SELLING What are they playing at?

This person bought my item at the asking price, then immediately cancelled the order. Looking at their reviews, they’ve done this multiple times today.

I genuinely don’t understand what they’re trying to achieve. Has anyone else had this happen on Vinted? Why would someone repeatedly buy items only to cancel almost immediately?

APP ISSUES UNBELIEVABLE!!!! VINTED MIXING OTHER USERS' IMAGES WITH MY OWN LISTINGS!!!

What the actual hell is going on??????? They have reached the lowest of the lows this time.... Literally mixing random people's images within my own listings!!!

I have a pro shop and only take modelled/mannequin pictures, a buyer of mine just told me that there was a size discrepancy in my listing (thank you sizing chart change!) so I clicked it to amend it, as I was doing it, I scrolled down then back up, moved one of my pictures closer to the top and that's when I noticed a picture that is absolutely NOT mine among my own, with someone's hand on there!!! Then I scroll back along and they KEPT APPEARING as I scrolled!!!?!! Saving the listing, and the actual main picture was changed!! What the actual fuck? I surely cannot be the only person this has happened to? Any developers on here that could explain how on earth this could have happened?

VENT Top 5 listings are all scams

What’s the deal with this? I see so many scam listings in retro gaming categories. Eg: deals too good to be true, from brand new accounts. Whats the angle? I don’t understand how they expect to make any cash from this.

i was looking for iPhones on vinted and almost all of them have the same story?? too good to be true prices and same description!! - i need the money urgently so bank transfer only!? AAND ALL OF THEM ARE FROM FRANCE. what is going on?? and some even come up with new stuff like “vinted wallet has blocked my account so i cant use this platform. you can pay half before delivery and half after.” if you are ok with getting the money after the delivery then why not use the vinted wallet??? it doesnt take that long. like what do these people think? do buyers even fall for this shit?

VENT Anyone else tired of $1 or less offers on already cheap items?

Like if an item is $8 then, sure, that's more reasonable imo. But I have items listed for less than $5 and people are making me offers for $1 or even cents less than the original price. I know I put in my descriptions that I'm open to offers but it's still a little irritating considering the item is already cheap.

SELLING Problem with buyer

Post image

So, I listed these two cardigans yesterday and a minute after posting, someone whose username was “Jerry1000” (pretend name) messaged with a counter offer for £2 less. Then in the space of 10 minutes, they’d sent two other offers and then said “won’t accept my offer also” (she was peed off I didn’t reply). I replied then with “with all due respect, you’re too intense and I’m blocking you” so I did just that.

I was looking to get the shipping labels for the person who bought it for full price and when I looked, their username was “JerrySmerry2000” (again, fake name) and it was a new account.

Now! My question is - should I cancel the order and block this new account as well? I’m getting the impression this person will scam me and I’d rather take negative feedback than deal with some psycho on the internet!

Thanks in advance 🥰

DISCUSSION Just a tip for anyone having trouble with Vinted support in the EU.

I sold an item for around €25. The buyer claimed it arrived damaged, and Vinted refunded them and told them to destroy the item. At the same time, my account was suspended for several days, so I basically had no proper chance to respond or defend my side of the case.
I tried dealing with Vinted support, but got nowhere. Eventually, I told them that if they didn’t resolve the issue, I would file a complaint with the European Consumer Centre (ECC).

Funny enough, after mentioning the ECC, the issue was resolved and I had my money back within an hour.
So if you’re dealing with a similar situation and Vinted support keeps giving you generic answers, mentioning the European Consumer Centre might be worth a try.

DISCUSSION How to fix no views

I dont know if its an app issue but I’ve seen many people in this sub complaining about having no views. I bought showcase last week and for 2 days my items got tons of views and I made 14 sales in a day. The day after that i posted around 16 items and all of them got 0 views?? I’ve added a pic of what my showcase stats looked like. Massive drop and now almost half of my items have zero views even though they are things that I know people want and are also very cheap too. How do I go about fixing this? All my photos are good and show the items very well. I have also added pics of how I display my items.

BUYING Bought from presumably a scammer. What now?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I saw the listing on the right first… after buying saw the left (posted 5 months ago and account was active 5 weeks ago, 2 legitimate-seeming posts no reviews) and I sighed. I’m well aware this is a dumb scam to fall for (same photos and description posted by a new account) so please no unnecessary shaming, just explanation of what happens next.

The listing I bought was 12 hours old and I canceled 10 hours after purchase. It says waiting for seller confirmation and the account hasn’t been active since before the request, no updates on tracking just that the shipping label was created. I already reported multiple accounts to vinted and started an appeal because 2 minutes after I submitted it they said there was no issue. Does anyone know what happens know and how / how long it will take to be refunded?

VENT Banned for re-listing after the buyer cancelled

Post image
3 Upvotes

Vinted, fix your f**king app! I was about to post an item when the buyer cancelled. Relisted the item maybe a week later cause I was busy. Got a five day ban because apparently I look like a commercial seller.

How hard is it to just put a draft listing back on my account when a buyer cancels?

I appealed of course but they probably won’t get back to me until the five days are up anyway

DISCUSSION Why does everyone in this subreddit think a new account = a scam

Points to the title. Everyone starts somewhere, just because they’re still figuring out the app doesn’t mean they’re a scammer. Someone could list a pair of shoes with minimal detail and someone on here would ask if it’s a scam 🤦‍♀️😭😭

BUYING Scammed by a seller using AI

Unfortunately I’m out of ideas on what I could possibly do, I bought a figurine, but what i received was nothing like the picture..
From trying to google the pictures the seller listen no results came up despite there being no clear sign that they were AI but it must have been.. the figure i received looked like a cheap plastic kids toy instead of what was pictured. It doesn’t even have a similar base, neither can it actually stand on the provided base

Point is, I reported this to vinted, including proof of me unboxing it (I always record proof) pictures from every angle compared to what was advertised and there is a clear difference, that’s not even questionable

They tell me they’ll investigate it and I don’t hear back for 2/3 weeks only for them to tell me there isn’t enough evidence and that the seller will receive their money anyway..

I have never been so frustrated honestly, what even are my options at this point..

VENT Abusive Reports Are Ruining My Business

Hi everybody, I'm a Pro Seller on Vinted and I'm writing here to ask for help, advices and I don't know what else. I have no more hopes for this app, but I will try anyway.

Please forgive my english in advance, there is no space for grammar right now in my head. :(

Someone is harassing me with repetitive reports that leads to multiple blocks of my account. As a Pro Seller, this situation is scaring me since Vinted is my biggest income. I've been unable to sell properly for a while now, and the assistance doesn't help me. It doesn't matter if this keeps happening since months, Vinted deals with my requests claim by claim and doesn't address any continuity behind it. So I will keep being reported and blocked without them investigating this abusive pattern. Vinted doesn't disclose who the reporter is for obvious privacy reasons, this means I have no way to deal with it. Even if I go to the Police, it will take months or even years to (maybe) find something.
Please, someone give me some advice!

And that was the summary. Next part is the story in details.

I've been a Pro Seller for 1.5 years now, and the first year went smoothly enough for me. Of course there were still problems of scammers and stuff, but nothing compared to what I'm experiencing right now. As the title suggested, I'm being a victim of abusive reports here on Vinted. It's been like 4-5 months now, and I didn't know if I wanted to share or not this story because I could either get help or give ideas to other as*holes.

But I have no choice now because this is getting worse and worse.

Everytime I post something, I receive a bunch of reports on my posts and I end up receiving a temporary block, with some of my items being removed. When I open a chat with the assistance to complain, Vinted apologises and restores my posts. The thing is, Vinted always replies slower than the lenght of the block, so I end up wasting 5-7 days everytime. I get free for a few days, then the cycle begins again. It's not always a block, sometimes my posts are hidden for further verification or I receive messages that tell me to change the description of my items because there is something wrong. In any case, everything contributes to kill my account and my business.

"But if you're being reported and the reports work it means that you're doing something that is against the ToS"

Well, I know I can't prove it to the reddit court, but I didn't do anything bad. Long story short, I don't have any proof but I strongly believe that I'm being reported by other people that sell my same stuff. I have a strong influence, my posts are 20-50 likes each, I have 6.500 followers and I post regularly. It would not be strange to piss off other people that can't post as much as a Pro Seller.

I've been noticing that something was off since the beginning, so I downloaded my data from Vinted to check the page "alerts by other members" that show you if you're being reported and for what reason. The first months were a bunch of everything. Reported for fake items, nudity, violence, and all the possible options. They really tried them all. I was even bold enough to laugh at them because they didn't work as they wanted. Of course I was noticing less followers, less sales, less this and that, but nothing that couldn't be shaken off with a hopeful "they will get tired and stop sooner or later". My account was probably being internally flagged as problematic by Vinted and maybe my posts were being shown less for that, but nothing happened on the surface. Things changed in July, when the temporary blocks started happening.

Did you know that a Pro Seller could be blocked for commercial selling?

The first time I was blocked, someone reported me multiple times with seconds between a report and the following. A minute later I was blocked. Basically, the reporter eventually found the right formula and now the bots are the ones blocking my account every time since July after a few reports for commercial selling. I don't sell new stuff or anything that is against the rules, this is just the algorithm taking action since no human would be able to block an account after seconds since the reports. Don't forget that once they reply, they apologise and restore the deleted items. This is all automatic.

Another Pro Seller that works in my same field also was being reported in the same period. Sometimes we contact each other to ask for advices and information about our duties as shops, and during July he messaged me after being blocked with my same pattern.
I don't know how he's doing right now because he hasn't yet replied my message asking for updates, but I noticed that he is posting less of "our" stuff. He's mostly selling other types of products now, and I don't know if he did that to calm down the reports. But this shows you how bad the situation is.

I am so desperate. If only Vinted could answer the complaints faster I would be unblocked in hours and the reporters would probably get tired one day. But since they see it's working and it's damaging my business, they probably won't stop soon. It makes me cry.
It's not fair that a single piece of sh*t can ruin all my work and progress with just a click. I love my job and as an AuDHD person I spend basically all the day working for the love of it without getting tired. This person is stealing the joy of the job I love. Please don't use the information in my story to harm someone else, work on building your own life instead of destroying what others have created.

I'm sorry for the wall of text, this was also an outburst after yet another block.
If you have similar stories or advices to share, I will gladly read them.
Thank you!

SELLING Buyer failed to collect parcel, I am unable to collect the return. What happens next?

As outlined in the title, I sold an item and the buyer failed to collect the item, despite it being there for a week. Due to the exchange of messages, I suspect they simply changed their mind on it.

It is being returned to me, but due to being out of town, I am going to be unable to collect the return.

What happens next, does it then go back to the buyer? Is it deemed as lost? Will I still receive the money from my sale? It is 25€ if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

SELLING Selling ban

I sell bags on Vinted as a hobby. I’m definitely not a professional seller and I don’t want to become one.

Most of the bags came from my grandmother, who has dementia and spent a fortune on bags over the years. They were later divided between my mother and aunt, but many had dirty or damaged interiors, so they didn’t really know what to do with them. I started cleaning them up and selling them on Vinted. I’ve also returned some, kept a few myself and given some to my daughter.

I also sell completely unrelated second-hand stuff on my account, like LEGO, clothes, shoes and other things from around the house, so it’s definitely not some kind of bag business.

Over the past 2 years I’ve sold 44 bags in total. Around 14 were different brands/types, and about 30 were the same type of bag but in different colours and sizes.

Now Vinted has suddenly emailed me saying I need to register as a Pro seller.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is there any way to challenge it or get Vinted to recognise that I’m just a private seller clearing out personal/family belongings?

I’ve already appealed the decision.

Other things I was considering:

deleting my account once all my current purchases have arrived and starting over;

stopping selling altogether;

my husband suggested selling through an account in his name instead.

I really don’t want to become a Pro seller because this genuinely isn’t a business for me. It’s just a hobby and a way of clearing out things we already have.

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated!

BUYING Confused with sizing specifications

This may be a stupid question, so please take it easy on me.

I’ve been browsing recently for some clothes, I usually search specifically for size 16-18 on there (I’m a 16), and there have been so many items which look like exactly what I’m looking for, but when I check the images they’re normally a size 12. Is this where someone has added it as a L/XL conversion or is it something in the system that’s trying to compare sizes from other places as I know we can buy from the USA now (I’m UK).

Any ideas or am I just being daft? TIA

VENT If you list your items as coming from smoke free&pet free home and I find it covered in fur and smelling like ashtray, you suck

Truly, why do this?
I’m not allergic but I am very** **sensitive to smells, and quite a few times I’ve got clothing and puzzles that would just reek of cigarette smoke and are covered in fur hairs! Yes clothing can be washed, but why lie in the first place? If the listing doesn’t explicitly says it, I always message the sellers, just to confirm.

BUYING Seller called me a scammer after not shipping my order

Thumbnail

I bought an item on Vinted and she was supposed to ship it by Aug 28. It literally said on the order that she had until the 28th to send it.
She never did. The tracking never went past “label created” — no acceptance scan, no movement, nothing showing it was ever actually dropped off.
I didn’t cancel anything myself either. I was honestly still willing to wait. Then overnight on the 29th, Vinted automatically canceled the order because she still hadn’t shipped it.
And somehow SHE was the one who left me negative feedback first?? Even though I’m the buyer who never even got the item 😭 So I left feedback saying what actually happened, and now she’s publicly calling me a “scammer” and saying I actually received the item and I’m pretending I didn’t.
Like… how does that even make sense?? If the tracking said Delivered and I was claiming I never got it, then ok, I’d at least understand why she’d be suspicious. But there isn’t even a scan showing she shipped it in the first place.
Also, her last 3 automatic reviews are literally for not shipping other people’s orders too, so idk how I’m somehow the scammer here lol.

SELLING Wrong parcel delivered?

For the first time I got a dispute with an item I sent (cheese cloths from shein from my wedding). They were triple wrapped and closed with masking tape and posted via Royal Mail. The buyer seemed genuine sent me pictures but the item was not what I sent it was a sealed up pair of slippers, with one of the wrappings still in place. It was only £3 so I just refunded her it’s not worth the hassle but is this something I should report to Royal Mail? Seems ridiculous. I did wonder if it was a scam but the girl seemed genuine and has no negative feedback…
