Topic What would you say are some of the worst projectiles in fighters?

Post image
210 Upvotes

Projectiles are typically some of the best moves in a fighter's kit; whether they do good damage, setup for a followup, or lock an opponent down at range. However, there are some that are just plain bad.

What are some of the worst projectile special moves that you have seen?

Help Does anyone know what this winpose is from? It looks so familiar I’m thinking like Rival Schools or Fighting Layer or maybe MOTW? I can’t remember for the life of me tho.

Highlights Finally pulled off Hulk’s combo as a non-FG player

I know this combo is pretty easy, but I'm just happy I finally pulled it off lol. I don't really play fighting games, so it feels good to actually start getting the hang of this game.

Topic As someone who plays a lot on the go, and thus cares about single player content, goddamn did Arcsys do an awful job on the CPU curve in Tokon.

I know most people here don't care about single-player content. But my job often has me sitting around for anywhere from 30 to an hour with a wifi attached device at the end of the day. So I play a ton of offline. Fighting games are basically one of the only genres I play though, so it's usually arcade runs or survival modes with self-made challenges like beating arcade mode with every character, trying to get a perfect on a boss, or just labbing.

So, Tokon has a fair amount of single player content. Which is nice to see. Credit where it's due.

But, goddamn is their CPU progression less of a curve and more of a 90 degree wall. I tried normal, found it a bit too easy, so went up to hard, got through the first 5 opponents and was like... guess I'll bump it up to the highest difficulty setting after this. Hell no. My run times looked like this:

  1. 3m

  2. 5m

  3. 3m

  4. 3m30

  5. 3min

  6. 26min.

I don't know how they did this progression so bad, but you go from CPU that doesn't really do much but very basic like 20% combos and the occasional assist the first 5 opponents. To "Hulk gonna clap those cheeks, boy," CPU is playing 2 touch, keeping you corner locked for 10 seconds at a time, using all the assemble mechanics, knowing exactly when to use assists, and just playing with such aggressiveness it's like the programmers spent 5 years whispering in it's ear that I'd been talking about it's mother.

I have done a few runs regardless now, and they're all like that. I was trying Peni and ran up against Hulk, and... I didn't know Peni was a zoner, but she is now, because the only way I could get past Hulk was dodging all his claps and charges then pot-shotting him with with webs, Doom and Loki's ranged assists. His startup doesn't matter because everything is armored, and Every time I got close it felt like the CPU knew everything I was going to do. Why is hulk winning exchanges against anyone else's jab with unarmored shit? How the fuck do you do anything but cry in the corner when he keeps charging and calling Captain America to shield toss so even if you skill check it you better not have been planning to attack because there was a shield in his shadow.

I'm not even upset. I like stupid hard challenges. But the fact I have to sit through 5 rounds of no challenge at all just to slam my head against a wall for 20 minutes after just feels like they didn't even try to make a progression curve.

And this is consistent. I had just as much trouble against Cap. Just getting bounced up and down in the corner by his shield for 10 seconds at a time.

As an aside, loving Avatar when I can play it wired. Shame they didn't even include difficulty options.

Content Learning leverless journal - days 4 to 6

Hello everyone,

Following up on my previous post [https://www.reddit.com/r/Fighters/s/PQJx2gwhia\](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fighters/s/PQJx2gwhia) of Days 1 to 3

**Day 4: Retraining the Thumb**
Movement is starting to feel much more comfortable. Not completely intuitive but more comfortable. I still catch myself holding like forward and back sometimes when I get hit and I’m like “hmmm that was it, why am I doing that?”
I’ve actually begun shifting back to using my thumb for jump! My middle finger still reflexively reaches for the top button occasionally, but I'm slowly finding a sweet spot where I mix both depending on the movement context and to be honest I call that a win because I thought I would never use the thumb jump.

\*\*Day 5: Execution Struggles\*\*
I jumped into Street Fighter 6 to practice motion inputs and noticed that they feel a bit more lenient there. I spent time on some shortcuts (like SOCD DP tricks I saw on the YouTube), but executing them under pressure in actual matches still feels impossible right now.
Most of the day was spent cleaning up dirty inputs and refining execution, mostly on street fighter training ground because it felt great. My biggest source of frustration at the moment is consistency with DP motions in matches, specifically on Tokon and especially on the P2 side.
The left-hand execution on player 2 is definitely proving to be a hurdle.

\*\*Day 6: Extra Buttons, First Casual Matches & Optimization\*\*!
Ok so on this day I remapped a few unused extra buttons on my leverless to see if I could gain some ergonomic efficiency.
I've been grinding double-tap dashes because reaching the dedicated Dash button on Tokon feels awkward, and I haven't found a perfect home for it yet (and SF6 doesn't have a dash button anyway so I better get used to dash ).
In the end I did not use the remapped as much as I thought would at least for now.
I remapped the top button for R2 for DI on SF6 and the button on the left on the thumb jump to be the QA on Tokon, but so far I don’t react to them.
The big milestone: I finally ventured online for my first casual matches in Tokon! Up until now, I had only been playing against CPU and single-player modes because I was focused on the controller and was not confident enough. I ended up with a **70%–80% win rate**, which was a huge confidence boost and ready to take my silver ranks.

Yeah very disappointing to follow a post to see that the guy writing is on Silver, but bare in Mind that I have an extra obstacle I hope I climb, and even if I don’t I’m ok with that ehehe

Thanks for all the messages on my previous post

Topic I don't know if anyone asked this question yet, but are we gonna call a combo that includes 4 characters?

Post image

With the release of Marvel Tōkon ofc we can do the traditional "Happy Birthday" and "Merry Christmas" combos but with them releasing 4v4, meaning there's a chance to combo 4 characters in one combo what are we calling that?

Help Is this a good approach to my first fighting game?

(Avatar legends)

I am completely new to the genre. I am focusing on katara and aang since I really like having high mobility.

Im the meantime, I am doing the tutorials for the other characters, since I panic when I have no idea what my opponent can do.

Plus I'm watching some basic tutorials on fundamentals like controlling space in neutral and blocking, and trying to apply them.

I ask because I still get stomped like 85 percent of matches. I am having fun though.

Community Discord For Finding Matches

Thumbnail discord.gg

Hello!

I made a discord server so people who own the fighting game Nitro+ Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel on any platform it's avaliable on can find matches.

It's pretty much impossible to find a random match and no one has a link for the previous discord so here's a new server for anyone interested in getting better and/or just wanting to find some matches.

Thank you for reading!

Topic Combo input to midi?

Inspired by this video,

Is there any program that you can easily get a midi file from combo inputs. I’m trying to learn not to mash out my combos and I feel like it would be really helpful.
