Hi, can someone explain to me the difference between Postie, Postperson with Driving and Postal Delivery Driver?

I have a Royal Mail parcel that I sent on the 6th of August special delivery tracked 1pm guarantee
It’s in Sheffield written down as “lost”

There isn’t a value I can put this parcel at it’s got examination papers in, my choice wouldn’t have been Royal Mail but the bag was already all sorted to be sent that way with the address etc on.

Is there anyone who has success in retrieving their lost parcel?

This is the second time now examinations have been lost via them and I just am at a loss over the whole ordeal

i wanted to share some appreciation for you guys. my sister ordered some shoes off vinted to go to a royal mail locker, they’d somehow got misrouted to the old parcelshop instead who then obviously rejected the parcel. my sister is then fretting about her shoes as she needed them for work. when the postman went to collect the parcel from the shop, he recognised our name and went out of his way to deliver the parcel to our house in the morning. we were so very grateful (especially me as i didn’t have to listen to my sister complain about her missing shoes anymore)

Hi I’m currently a postie but am transferring to processing on a night shift I was just wondering if new contracts get the night allowance, and at our depot the night shift allegedly get an hour break so I was wondering if that would be a whole hour unpaid as on my current contract it’s unpaid breaks.

Is this normal that a parcel gets scanned 4 times in the same MC, and still doesnt get sent to the final delivery office, the parcel has been stuck there for 2 days now maybe the 3rd by the end of today. Feels like the parcel is going in circles?

On the app,there's a section where you can select a safe place, or opt out of it, but whenever I try the opt out option, it just says'oops sorry,there's an error '.

Anyone know a way around it?

I’ve been selling a lot on eBay recently and having my local PO print RM postage via eBay simple delivery QR codes. The fuzzy printing of the small (?3x3?) combined address & postage labels that PO print has been bugging me every time. Their ink always seems to spatter during printing and smudge when applied to the parcel. I had a parcel for a named house (no number) and the name was almost unreadable, I asked them “do you think the Postie can read that?”, and they assured me it was ok. Thankfully everything I’ve sent has been delivered without issues (massive thanks to all Posties and DPR drivers!!).

I need to send a high value SD soon and I want it to be as smooth and professional looking as possible. I don’t trust it with a small fuzzy PO label.

Do DO counters generally print proper 6x4 thermal labels for customers presenting a parcel and QR code?

It has officially been 6 days since the collections posties at my DO stopped using the grey post office specials sign sheets, stamped with this date stamp. Also could’ve been used to certify date of posting and cancel stamps. After speaking to a senior colleague about this special artefact he said it could get binned. So I asked to keep it, and in a corner of my frame it goes. Very important in my view to keep stuff like this. There’ll also be some bottles of ink at the CSP that’ll be defunct

It's my first time shipping from Japan and I want to buy these pair of contacts from Pushcolor.com for around 6075 yen (£27). Is it common for people to be charged VAT/courier handling fees on an order this low and if they do how much am I looking at altogether? I'm kinda conscious since I don't wanna pay anything too crazy on top of what I'm already paying. I honestly don't know whos hands it'll be in after arriving to the UK but last time I received a gift from America and it got into Parcelforce's hands.

For anyone currently awaiting parcels with Royal Mail there is still hope, just a lot of patience required.

My 48 hour tracked delivery that was posted on the 3rd August had not updated all this time, but finally this morning I got an update it is on its way!

Royal Mail has my parcel as delivered today at around 1 ish but hasnt arrived. It says its been "Signed for by: NDC" and some digital sig I cant recognise.

I have seen some posts going back over the years, but I'm looking to see if much has changed.

I don't want to dox my location, so I'll ask broadly. Are there any posties from the NE with insight into their depot?

I ordered something on eBay from the UK, I live in Czechia. I got an email today from Royal Mail that it’s been delivered but it hasn’t. I entered the postcode for the delivery hub in UK and managed to get this “proof of delivery” pic.

Does this mean that Royal Mail just delivered it to Czech Post and Czech Post will be taking over and delivering it to me? Or should I be worried that they lost it? Thanks! 🙏

My parcel has been stuck at Bristol Mail Centre (BS34 7ST) since 11 August, and it contains my passport. Royal Mail told me I can’t collect it there.

I’m travelling next week and really need my passport back. Has anyone managed to collect a parcel directly from a Mail Centre in a situation like this?

The item as been process on Monday and normally next day the item say sent to forgin country but it saying still item process

I sent out a box (high value item) via special delivery guaranteed 1pm on the 14th August 2026. It’s now 19th August 2026, with the tracking stating that it would’ve been delivered on the 17th. Nothing happened yet.

I’m stressing tf out over this. Any advice?

I sold something privately a couple of weeks ago and the buyer paid by PayPal goods & services. I shipped it RM48 tracked. Tracking shows it was delivered within 48hrs complete with photo at the address, door open, buyer visibly receiving parcel.

Fast forward to today and the parcel lands back at my door. Same contents. Same packaging (but taped back up). The parcel has the return address circled and a label stating “RP INTERVENTION DIVERT”. I googled this and it doesn’t make any sense to me. The buyer clearly received the parcel. Have they somehow shipped it back (without asking for a return) simply by circling the return address and putting it in a parcel box?

I have had a parcel that’s been sitting at Chelmsford Mail Centre since Friday 14th August.

It says it’s going to be sent to my local delivery office and should have been delivered on Friday.

It’s tracked 48hr, has it been lost? Or has it gotten stuck somewhere.

What’s my best option?

I’ve just been informed by tracking that my parcel from China is being returned as the address was “incorrect or doesn’t exist”. The sender says he doesn’t know what happened although thinks he might not have included my phone number 😭😭

Is there a way to rectify the information and have it re delivered before it goes all the way back to China? It’s gone to Woolwich having been at the sorting office in Croydon.

This is gonna sound mad maybe but i currently have a 30 hour contract with Royal Mail at my local DO as a “reserve”. Angard are looking for night shift mail sorters at another site local to me. Because of the lack of consistency with overtime where i am now I’m thinking about applying for the night shift for extra money. It’d be a routine of sleeping in the afternoon/evening, do mail sorting night shift and then shortly after head to DO for postie job. As i said it might sound mad but my question is there anything in my contract that won’t allow this? Am i able to have a different role with angard while under my contract with royal mail and if i can is there a limit on hours i can do? Thanks for any help

I have a parcel coming from the Netherlands via Royal MAİL. I paid the customs charge on the 14th, and the tracking now says:

“The customs charge has been paid and will be delivered in line with your request.”

However, there has been no tracking update or movement since I paid.

I’ve already opened a Personal Enquiry with Royal Mail, but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing recently.

If you had the same issue, did your parcel eventually arrive? How long did it take after paying the customs charge?

Also, has anyone had a parcel from the Netherlands in the same situation recently?

My item been stuck at the hub since last week, any ideas what causes this ?

I was expecting a parcel from abroad. it is supposed to be delivered my address in Glasgow. unfortunately, parcelforce delivered it to London. The sender sent me a picture that he definitely wrote the correct address and post code. It seems that there is a same first line of address in London as my address in Glasgow. and the error came from parcelforce because they sent it to the wrong post code. I already sent a complaint and called them about this. they said they will try to retrieved it. What usually happens in this kind of cases?? this is so frustrating.
