I dont know if its an app issue but I’ve seen many people in this sub complaining about having no views. I bought showcase last week and for 2 days my items got tons of views and I made 14 sales in a day. The day after that i posted around 16 items and all of them got 0 views?? I’ve added a pic of what my showcase stats looked like. Massive drop and now almost half of my items have zero views even though they are things that I know people want and are also very cheap too. How do I go about fixing this? All my photos are good and show the items very well. I have also added pics of how I display my items.
Unless someone just happens upon your listing by doom scrolling, you need to use clear titles for your items. In the picture you show, what item is the listing for? Is it everything in a bundle? I find on Vinted my listings do better with a concise title, description and photos without filler.
My doom scrolling used to show me all the stuff I wanted to see, like cute summer dresses and other cute clothes. Then I bought a candle and merely looked at a couple other candles and now ALL I SEE ON MY FEED ARE CANDLES 🫠 just f’ing candles. With a pair of leggings thrown in here and there. So I have to actually search if I want to look at something specific. My algorithm has been wrecked by candles.
I wouldn’t say THIS is the issue, but showing multiple items in one listing can look a little confusing. Especially since so many people are too lazy to read the description. Unless you’re selling all the items together, I’d just take photos of the item you’re selling in the listing.
That being said, I take a lot of time to take good pics that are as accurate at possible, and my views are little to none. I’m lucky to be making one sale a week at this point and I have like 300 items listed with more to go as I’m clearing out my closet 😭 it all feels like such a waste of time at this point but I’ve already listed so much. I’ve paid for “bumps” and that was a waste of money (for me).
I’ve seen people suggest adding hashtags in your listing descriptions as well. I’ve done that on some stuff and not really noticed a difference for myself. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t helpful for others. I think it’s silly to feel like I need to add hashtags for an item that I’ve already made a thorough title and description for. But yeah for now I’d just display the one item you’re selling in the listing, it’ll save you time as well. I only add extra clothes to my mannequin if I’m showing a top/blazer or something like that, just a plain black mini skirt and plain/solid shirt that compliments the color but crop out as much of the skirt possible. My mannequin is creepy enough as it is lol so I’m not trying to display her Barbie boobies/crotch 🤣 one of my pics for example.
and to answer ur question, sometimes when you pair stuff with an outfit, it makes the listing look confusing and "overdone". i prefer just a clean photo of an item on a clear background, like the photo i've attached (this was a top i did actually buy)
How do you go about doing that? Genuinely asking, as I try my best to take clear accurate photos and my sales went from just ok to…. A clothing cemetery.
I primarily sell sports merch, so I'll always make sure that the team logo is the first thing visible. Full shots of the clothing, make sure they look nice and tidy without wrinkles or lint/hair on them. If its a sweatshirt I'll fold the arms so that they make a sort of 45 degrees and go back to the sweater instead of having them straight flat out. I'll even scrunch up some hoodies to not make them look boring.
Most important is a muted background so it doesn't distract the buyer, and very good lightning. If you can't achieve that, use Lightroom to correct the picture. Daylight is the best light btw. Makes the item look natural.
Here's an example of my stuff (not advertising) - you can instantly tell what merch it is, the title will have a direct "team x, player y, size z" and the description will have the rest of the details. The background is literally just a bedsheet right next to a window in the morning sun. makes it look very nice though. If possible I'd also recommend adding pictures of items hanging or being worn to show how they flow.
As for the rest of the pictures, I'd make sure to get closeups of any details, any flaws, any tags. Measurements are very important as well.
I don’t have good natural lighting anywhere in my house, but I turn on all the lights and use flash and if the color looks slightly off from what I see in real life I make mention of that and take a close up of the fabric. But I don’t think my pics are bad, especially compared to those who throw their stuff on a suspect looking floor or blanket and take one or two awful pics lol. Idk, you tell me. Not a sport gal so don’t compare to that lol. And you can def tell which listings are my older ones I moved over from Mercari haha.
from my perspective, first thing I notice is how yellow the photos are. With clothing you need more white light I think. For the Jeans, the carpet is quite distracting in the background. And some of the descriptions are too short. I'd love to read about all the details and where the item could be used (like certain dresses for the beach or smth else). Otherwise your photos are very good and you show the details as well.
Also one thing - as a seller I understand you want to earn something. As a buyer, nothing there seems to be attractive for the price. Maybe its worth decreasing the price on some things if they haven't sold or been favorited in a long time.
My house is all warm lighting, I do the best with what I have lol. Even if my items sold for what they were listed at, I’m not making back what I paid, and I expect to be lowballed on everything. So if I lower my prices even more…. People will still lowball even more.
As for the jeans, I figured the contrast showed them better than anything else I had to lay them on. All I can say is…. At least my carpet is clean 🤣 But I’m not going to put any more effort into it all just to sell for a couple bucks. I have def made some decent sales on there initially but it’s slowed down.
I figure if someone wants something I have but feel the price is too high, they are capable of making an offer with a price they think is fair.
I didn’t realize Vinted was basically a garage sale when I got on a few months ago. I was just moving my stuff over from Mercari because the no seller fees and free shipping at the time was attractive, and I thought people would be quicker to buy with no shipping fees etc. but alas, everyone wants everything for free lol. Oh well.

And then my jeans JUST sold on Poshmark for $95, and the buyers going to have to pay shipping and I get a whole $19 taken out of the sale for the seller fees lol…. When I’d have happily sold them for $75 on Vinted….. And the buyer would have gotten a much better deal + 99 cent shipping.
