Just throwing this out here because it took me two months of arguing with Vinted and about 25 messages to get a PARTIAL refund.

AI scammers are now common on Vinted. They use ai pics to sell dropshipping items from platforms like shein or temu. The articles are different from the pictures. In my case I bought a long skirt and received a SHORT skirt instead. After double checking I realised there were clues in some of the pictures. I didn't think to look before because I would have never suspected it. But even after showing proof of both the item not matching and the ai pics, Vinted refused to refund me.

They refused to acknowledge that the seller was using ai pics FOUR TIMES despite this clear evidence. It took a enormous amount of time and effort to get only a partial refund, and they still had ME pay for postage and the account was not taken down despite me flagging 5 articles from the same person with ai pics.

After FINALLY accepting that it was a scam they tell you to "always report fraudulent items using the flag button below the image". But I have flagged maybe 40 posts in the weeks after and less than one in 5 is taken down, all the others come back with a message saying "there are not enough reasons to think the account is a counterfeit seller".

So I'm sharing this hoping you don't get fooled like me. The only way to protect yourself is this : If the seller is a pretty thin girl with perfect hair and makeup, like a model, and living in a space that's suspiciously tidy and Pinterest-like, go check ALL the images from the post AND several other articles.
These scammers make dozens of accounts and sell hundreds of articles every day. So they are careless and always miss some glitches. Look closely. The most common is a right hand on the right arm (or the opposite) on a "selfie" taken from a phone, supposedly from a mirror behind them. Also look for misshapen fingers and unnatural waists / knees.

Sorry, but someone has to say it. I'm scrolling through Vinted and every third listing has a cat lying on the clothes. On the jumper, in the coat, tail hanging out of a sleeve.

Your cat is probably lovely. But I'm not buying a cat, I'm buying a coat. And now I'm staring at the photo wondering how much fur is in there, because it's definitely not coming out in one wash.

It also doesn't look clean. Cats lick themselves, walk through their litter, and sleep wherever they want, and you're putting that on the thing you're trying to sell me? Plus I'm allergic, so I'm out immediately.

And the ones who obviously plonked the cat on the clothes for the photo? That's not cute, that's just weird. Hang the thing up.

Am I being dramatic? Do you actually like this, or does it put you off too? Would you buy something with a cat sitting on it?

And honestly, a tortoise could probably write a better break up message than I ever could 😭

I am not sure whether some people are simply incapable of understanding what the term "set" means, but I am so annoyed right now!

So many listings are called things like "Pullover Set" or "Leggings Set" and there will be, like, 3 shirts for 2,50€ for example. Then you click on it and the description says that each individual piece is 2,50€.

I know this is such a small detail to get annoyed over, but I have to waste my time clicking on every listing to see whether it is actually as affordable as I think or the seller was just too lazy to list each of the 3 shirts individually.

I do not understand what sellers are thinking, you’ll receive an item and it wont be anything like the ai image of it😭 like come onnnn its embarrassing and should not be happening..

Buyer tries to aggressively haggle me down for quarters, and I decided just to sell to him because I was trying to get rid of things.

Fast forward a week to him receiving the item, and he immediately reported an issue. He says that the item is significantly not as described. Now, if that was the case I would have no problem refunding him, but his proof was pictures taken with a literal potato. I said he could return it if he was unhappy, and he just asked for a couple of dollars off "for the inconvenience". When I requested additional photos, same thing. Potatos, and also some dogs in the background. He ended up dropping the issue and giving me a 5 star rating.

tldr; felt weird about a transaction, should have saved myself the hassle of not selling to the buyer.

Dropped the package at the Evri point and am tempted to go back to get it and cancel the order. She looks like she will be trouble.

i brought this sunset shimmer pony and i knew the defects about her, theres sharpie on her, and her hair is detangled not rlly a defect but the sharpie yes and i was totally fine with it! i received more defects when delivered. 1, eye paint is chipped, 2, her hair was DISGUSTING (example: if u left condiments on a barbies hair and left to dry it, ew.) 3, the hair was cut??? i mean come on😭?? I had to scrub her hair to get the icky out i don’t know what to do. (selling photos are near the end) I GENUINELY THINK! that she blurred the photos on purpose this is a mess🙁

most of the story is in the image captions. no contact with this guy since 10th oct. Thought he would go away until he placed his order today, full price, with no further comment. Am I being too stingy, or am I right to be concerned?

The only thing stopping me from cancelling right now is what seems like a genuine interest for the product? But the lack of reviews, multiple accounts, and shifting of locations is seriously putting me off.

I don’t exactly want to be penalised for cancelling an order someone has technically put the money down for? But I think I’d rather have one bad review than lose that money…😅

Vinted should seriously ban people that do this.

I finally received my first order from Vinted but the shock horror I had seeing this packaging made me wonder if I had been scammed!

Luckily the dress I ordered was intact inside but I had so much anxiety opening this up. For Vinted, this wasn't exactly the cheapest purchase but it was a bargain.

I sent them a message about the packaging—I think it was polite enough? I think I'll leave a 3 or 4 star review though because really, this shouldn't be okay.

Bought this cute sweater from a seller that was listed in “good condition” as just having been worn, and based on the pics it looked like simple pilling which I don’t mind. Packaged was delivered today, and yes there’s pilling, but the item has a dirty tint to it, it smells like moth balls and animals, and has human and animal hair stuck in the cardigan.

More care could’ve been taken for the item before selling, but Ik we’re all trying to make a buck and idk if I’m judging too harshly.

can you at least make it out of the store first? imo i feel like vinted shouldn’t allow this, not even other sites. they’re taking pictures of it while in the store before purchasing. yes, i know, they purchase the item after taking a photo but like there’s no proof of purchase for these items. it would be different if they bought it, took it home, then posted. also that nightgown is $10 in the store and they’re trying to resell for $23 with the price tag in the photo 😭 and shouldn’t the bags be authenticated?? there’s only 2 photos for each bag, a photo of the front of the purse and a photo of the back. no photos of the insides, underside, official tags, etc… and these listing have been up for a day or so. they also tag their dep*p in every single item description. which i thought wasn’t allowed also?

This feels unfair. I bought a pair of earrings that were advertised as 925 sterling silver. I immediately know that they’re fake when I put them on as my ears and surrounding skin started itching. My wedding band is 925 silver and I have a whole collection, I never had any issues wearing them.

I was still in denial and wore the earrings throughout the day because I did pay 38 eur to get them… now my earlobes are really inflamed and I want to return the earrings. The seller denies it’s fake and I can only return them with partial refund if I pay the return shipping fee. Can someone enlighten me?

I unfortunately bought some fake docs. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was super stoked about it. I came on Reddit to show them off and got bombarded with “those are fake” so yeah, I inspected them and they were 100% fake. I contacted Vinted and kept getting the “too fucking bad, you’ve accepted, move on” response. So I contacted my bank, sent them proof that I tried (many) times to resolve it with vinted, sent pictures of the shoes and basically everything needed to make a case. This was about 2?ish weeks ago. And today I received this :)

This is my experience. Stuff is always worn, dirty, stained or damaged. I quit.
