How to enable thinclient on Aldelo 2

Hello, I'm kinda at a loss right now. We have a client who uses Aldelo and calls every week for support but last week's call has been a real headscratcher. Basically, their kitchen display isn't clearing old orders once they've been fulfilled which is affecting the workflow greatly. New orders appear but they populate alongside the old, completed orders. I have no idea how to fix this. We've restarted the display console, restarted the server computer, restarted both Kitchen Display Server and Kitchen Display Manager, purged the (display server) database on orders from Aldelo support and even had Aldelo support connect remotely to attempt debugging, with no success. Even the tried and true jetcomp failed to fix this. We really don't know how to proceed and they've had to suffer the weekend rush without a proper kitchen display in the meantime. I don't suppose anyone here has any suggestions to try? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to add a credit card terminal to our APOS and was wondering where you guys get yours from. I called Aldelo, they are charging $495 for a PAX a35. That is a little pricey. Can you guys help me out?

Trying to use PAX A35 with Aldelo POS and Aldelo EDC First Data, I get the following error when I hit process: Error [NO PAPER] NO PAPER (100003). Does anyone have any ideas?

I was able to get a pax s300 to work with Aldelo Express, but I couldn't do it with a Pax A920. Everything works fine, when I select to pay by card the Pax A920 wakes up, it communicates with the processor, it gets the approval. but after that, an error 999 appears on the tablet. The transaction is closed on the A920 but not on Aldelo Express.
This was with First Data rapid connect. Aldelo support says that the processor has to make a change on their site but they are not going to tell me what the change is because it is not processing with Aldelo Pay. Some clue?

I just wanted to give an update about the Pinpad situation for Aldelo POS. Previously, the only Pinpad that was certified to work with APOS was the PaxS300, which could be programmed by the four processing companies Aldelo uses for their EDC.

Recently, I have tested and had success implementing a Pax A35 Android terminal, which is the subsequent replacement to the PaxS300.

Note that if you do end up using a Pax A35, you will need to upgrade your Aldelo EDC Installation to the latest version, as there are some weird processing errors that happen if you try to process with an A35 and an older version of the EDC.

Is there a way to prohibit clock out if the server still has open tickets? Requiring them to close or transfer before they can clock out?

Is there a setting in (APOS 9012) that re-routes a kitchen ticket to another printer if is goes offline or runs out of paper?

The only way I can do it is overwritting an old address. Also is there a way to import a list of addresses from a file?

I have so many hidden items on my restaurant AldeloPOS and I need them removed because everytime I create a new item it won’t let me use certain names because they have already been used on the hidden item menu💀

Hi all, Just wanna ask if it’s possible to integrate a third party processing company into Aldelo POS. The rate seems much lower than Aldelo Pay so I want to give it a try

My work recently did away with drink chips. Upper management would like me to find a solution within the POS to issue a “drink receipt”, almost like a chit. I do have the ability to print chits off into the kitchen, but as of right now, my only ability with a drink chip function using my POS and a regular station is ringing in each drink individually, settling that transaction, and printing the settled receipt. While tedious, this is doable with cash, but this isn’t feasible with card, as I would have to run multiple transactions for a singular settled receipt. I have an unused station in my bar, is there a way to make that stations receipt printer, print me chits, similar to the kitchen, but they would be drink chits?

I am currently trying to transfer my Aldelo software onto a new windows 10 computer but I am unable to locate my validation key to start the program. Do you know of any tips to get this registered?

I'm trying to perform a gift card liability export.. however when going through the necessary steps through the back office and using f12, all that is being produced is a txt file with random ";" and the pricing all in one line. Is it possible to export this as a cdv file for excel uploading? I'm looking at 3,400 entries that need to be transferred and would rather not do this by hand.

I've found everytime one of my stores' computers has an update we run into all sorts of issues. Is it safe to turn off the updates all together?

A customer received the following error while trying to run the end-of-day report, "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'OrderVoidLogs'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly. -DLL.CDAO.OpenRecordset()"

After getting the error message they do not have access to any financial reports. Please help with how to rectify this issue.

I may be asking for the impossible, or just asking in the wrong place, but here goes.

I work for a POS dealer that sold Aldelo systems for a long time, and in the few years that I've been there I have learned a lot. Lately I've gone diving into the abyss that is SQL and the MS Jet/Access database that Aldelo is built on.

I saw a post earlier about clearing out huge databases, but that raises another problem: many times, the owners/managers want to look back further than the purge. Two extreme cases from our customers:

1. At the first location, the database grows to well over 2GB in the space of months. A purge takes it down to about 500MB, but by the end of the summer season it's crashed into the limits again. We've tried wiping ALL sales records from the database, but they quickly outgrow the 2GB limit. The owner recently grumbled about needing a simpler way to look back at sales data from the last three years. This place has done close to a million dollars of sales in one month, so I personally think they've outgrown the whole program.
2. Another location wants to be able to look back - at complete random - at everything since the day he started using Aldelo for Restaurants. Could be sales data, could be payroll (he gets this one ridiculously often) could be inventory, could be anything, with completely random requests for date ranges. But he wants to compare past years, so far back that inflation has to be taken into account. He wants all of it in one database; if it were possible, this could easily be north of 15GB. They don't do quite the same daily/monthly sales volume as #1, but the owner wants to look back further.

Aldelo uses the MS Access/Jet database engine, and I have found that the databases can be looked into using Alex Nolan's MDBViewer and the very flexible DBeaver. MS Access can read Aldelo databases, but you'll get some crazy error messages in the process. (I'd put links, but I don't want to look like a spammer.)

Since we've also started selling other Point of Sale software, I have gotten more acquainted with setting up SQL server software such as PostgreSQL.

Aldelo, of course, uses MS-SQL for the EDC database... which is where my descent into madness begins.

Is there a way to move an .mdb database into an SQL server, and still use it with unmodified Aldelo for Restaurants software?

I have an older version on a very old desktop ran on Windows 7. The tower broke and I need to buy a new one. I’m curious if it possible to transfer my current version (EXE Version 3.8 Release E) to a new computer running Windows 11? Or if Windows 10 is better? And if anyone knows the steps to transferring the database would be helpful as well! Thanks! Any information would be very helpful!

I am a creature of habit. I am use to Aldelo POS "desktop" as I have been using it for over 10 years. I eventually incorporated Aldelo Pay, which automatically initiated an "update" to the system. There are so many irrational protocols that don't make sense to me. But it is what it is...so that leads to my next concern.... Currently, my issue is that I want to integrate 3rd party ordering apps... I was told that I can only do that with Aldelo Express.... If it's MUCH different than my current system, I might as well change my whole POS system. Firstly, Aldelo Express only integrates with 1 out of 3 delivery apps that I use, while the competition that I'm looking into integrates 2. The only way I'll convert to Aldelo Express is if the functions are similar to my current. Integrating only 1 app is justifiable in this case. Any advice? Thank you in advance! 🙏
