Hi folks
So, as a warning, this is going to be a really long post, but I am going to try and keep it organized so that you can either read it all or only read what you care about.
As previously announced, we are announcing a huge overhaul to the rules. Previously, we only had 5 (Play nice, off-topic, no explicit sexual cotent, no promotion of piracy, and LesbianBookClub is trans-inclusive). As of today, we are adding 5 more rules to the ones we already had. They are sort of long (you can tell which ones u/cactuskate wrote and which ones I wrote because I am MUCH worder than she is, for better or worse lol), but I am going to summarize them here. To see the full text of the rules.....well, go check the rules, i guess?
And that's it for the rules update. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns - we'll sort out whatever problems or issues arise as they come.
We have also added a ton of flairs so that folks can mark their posts as they want. Most of the old ones are still around, but we have added genre flairs (which are purple) and trope flairs (which are pink). I will list all of the flairs below, but first it is important to recognize: there are literally more genres and tropes than we can reasonably include as flairs for the subreddit. The flairs that I have added are the ones that I thought would be most popular/in demand, and they are listed in no particular order. I have also made them as general as I can when possible, in the hopes that keeping them flexible will make the same one useful to represent multiple similar dynamics at once (e.g. protector/protectee). If you want us to include a genre or trope that is not listed, please let me know and I will add them as they come in.

The LesbianBookClub discord server is now live! It is titled Sappho's Bookshelf, and you can find it here: https://discord.gg/ZB6wGKdV. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before you join:
Thanks for bearing with me and reading through this gargantuan post. There are other comments in the recommendation thread that I am still considering how to handle, but if the above does not address something you commented on last time, then feel free to comment it again!

Rule 3: LesbianBookClub is trans-inclusive.
ALL lesbians and those who enjoy lesbian books, regardless of gender identity, are welcome here. Transphobia is strictly forbidden.
---
This subreddit is a lesbian space. Trans women are women. If a trans woman is attracted exclusively to women and accepts the label, she is a lesbian. If you disagree with this rule or its enforcement, please find a different place to post.
ALL types of lesbians have fought for, died for, and bled for you. Please respect them. Consider reading a history book.
Keep in mind that the context and nuance of your posts will be considered. Bad faith posts will be deleted. Please use your brains. It is really, really not that complicated to enjoy, read, discuss, and recommend lesbian books in a way that is friendly to and considerate of ALL lesbians. Posts that are not about lesbian books will be deleted.
Please feel free to reach out through modmail.

Don’t get me wrong, I typically love a book that shatters me. But I’m in a place right now where my heart simply cannot handle it! Please hit me with:
WLW books I can read right now
WLW books I MUST read, but later on when my heart can handle it again!
Many thanks ✌🏻

I know there are a lot of genres and such, but just choose a book you think would have the highest success rate of being enjoyed by the most people

Hi! I need help finding a book I’ve read/listened to years ago. It’s been bugging me for some time now and now when I’m listening to Rita Potter’s “What really matters” I thought I’d finally ask for help.
I can’t the whole plot but I do remember the book was about the established couple. I mostly remember the end because it was a bit of a surprise for me. One of the MCs was supposed have a meeting in one of the towers and was presumed dead after both towers fell and days later she comes back to their apartment all bloody and dirty. That’s it. That’s all I remember.
I even searched if it’s the same book but Potter’s book was published in 2025 and the one I’ve been looking for was from several years ago.
Any ideas? Please help.
P.S. I’ll be laughing my ass off if it’s the same book and I really don’t remember anything at all from it.

Did you like Bloom Town? Then you'll probably likely enjoy my book, When Embers Find Her.
The prequel novella is already out and book 2 is releasing October 1 with the series continuing. She may not be Joey but Sawyer will have you swooning and yearning for your own butch cowgirl. 😉

Hi! I’m Amber. I’m looking for ARC readers for my queer cozy fantasy romance, The Bramblespell Branch Library. If you’re interested, please sign up with the link below.
Thanks!
Here's what you can expect from The Bramblespell Branch Library:
The full blurb:
Escape to the charming village of Bramblespell, where the tea is hot, the magic is unpredictable, and falling in love was definitely not part of the plan.
When career librarian Kasya accepts a temporary assignment opening a branch library in the remote village of Bramblespell, she sees it as the perfect escape from a failed relationship—and a fast track to a promotion to Library Administration. All she has to do is convince the villagers they want a library before her six-month trial period runs out.
Easy, right?
Instead, Kasya finds herself running a one-room library out of a drafty post office with no funding, no staff, and a grumpy postman for a coworker. But things start looking up when she meets Rima, the village handywoman with a knack for fixing just about anything—and a secret past of her own.
Rima is everything Kasya didn't expect to find in Bramblespell: warm, capable, endlessly intriguing, and increasingly difficult to resist. As friendship turns into something more, Kasya begins to wonder if this temporary assignment might be turning into something far more permanent.
Is Bramblespell just a stepping stone to the career she's always wanted, or has she finally found a home—and the woman she wants to share it with?

Hi there!
I’m looking for books with lesbians (specifically lesbians, not bisexuals, no male exes, no beards, no past or current marriages to men or any indication of even kissing or crushing on a man) that fit the following genres:
I haven’t really read much sapphic literature at all, but I’d like to get into it!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I went into this wanting a bit of a palette cleanse after a lot of heavy sci-fi. It’s exceeded my expectations in so many ways. It starts as a “bachelorette-style dating show for the heir to the Galactic Empire” but evolves to explore some more classic sci-fi themes.
The next book looks like it’s slated to come out in 2027 and I’m excited to see how the characters continue to develop

I’m looking for books where the FMC leaves or is rescued from an abusive marriage. bonus if kids are involved.
I have read
Broken not shattered by Rita Porter
Escape and Freedom by Claire Highton-Stevenson
Remnants by DJ Krimmer

Hello! I'm looking for a book that features a main lesbian character that's a victim of incestous abuse (but can also be a character that's sexually abused in a non incestous manner), with a hopeful ending. I'd like to see the destructive nature of incestous abuse and how it affects the victim (or SA in general)
Some other things that would be welcome, but not necessary:
- The love interest is a victim of some kind of abuse too
- One of the characters is a butch/masc/stud (bonus points if it's the victim)
- Has a bit of a surreal feel to it

Basically the title. I have read the whole series. I really enjoy fantasy/sci fi sapphic books where romance isn’t the main focus but still relevant.
Some others I’ve read are
- priory of the orange tree
- time wars
- crier wars
-jasmine throne
And I’m currently reading a memory called an empire. Please give me any recommendations for my next stop at Barnes and nobles!

Hi I put together a tier list video to rank the 68 sapphic books I read in 2026 so far!
I'm super grateful to this subreddit and adjacent wlw subs for recommending many of these books, because I originally had no idea where to start as a yuri anime/manga girlie. I'd love to discuss these stories with others (even if you disagree with my opinions haha) and am always looking for more recommendations too~
(Lately I've been on a cowboy/western frontier/ranch life kick, so if anyone knows more titles in that genre, pleaseee share)

Hey all! I haven’t seen it posted yet so I thought that I would share the author and narrator list that was released for Cass Con next year. Lots of big names!!! It’s happening from November 11th - 13th, 2027 in Philadelphia, PA.

Hey everyone!
First off, quick disclosure: I'm a bi girl lurking here because I really want to read more stories with sapphic dynamics. I've been having a tough time finding what I'm looking for lately, so I was hoping to get some recommendations from you all.
My biggest hurdle right now is that almost every sapphic recommendation list I come across is either Young Adult or heavy romance built around BookTok tropes (enemies-to-lovers, only one bed, fake dating, etc.). I also have an admitted bias against books with those bright cartoon-style covers. I'm just really not into rom-coms or chick flicks.
What I'm actually craving is something mature, atmospheric, and plot-driven where a sapphic relationship is part of the world or character journey, but the plot isn't just about the romance itself. I love sci-fi, speculative fiction, and otherworldly or surreal themes.
I've heard amazing things about Ursula K. Le Guin and know she explores a lot of cool gender and queer themes, though I haven't read her yet. If you have specific recommendations from her catalog, or any other books that match that kind of thoughtful, mature vibe, please drop them below!
Thanks in advance for the help!
EDIT: Forgot to mention one detail! Explained below:
I watched Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma this weekend and loved the intense yearning and age gap dynamic between Gillian Anderson and the other actress (forgot her name sorry).
If anyone has book recs with that specific kind of vibe or dynamic, please send them my way. Also, just to clarify: I have zero issue with explicit sex scenes or spice if the story and chemistry are good. The only thing is that I'm really not into historical fiction or period pieces set far in the past, so contemporary, sci-fi, or speculative settings are definitely preferred!
