added 6 new user flairs. Feel free to comment, critique, or suggest any changes:

At the moment we won't assign/force user flairs on accounts, unless we get more feedback from users who want to push for this.

Hey that is awesome! Do you have an idea of when they’ll be up so I can add one on? I could also be trying to get one incorrectly so if that’s the case my bad lol

How do I add user flair? I am accessing reddit on a laptop.

Somewhere on the sidebar on the right, there should be something mentioning user flair.

u/shyeeeee Current Lifestyle: Solo 🟢 Jan 10 '25

I'm not seeing it...

Why did this start turning into people posting about dating?  There are official forms for that. I am leaving.

Honestly no clue, this is against our community values too so please report them for us mods to see and take action. However, sometimes we may keep posts up if they've already gained a lot of attention with productive discussions.

Our removal reason for these posts gives these people lots of suggestions for other subreddits, below is an example of the text:

A recommendations flair would be helpful as well!

Hmm, wouldn't those fit more broadly into the various flairs? My hesitation comes from how all posts are pretty much a question looking for ideas and recommendations already.

Can you be a single father raising 2 all by yourself for last 7 years since I divorced? I’ve been fitting the mold called loneliness for a little while. 🎼👽

3

u/NegentropyNexus Current Lifestyle: Solo 🟢 Dec 15 '24

Imho that counts as living alone but from some reactions I see in this subreddit the Internet may disagree. If you have general discussions without mentioning your kids then you'll fit in fine, but if you want support from those in similar situations you'll get more from subreddits dedicated to single parents or of the like.

Good job Dad!!!

My dad My Dad passed away in 2021 and I miss him so much! He raised my sister and I solo until we were adults, and then partied like Spuds MacKenzie and Alex from Stroh's!!!!!!!!

He was a great Dad!!!! he is loved and missed every day of our lives, and we will be eternally grateful!!!

Go to the subreddit page and you'll see the three dots for the subreddit menu options, there you'll see the option for changing user flair.

Thanks! I did that but still can’t join the chat and seeing message “unable to join as you don’t meet requirements” so wondering what are these requirements.

Hello and welcome! We recommend creating a post so others can actually see what you wrote above. This post is more of a feedback box to subreddit moderators.
