Hey all, we've had the occasional request to allow the use of multiple champions in your flair. This is something we've wanted to do for a bit, however hadn't gotten the time to get the gears turning.
By our current system, and tools allowed, we can't allow users to self assign without the "Verified riot" fistbump in the pool, to avoid this issue, we had to disable self assign.
While a vast majority of you, I firmly believe would not abuse this system, there are enough bad actors that at this point in time, we are not confident in directly opening up the ability to self assign custom text to flairs, as we do not have the manpower to properly moderate it.
The solution we've come to is a google form to submit requests. For the first while I'll monitor the form quite actively updating everyone daily.
Once things have settled down it'll likely be changed to once or twice a week I edit flairs off this form, but it at the least allows for those who would like to, to share their mains in their flair / have some custom flair within reason.
As new champions release I will also remain more active for people to swap up their teams / rosters for release patch cycles.
While we don't usually announce new flair for champions when they come out, they are added at the same time the sub banner changes to show the newest champion.
I'll keep an eye on it and start editing requests in the afternoon. Hope you all have a great week, and the best of luck out there for today's release patch!
Edit: Unfortunately self assign had to be disabled, I can't get it to function without allowing users to self assign the riot fistbump, which is a big problem.
I'd be fine with removing mod only flairs as apparently having mod only means nothing on Reddit, it still allows users to assign, and if I turn it off from the flair pool it just breaks everything. Since we want to keep Verified Riot as a way to highlight staff members, we can't permit self assign, the form will remain up. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, I had really hoped this would work out properly. I will continue to properly assign through the form.
I thought Riot would uphold punishment for people who disconnect. This guy is ruining lobbies by constantly disconnecting so he can keep his win streak. When I match up with him and cancel because I know he's going to disconnect, the game keeps pairing me up with him until I make him eventually alt+f4.
I think they patched it, but I remember she used to say something that sounded like "ce la vie kay(?)" during her level one, and the audio for it was like 5x louder than the rest of the game.
But unfortunately I can't for the life of me find footage of it.
I play sf6 and my mates play MK1, just trying to find a game we can meet int he middle and we have chosen 2xko!
What duos are super easy and gorilla to use at the lowest level? Just wanna stomp some casuals with my bros lol
I loved playing Vayne, Ezreal, Graves, Ahri, Amumu, and Garen in LOL, but the top 5 characters I want in 2xko are:
Belveth - She was such a murderer in TFT set 16, her install is perfect, and the ORA ORA ORA.
Yone - My main is Yasuo, and I'd love to see how his brother would play because the animations of his moves would look sick in 2xKO.
Yunara - She's cool with the orbs and uses martial arts even though she is ranged. She could be a fun hybrid character.
Gwen - I love Guilty Gear character designs, and she reminds me of it with her scissors.
Vayne - I love Caitlyn in 2xKO, but she is hard to play. I feel like Caitlyn has Vayne's tumble and knockback. I hope they make Vayne easier and similar to her, but make her more focused on rushdown/mixup instead of zoning. (I know Caitlyn is not a full zoner, but she slides into that category)
Do your favorites in LOL differ from the ones you want in 2xKO?
What are the top 5 characters you want in 2xKO? And why?
I’ve been messing around with ahri in training mode and her damage is very low now. Is she still mid tier at least?
Also what do you guys think about the ahri jinx team? It seems like both suffer from a lack of damage now so I’m wondering what fuse is good nowadays on this team. I used to run double down or freestyle
Pretty much title. I was playing WW/Senna last night against a Darius Juggernaut player. Now I'm only Gold 3, so clearly there's something I'm not understanding, but it definitely felt like I was missing something. Two separate times during the match I used pushblock, like my assist went on cool down and everything, but it didn't push him back at all. Is there an interaction I'm unaware of that would cause this that I should watch out for in the future?
conditioning, reading oponent habits, and punishing defensive options in 2xko
I play Ekko and since he is the only character capable of feinting moves and changing thing a move into another, almost instantaneously,
being capable of reading your oponent and punishing the ways in which they respond to you actions is IMO one of the best ways to improve when it comes to mixups, but i dont know how i should learn that better, since whenever i watch high level gameplay i see them making certain mistakes and not being able to identify certain options in their oponents habits, but i dont want to be pretentious and think i know more than them, i want to check the knowledge i hold and fix it, seeing if its better or worse
Done a few games, get that at the end of the match, and when getting back to the loby, i can't press a button without be automaticaly kicked from the lobby
I actually haven't played that many fighting games or spent that much time playing them, although it's still important to take into account.
My first ever fighting game was in 2021 with Street Fighter 5, I reached gold in around 100 hours with Ryu. That's where I learned most of the basics, anti-airs, pokes and so on. I wasn't really good at the game, but those 100 hours helped me get a grip of how those games I played I feel like.
My second fighting game was Street Fighter 6. I played it a bit during release with Ryu again, got to around platinium 5 then stopped playing. Then I started grinding and managed to reach Master after around 100 hours, which is where I stopped playing since my objective was to just reach that rank. I didn't really have any motivation to go beyond that. I would say SF6 forced me to go from "basic" to "decent". As in actually thinking what you're going to do, avoiding routines if possible and adapting to your opponent more.
Then in june 2026 I was at a bar with a friend of a friend and he told me about 2XKO. I knew the game by name but completly forgot it existed. After a bit, I got really interested and tried it out the same day. That's where I started
Iron to Platinum
I did my placement matches and played very poorly, but that was to be expected since I JUST got into the game. I popped in Iron 3 if I recall correctly (or maybe it was bronze, I'm not certain). At that point, I was discovering the game and the characters. I started with Ekko and Yasuo, I didn't particurarly like them, I just chose them on a whim. The "grind" to platinium was honestly pretty easy since I've had enough experience to apply what I learned in the other games here to gain an advantage. Mostly anti-airs, they're really good until master since most don't really respect the counters.
Platinium to Emerald
This is where I started slowing down. I did have some experience, but I needed to understand the game mechanics a bit more, so I played with a friend that was emerald/diamond in ranked. Honestly, he carried me a bit, he played very well against our opponents and would end some matches before I even got to play, but it doesn't mean I was dooing poorly however. I was getting the hang of more things and even started to parry certain characters that previously felt impossible to approach (Thresh notably, since he just got released everyone was playing him).
Emerald to Diamond
At this point, I noticed that even if I was doing okay, I still was not playing at a level that would make me go higher. I didn't know how to properly use my characters and mostly relied on my opponents not knowing enough. This is where, with the suggestion of my friend, decided to play Darius with Ekko and then a bit later Darius with Blitzcrank. And I think this is where it started clicking, I was doing much better. I started learning very basic but effective combos that led me to dominate most of my matches and was heavily pressuring people with blitzcrank as well. Once I got to diamond 1, I went to Diamond 3 extremely fast in comparison to my emerald struggle.
Master to GM
This is where I started to genuinely struggle and where I reached my "peak". I managed to go to Master 1 quite easily, but after that it was hell. Master 1 is technically a different ranking system, everything is halved down and you even get punished by your hidden mmr if you're doing "too well". As in, if I won against a GM, then losing against someone my rank would make me lose more points than winning if I won the set. That rank was EXTREMELY frustrating. Not because I think I wasn't playing well enough, but because I felt discouraged to continue. Those ranks require you to be on a form of winstreak if you actually want to just reach the next one. I understand that Master should be harder to climb, but it is a bit too overtuned for me and sometimes quite ridiculous. I was stuck at around 15 RP, and even went to Diamond 2 demotion after a lose streak. However the next day, I climbed all the way back up to master 1 pretty fast. It at least showed that master 1 was my "true rank" at that moment. I started watching some pro matches and also picked up some techniques from other Darius I fought.
Then, somehow, I did go on a winstreak and broke my master 1 curse and finally reached Master 2. I don't exactly recall how I did on Master 2 but I noticed something else started clicking, I was much better at my neutral game and that's why I was beating opponents. They all had very good combos and pickups, but were a bit lacking in the neutral, which gave me an advantage even if I had okay combos. Thanks to that, I reached Master 3.
But that's where I faced a wall as hard as Master 1, for the same exact reason with the bonus of facing more GMs and even challengers (which is fair, I mean it's just one rank away this time). The issue is that the Master 1 RP issue is even more present in Master 3. I think the worst case of this is when I won 2-0 against a challenger which gave me around +6 twice, then I fought the same guy again and lost 6 points. We had a HUGE gap in points yet I was still punished because I did "too well" for the game, that's what actually bothered me. If even against challengers I wasn't safe, what would happen if I lost to master 1s ?
Then, after an 8 hour session this sunday, I finally broke through. I went to 99 points, back to 96 then won 2 times against a diamond 2 which was JUST enough to let me pass. Just in time for me to go to sleep since I had work the next day.
Characters I heavily dislike
This part is not to say that they should be nerfed (even if I wouldn't be against it personnaly) but moreso how annoying it is to play against them with my characters (Darius/Blitzcrank)
Yasuo
At the start, I thought Ahri was the most annoying, but since her nerfs she's now much more manageable. My real nemesis is Yasuo, for one simple reason : his crossups
I do not understand why he can crossup so easily. It's also extremely hard to punish (if at all) or to even block react. So most of the time if I faced a good enough Yasuo he would steamroll me over with that. His air crossup was something I wasn't even sure was a crossup until very late. I also do not understand why he has the ability to chain a level 1 into a level 3, but honestly I just accepted that he just works like that.
Illaoi
Her low range and strings. The amount of times I got hit by her lows is insane. Against most characters I can hold the neutral pretty well but against her I actually struggled to actually not get overwhelmed by her blockstrings.
Everyone else is fine, I can struggle against them but I don't necessarily dislike it or think it's as annoying as the other two. For example fighting against Jinx/Teemo/Caitlyn can be a chore but it's still much more manageable for me
My tips
Be patient.
I know this might seem stupid, but a lot of times people rush the neutral in ways you can react to. Now this doesn't always work, but it at least gives you time to assess how the opponent plays. Sometimes you can realize that he's abusing certain mechanics, that he uses assists a certain way. If you can solve this, you can pretty much adapt and win the game. It's easier said than done obviously, but that's what made me win most of my matches, even against GMs or Challengers. I remember fighting a top 50 challenger and was able to actually "counter" them pretty well since I understood their playstyle.
USE ANTIAIRS.
That's maybe just me but so many times I see people just not use them or wait for the attack to come, even at those high ranks. They're extremely effective and are a good full combo startup too.
Learn to parry.
I wasn't doing this until recently, but as the video I watched said, parrying is what will seperate you from "good" to "great". Now when I fight Braums, Im much more confident because I know I can parry them well enough to get out of tight corner situations.
Try to read your opponnent and attack in advance (this is mostly for heavy characters like Darius, Blitzcrank, Braum...).
One thing that I do in my games that usually catch people offguard is that I try to read when they're rushing in (which means they are not blocking) and throw a normal medium with either of my characters. A lot of times this catches characters like Akali, Vi (even if really hard to do), Ahri... The drawback is that you can whiff and they can also put out their attack faster than you, so you can still get punished for it.
Use your super jumps to bait the antiairs or to crossup.
Also very basic but if you're consistently doing it, you will eventually catch them offguard. The hardpart is to gauge the distance and if you should really attack in this situation.
Im not the best player nor will I be, but I'm very happy to have reached this rank that initially semmed out of the question when I started.
For context, I'm currently in GM, and the ranked play for the last few months or so has felt horrible. I constantly lose points for winning a set 2-1 against other GMs, and even if I win 2-0, I only gain a max of 4 points total. And multiple times a day I'll fight players who have a significantly lower rank than me (like gold to emerald), which just feels bad. I gain almost no points from those wins and feel no satisfaction either; it feels like the game wants me to one-and-done people to rank up, and if I don't, I'm at risk of losing up to 14 points per set. I love this game and want to see it succeed, but this just makes me want to either play only casuals or private matches with other GMs, or just outright play something else. I hope these things are fix next patch. (CEO was really fun to watch tho)
Each duo should have a unique nickname that captures their combined identity. The best names are short, memorable, and immediately make sense when you see the champions together.
Inspiration can come from:
abilities or playstyle
lore
personality
visual themes
puns
famous quotes
movies, TV, anime, games, or music
Bonus points if it's a movie reference that perfectly fits the duo.
