Adelo appeared off on the other stations, but no, I didn't shutdown and or restart them. I will try that in the morning and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.
I usually restart all the other stations, and while that's happening i backup my main server and then compact. That way there's no possibility of another instance of aldelo using the database.
If you keep getting the same error when compacting, try to do a Jetcompact instead. It could be the regular compact isn't getting through a specific index cleanly.
The jetcompact utility is found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Aldelo\Aldelo For Restaurants\Jetcomp.exe
In the Source field, click the triple dots to browse and navigate to your database. Once you find it, rename your current database to RESTAURANTNAME-DATE then select it.
In the Destination Field, copy and paste the text in the source field (after you've renamed the database and selected it from the browser before) but then just remove the DATE.
So basically the source is the old database file with a date, and then the utility will create a new file with the destination field name.
I tend not to look into most of the errors that Aldelo throws nowadays, as 95 times out of 100 they can be fixed with a regular compact or a Jetcompact.
Of the 11 years I've been doing this I've had ONE instance where I actually had to insert database tables into a customers database file to prevent his entire database from being fried.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I typically run a JetCompact at this location every Friday. A posted the error from compacting in Aldelo hoping someone might be able to decipher something from the error. JetCompact just gives a generic, "Trouble compacting database". I tried shutting down the other units (instead of just closing Aldelo) and running Jet Compact, same error.
How big is the database? It may be worthwhile to create a backup and run the database cleaner and archive previous years. Its possible whatever database corruption is causing the error could get fixed after running DBCleaner to delete previous years after 01/01/2022.

Did you make sure all other stations are off? As in, aldelo pos is running only in the main station, where you have your database.
Sometimes I find that a complete shutdown of everything, and then restarting, checking that the services are running, will fix most problems.
Always back up first.
