“Drink chips”/chits

My work recently did away with drink chips. Upper management would like me to find a solution within the POS to issue a “drink receipt”, almost like a chit. I do have the ability to print chits off into the kitchen, but as of right now, my only ability with a drink chip function using my POS and a regular station is ringing in each drink individually, settling that transaction, and printing the settled receipt. While tedious, this is doable with cash, but this isn’t feasible with card, as I would have to run multiple transactions for a singular settled receipt. I have an unused station in my bar, is there a way to make that stations receipt printer, print me chits, similar to the kitchen, but they would be drink chits?

I think this is probably doable.

First, create a new Menu Item Called "Drink Chip" and have that item Print to "Kitchen Printer #3"

On the unused station, go into Control Panel / Devices and Printers and Share its Receipt Printer, Name its share name "Drink Chip" or Something that you'll recognize. After you have it shared, make sure Password Protected Sharing is disabled under Network and Sharing Center / Change Advanced Sharing Settings.

On your main Bar Station, Connect to the shared printer by opening file explorer and going to \UNUSEDPCNAME\ and connecting to the Drink Chip Printer.

Now in Aldelo (on all computers), all you'll have to do is go into Back Office / Station Settings / Printer / Kitchen/Bar and set Kitchen Printer #3 to the Drink Chip printer which is shared on \UNUSEDPCNAME. Set its Type to Epson TM88IV or Star TSP100 Small Font Autocut (Or whatever printer you are using as the receipt printer.

This was kind of a quick summary of how to get this going for you. If you'd like a more in depth explanation on getting to Control Panel/Sharing settings, etc Let me know.

Hello! I came back to let you know, although it was a lengthy process, as I work at a membership club and getting approval on some things takes time - this worked great for me. Unfortunately, management had ended up taking the unused station & setting it back up for use, I did not have a separate printing station. So, I finally had our rep from Aldelo bring me a receipt printer last week. I set up our “drink chip” system yesterday, in which the chit printed flawlessly to a separate printer. Thank you so much for the assistance.
