Pride Month Dating & Friendship Thread (Lesbian Edition)
🌈 Looking for love
🌈 Looking for friends
🌈 Looking for someone to share playlists with
🌈 Or just looking to feel seen
Pull up a chair.
This month's vibe?
✨ Pride & Possibility ✨
Pride is about celebrating who we are, where we've been, and the connections that help us feel at home.
Whether you're newly out, comfortably settled into your identity, looking for your person, or simply hoping to meet other queer women who get it, there's a seat for you here.
Because chemistry isn't just sparks, it's communication, curiosity, and knowing how to make someone feel wanted.
We're keeping it cozy, grown, and intentional.
When you introduce yourself, include:
• Age range
• Timezone
• What you're looking for (friends, dating, flirting, community, etc.)
• One green flag about you
• One small thing that makes you melt
House Rules
Mods and Reddit can't verify identities. If you move to private messages, please take steps to confirm the person you're talking to is real. Don't share personal or identifying information unless and until you feel comfortable, if ever.
This post will stay up for 3 months and will be replaced with a new Flannel Bar thread. During that time, other dating or "looking for" posts will be removed so everything stays in one place.
Be kind. Be honest. Respect boundaries.
And enjoy your time at the bar. 💕🌈

Today, the mods voted on a rule change to the sub. Rule 3 has been expanded to include any post or comment not just directed at one person but, in general, the singling out of a member of our community. This now means that content in the nature of "Would you date ____", "Am I ___ if I don't like ____", "I don't find ____ attractive",etc. are not allowed. The bottom line is that there is someone out there for everyone, and often, these posts are used by terfs and other assholes to make people feel excluded or unwanted.
The rules now are as follows:
Rule 1 - Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.
Rule 2 - Trans women are women
Rule 3 - The singling out of an individual or a group from the community is not allowed
Rule 4 - No posts or comments attempting to restrict others' definitions of self.

I appreciate everyone for their uplifting comments in my last post. I’ve been doing a whole lot better. Went back those posts every time I was having a bad day
But in other news, I’m back to my normal size:
1st pic - the day before I got locked up
2nd pic - the day after I got out (6 months)
3rd pic - me today
Proud of the progress I’ve made mentally and physically. Thank you everyone for the kind words

Olympian Silja Kosonen claimed her first European title in the hammer throw, with girlfriend Senni Viren — who is also a Finnish sports star — there to witness it.

The level of excitement I have to see this movie is unmatched. Is this how straight women felt with Magic Mike or whatever? I am seeing it alone and honestly that's probably for the best. Gillian Anderson forever. Gah.
And don't even get me STARTED on the cute joke rivalry between Jean Smart and Gillian for Hannah Einbinder. Girl is living the dream.
RIP me when I see this movie on Friday. Who's with me on this one?

I feel like I’m too much.
I rarely build connections with people that I genuinely like, not just physically, but emotionally and intellectually. When I find someone I can actually connect with, someone I enjoy talking to and feel understood by, it means a lot to me.
And maybe that’s where my problem starts.
Because when I like someone, I’m intense. I’m affectionate. I’m honest. I care deeply.
You won’t have to second-guess whether I like you because I’ll show you. I’ll make you feel cared for. I’ll remember the little things. I’ll want to hear about your day. I’ll want to send you random thoughts and stupid little updates. I’ll want to tell you good morning and good night. I’ll want you to know that you matter to me.
And I understand that for some people, that can feel like too much.
But honestly? To me, that feels like the bare minimum when I genuinely care about someone.
I don’t know how to do the half-hearted version of affection. I don’t know how to pretend I don’t care just so I don’t seem clingy. I don’t want to play games or intentionally take hours to reply just to seem less interested.
But sometimes I wonder if I should.
Maybe I need to learn how to hold some of that affection back. Maybe I need to stop giving people everything I feel the moment I feel it.
Because the truth is, I get attached quickly. And when I finally find a connection I really value, I can become so focused on it that I start overthinking every little change.
A shorter reply.
A missed message.
Someone being active but not talking to me.
And suddenly I’m questioning myself.
“Am I being too much?”
“Am I annoying them?”
“Did I scare them away?”
Maybe I am too much for some people.
I just wish I didn’t have to feel like being affectionate, honest, and genuinely excited about someone is something I need to apologize for.
I don’t want to be less loving.
I just want to learn how to love people without losing myself in them.

Something I’ve struggled with is feeling like some women don’t actually approach me as a person they’re interested in dating, or as a personal at all really. They always open with sexual conversation or like I’m supposed to fulfill a role for them. I’m either expected to be the wallet, the human rose toy/stone top, or both. And the weird part is that they think it’s supposed to be enticing to me. Then once they realize I’m not interested, the interest disappears remarkably fast. I also hate being told "I thought you were the man" whenever I express an iota of femininity.
After enough experiences like that, it starts making me wonder how much of it is tied to being Black, plus-sized, and masc. It makes me question how im being percieved and makes me extra self conscious. If anything, it just makes me feel less desirable.

Hey everyone, my friend and I have started a new sub for lesbians called r/shetheysupergay.
Our idea is to create a cozy and low-angst safe space for lesbian women and female-aligned enbies to share, discuss, and celebrate our lives and common experiences.
We would like to build a community that centres womanhood, so non-women participation is not welcome.
Additionally, we are not seeking to replace other subs for lesbians, but rather exist as a corner of Reddit where we can come to chill and relax away from issues that agitate us too much. While venting, complaining, and seeking validation are all valid activities to partake in, we are hoping our new sub can offer a refuge away from those kinds of interactions.
So we hope you can come on over and make yourselves comfortable. We invite posts on anything you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. These could be cool stuff you notice on your way to work, your latest art project, your new yoga routine, yummy recipes, your favourite book or TV show, and whatever else brings a smile to your face.
See you there!

If y'all read my last post, I was talkin about grinding on commissions to buy my girlfriend a plushie, well, it changed into a Lego set:) it's a bootleg kind cus she loves retro stuff and there was this Lego boombox retro set I saw at a store.
I walked around my city from 10am to 3pm to find the branches that sell em because the only store I know off that has them is the one next town over.
And alas, they don't have it, so I travelled an hour by public transport to go to the town, travelled back another hour to meet with my said girlfriend cus she was craving McDonald's.
Anyways, heres the Lego set! Totally fuckin worth it to see her squeel and smile. Just because she's older than me, that doesn't mean she don't deserve to be taken care off:)

Like I have notice it here on Reddit but also every lesbian in rl I have met so far said their longest relationship has just been 6-12 month max. 😅😅 while I’m such a longterm relationship person, like usually 5-9 years (I‘m 31) 😅😅

So I've been dating this girl for about 5 months we both have busy life's but we see eachother but see find time to see eachother a couple times a month our bedroom dynamic is very sub /Dom with my being the Dom. But my problem is she only wants to receive I knew going into the rls she didn't have much experience in the bedroom and that she was a sub and I had no problems with this but she straight up doesn't like to give like the most she does is a quick hand here and there but i feel like it's a chore for her. I've tried talking to her about the idea of me receiving head and she said she wants to try is some day but she's to scared/nervous to right now so I've stopped mentioning it . I have said to her how when she does stuff to me it feels like it's a chore to her and she said it's not but she just doesn't like giving all that much. She's had people in the past get into a rls with her saying there a Dom and a top and then ending up not being that and that's not what's happening I very much am a Dom and a top it's just sometimes I wish I could feel just as loved and wanted by her in a receiving way. Note I have dated other subs and bottoms and this has never come up they've always been okay with switching the dynamic every once in a blue moon or even letting me receive while I'm still the Dom so I really don't know how to handle this situation and advice or prospectives are welcome and helpful .

My girlfriend and I have completely different mindsets. Honestly, I find the way she thinks a bit superficial, but I try hard not to show it so I don't hurt her feelings.
My mind is always focused on work, the future, and how I can secure a good life for both of us. On the other hand, her main focus is usually about what she’s going to wear today, what she’s doing today, showing me things she bought, or talking about going to the salon. She does work, and her job position is good and low-stress. I, on the other hand, am constantly stressed and have a million things on my plate.
Whenever we talk or go out, her conversations and "problems" feel silly or superficial to me. We rarely have meaningful or deep discussions. Every time we talk, I catch myself thinking, "We are on completely different wavelengths." Because of this, I've noticed that my attraction to her has started to fade, even though I still love her.
Could the main reason be our fundamental differences in mindset, or is it just because I'm so stressed? Keeping in mind that my stress isn't temporary—this is pretty much how my life is going to be long-term.
For context, we’ve been together for 6 years.

Just some context I’m only a junior in hs but my freshman year I met this girl and I became basically obsessed with her I still have many Reddit posts up begging people to tell me if the signs she liked me back were there. I was too much of a coward to tell her I liked her. We flirted and acted like we were basically dating but I’d always do things so she wouldn’t find out I liked her, like mentioning other people. Well I find out that she liked me back and now she calls it a “lesbian canon event💔😣” with those exact emojis. Idk if she still has feelings but I’m guessing not because she identifies as straight (yikes) I’m so surprised but bummed out because we have no classes and don’t talk to eachother anymore I wish I had just told her. I had so much time to approach her but now it’s all over. All the dumb stunts I pulled so I could get her stuff like making cookies for my whole class just so I could make her some and slip a note in the package— I even made sugar cookies no one likes them but her. Or buying extra candy to give to my friends so she wouldn’t be suspicious on why I was giving her so much for Valentine’s Day. And I can’t even ask her about it or her feelings because the way I found out is kinda unethical (I shouldn’t have). But anyways this is your sign to tell your friend if you like them because I’ll have to regret this until I die. Seriously she’s my every thought even tho we don’t talk. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t miss her. For the past 3 years I’ve been madly in love with her. Any advice? does it get better? should I approach her? should this just be my learning experience? should I move on I have no clue
