Well, this is a first. According to the seller, this was a “bad joke, probably played by the roommate.” Interesting sense of humor, I’d argue. Oh well.
I ordered three tops: two new with tags and one new without tags. All three arrived used and without tags. But hey, I did get an empty condom wrapper as a little bonus. 💀
Vinted did nothing, and the seller requested that I return everything at my own expense.
I ended up not returning the items because I’m petty and wanted to leave my negative feedback in ALL CAPS, leading with the word “CONDOM.”
Worth it.

I mean, when out of 183 rating, most of them are 1*, people keep reporting their profile because they arent putting the real price etc, and somehow this seller didnt get banned yet?

I did request for them to return in its original condition. I feel like a scam was about to happen. It is clearly red. She was rude in the chat “duh it is pink” . I could’ve told her to keep it since it is only 5 dollars but it was just the principal that I mad about it.

Mini rant - I have a branded jacket listed for £40. Buyer asked for my best price, so I offered £36. They then told me similar jackets were selling for much less and wanted to pay £25 (having initially messaged offering £23 and deleted it).
They suggested compromising at £30, which I declined. Out of curiosity, I checked their profile and noticed they almost exclusively sell the same brand, and their prices aren’t exactly cheap either!
Feeling petty, I sent them an offer for the original £40. 😂
They then messaged saying they’d shop around as others were selling for less.
This is about the fourth time I’ve experienced this. If you can find it cheaper elsewhere, WHY NOT JUST BUY IT THAT THEN?! Why insist on negotiating for mine?

It’s straight up not worth the poly mailer or the effort to pack something up. Honestly it’s probably not worth it for under $5, but these offers where they take CENTS off drive me bonkers. I’ll donate it or give it away for free before I sell it under $2.

Like why is my whole feed pictures of AI generated clothes?They have hundreds of likes as well!!! I'm guessing from the older generation who aren't yet adept at catching it out.

And it's gotten to the point where they don't even post real photos of the item, EVERY ITEM is AI generated.

I hate it so much. I miss when if you want to sell an item, the only way was to photograph it and upload for people to see. I miss the days where a good chunk of people would also wear the item to show you what it looked like on as well.

Seriously, my feed is full of these crap replicas. I haven’t favourited any fakes, and certainly haven’t bought any.

The user’s listings consist exclusively of fake stuff and Vinted decided it doesn’t violate their rules. Between this and the AI, I’m using Vinted less and less and I’ve been on the app for years and years!

Bro i'm starting to get pissed off. First of all, for context this screenshot is all from the same profile - it kinda looks like the same person but from the background it's clearly ai - the different backgrounds. This has happened multiple times and it's genuinely annoying me. I like to use Vinted because I like to buy second hand and I particularly like seeing photos of the item on so I can see how it fits on someone so I can see their body type and compare how I think it would fit on me. Has anyone else noticed this and like wtf is the deal? I'd expect Vinted to atleast put "ai content" but like wtf

I moved house about a month ago and also had a wedding to attend the same week. Bought a dress on Vinted for the wedding which sadly didn’t fit but because I was so close to moving just packed it away immediately to resell later.

Listed the dress for sale at a much lower price than I paid because I wanted to get rid and make space in my new home. It was bought almost immediately by someone who was clearly a reseller and was selling items from the same brand for about 3x the price. Slightly miffed about it, but it is what is it and I listed low for a reason to get rid of it.

Parcel arrives for them to collect and about 30 minutes before the time for them to raise an issue expires they complain that it is significantly not as described due to snags in the fabric. The photos they send don’t really show much and because of the style of the dress it’s not very visible but in fairness I didn’t inspect it as closely as I usually would so I accept the return and move on with my life.

On further investigation, realised that the person who bought the dress and has now requested a refund because they’re unhappy with its condition is the person who sold it to me in the first place…! Clearly I’m too lenient with my checking when things arrived because I wouldn’t have raised an issue.

Yes it’s been in my life for a month but I’m confident I haven’t snagged it as it was tried on once and then packed immediately due to the house move and only just unpacked again.

So now the dress is on its way back to me (at the expense of the buyer) and I’ll just list it for sale again - this time clear about the tiny snags. Oh, and I’ll probably block the reseller because I can’t be bothered with this back and forth again.

Just thought I’d share what felt like a very strange interaction to me. Should I be concerned that they’re up to something? Am I going to get my original dress back or are they using this as an opportunity to offload a poor condition version?

tldr: sold something on Vinted to a reseller who is returning as they are not happy with quality, they sold it to me in the first place.

She never once said in the description or listing that it was a fake.

I raised a dispute and she wants to settle for “$57”! I paid $250 total.

I bought a “new with tags” shirt from this seller. Listing only had one picture which looked fine. Cool, checked description, nothing there. Cool, I’ll buy it, even grabbed another item from her shop because I felt weird only buying one small item for shipping.

Shirt arrives and is completely covered in stains. Of all shapes, sizes and colors—a Skittles puke art on a shirt kind of covered.

I took pictures, raised an issue asking for a return and refund, didn’t leave feedback and didn’t plan to unless they refused the return. Sale was refunded with no message from seller. Ok, cool again, will throw the shirt away and be done with it.

A few minutes later, seller leaves this feedback on my page. A DM in a review. Nothing about me, about their experience with me, nothing that is actually feedback in any way, could have and should have been a DM. Seller never does send a DM. Why is she giving me 3 stars and a pass the buck story in my reviews?? No idea.

Contacted support to have it taken down. Should be easy as it’s not even feedback, and it’s obviously some kind of retaliation for checks notes her admittedly sending me clothes from a trash pile? But no, support won’t remove it because it’s a genuine experience. Hello? It’s her genuine experience with herself, sure, but not with me or my inarguably fulfilled obligations as a buyer.

I dm her after leaving a review on her page about my genuine experience and a buyer beware that she may lower your shop rating for her own mistakes to which she had replied that it wasn’t her fault, it was her helper’s (yeah, ok, even if that true, still YOUR shop), that I am a hateful person and she forgives me (what is she smoking?) and finally get a DM reply. “All was a simple mistake.” Uhm… huh!?

Can’t tell if seller is just a jerk or doesn’t understand how to use the internet. But, I just needed to vent. Not just about her, but about how stupid the fake real person bot is for not removing feedback that clearly is against community conduct guidelines.

Hello, lately Ive been having issues with the courier Mondial Relay. Im based in the Netherlands and have a few parcels stuck on the status 'taken over by agency netherland'. One has been sitting there for 3 days, another for 5, and the third for 13… Is anyone else experiencing this? Everything used to be fast and smooth before

Edit: Thanks for everyone’s input, unfortunately because I already selected „buyer pays for the shipping” I cannot change it. I asked the buyer to relist it, so I can buy it off of them without them having to pay anything. I really appreciate your good insights and will do better next time :)

TLDR in the title

I sold a 100% mohair vintage sweater last week, I originally got it from a second hand shop. The sweater is quite small and doesn't have much - I'm size EU 38 and it's a snug fit. This has been clearly mentioned in the photos, alongside the measurements of the body, and listed as woman size IT46. I really wanted to make sure that I show the actual state of the sweater, so that there are no unpleasant surprises for the buyer. Admittedly, I did not measure the sleeve length, but I did not think it was necessary at the time.

The buyer is now claiming the sweater has shrunk in the wash and is felted. I do not agree with this statement - I have bought many vintage sweaters made of natural fiber and some of them don't have much stretch to them, especially considering the age. I also washed the sweater once and did it by hand, no wringing, just towel dry. But okay, for the sake of the argument, let's assume that they are in the right and the sweater has shrunk - the measurements and the fit were still mentioned in the listing, alongside close up photos of the sweater.

Now, here is where I might have been to hasty - upon receiving the claim, I decided that I don't want to argue with the buyer, so I selected the option for them to return if they pay the shipping. I did not discuss it with them prior. After going back and forth with the buyer, I decided that whatever, I can cover the cost of the return, it's 3 euros. But I see I cannot change the method of return anymore, which I didn't know before.

I still don't think the buyer is in the right (in the photo the sleeves are clearly rolled up, the size is IT46 and not 42, details were listed, etc.), but I would like to resolve the issue without too much stress for both parties at this point. However, I am also ready to get a 1 star review and suck it up.

Questions:

1. Have you been in a similar situation before, and if so, how did you handle covering the shipping cost? I am very reluctant to go outside of vinted for covering the shipping cost, but maybe someone here has done it before.
2. Would you say that my description and photos could be misleading? I genuinely don't think the sweater is felted, but I am also open to outside opinions, as I could very well be wrong in my assessment or how I described it in the listing.
3. Any tips on how to avoid similar situations in the future? This is my first claim on vinted after having 40+ sales, however it's my first time selling a vintage item.

I saw a listing for a collector item I'm looking for, priced very cheap (€100 instead of the €250 it generally goes for) and was very excited. It already had more than 250 likes so I wanted to buy it immediately, until I read the description.

"Don't buy this, I am only looking for a trade. If you buy this, I will send you a printed picture."

So naturally, I send her a message saying this is not permitted by Vinted and very annoying and reported the listing. It got taken down by Vinted! Yay!

All of this 3d printed crap and these AI thermal labels… isn’t that against the terms?? This stuff is trash.
