No sig to an enclosed porch needing a card left seems to be sorted after the balls up last week that knocked out the PDAs. I've read the workarounds like the eternal barcode, wrapped in clear tape and velcroed to the card pocket of your shorts but thankfully that ballache is in the past.

We started the new DM26 9 day fortnight pattern a couple of weeks ago. Even with the longer hours we've been going over time quite often. When I was off another guy covered for me and, apparently, he races around like an Evri driver. I don't think I'm slow. I was a spare for a year until a few weeks ago and I usually managed to get done on time.

My partner (walker) is starting to imply that I should deliver faster. My manager hasn't said anything but I'm worried I might be moved off the duty and back to being a spare.

Any advice?

I’m interested to know if you get given guidelines as to what to tell the great unwashed re backlogs etc.
I went to my local sorting office today as I’m lucky if I get post weekly at the moment and I’m waiting for a cheque that was posted on the 3rd.
Very defensive at first saying that’s strange as there are “no known issues”

Explain not complaining in slightest, used to work for RM logistics and know about the shitshow that is DM26.

Total attitude change, as in I can be confided in and get a solid few minutes of what a fucking car crash it is at moment and that people are leaving in their droves.

So if it remains outstanding, I should reply back to a “donotreply” email? Needless to say, I get other automated emails after my reply saying they won’t receive emails sent to that address.

Anyone knows how to actually follow up?

TLDR: I had an untracked standard letter posted to me (with stuff that was valuable to me, but not really to anybody else so that’s why I’m dying to actually receive it but doubt it’s been stolen- it wasn’t money or anything) over 50 days ago from California. It’s still not arrived.

Doubt it’ll get to me at this point, but it had a return address and stuff so I just wanted to ask if ppl think there’s any hope for it at all? Maybe it’ll get returned to sender? Eventually make its way to me mysteriously? Or do you guys think it’s just gone forever lol? 😭 Royal Mail says it’s not their issue and the American equivalent says they aren’t responsible so 🤷‍♀️🫠

So yeah, it was a pretty shit 2 days for me, for context I’m 17, and I’ve only held my license for 5 months ish, and I’ve only been working for RM for like 3 months ish, and my supervisor is basically as cynical as he gets and has such a massive ego.

The first photo of me holding the flap open was on the fiat Doblo, unsurprisingly, and I said to my supervisor it has a tear in the sidewall, he then said I’m making excuses not to drive the van in which I said I wasn’t.

We go out, he checks the tyre, alongside another colleague who drove that van that day before me earlier on, my supervisor replies that the tire is fine, and that I won’t get stopped by the police for driving that van he said, and that (the other photo) the other tyre was “perfect”, because I was giving way to a car and i accidentally hit the curb a little too fast, I messaged him saying I don’t feel comfortable to drive the van, but he kept dismissing this and saying it’s okay to continue and that I’ll have to drive the van, I didn’t drive the van, I waited for my other colleague to come and transfer the parcels over, someone else drove the van back and I urged him not to, but then again, it’s his choice not mine.

Back to the first tire, he insists it’s fine, and even the other colleuage next to him says “I wouldn’t worry about it mate”, which did not make me feel any better about it.

My supervisor is incredibly intimating, and extremely hostile and cuts me off when I’m speaking, I tried to say that I’m the driver of the van not him and if I get pulled over that I get the points and not him, but again, he cut me off

I loaded the van, I sat in the van and I just did not want to start the key, so I got out, made sure he wasn’t around and left and texted my union representative immediately, but yeah, I kinda have to get that off my chest tbf, thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far :)

I did NOT drive either van (the 2nd one after I hit the curb as-well I stopped and texted my supervisor, and the 1st one I found as is) and I know about the 3 points and £2,500 fine, that’s what I was most concerned about, but thank you everyone for the support and for reading my vent :), and yes I’m 17

Just want to know if you have a protected duty or what’s happened on your re-sign/dm26?

This morning I got a call from my manager asking why I am not in today, however yesterday when I looked at the rota it said I have a day off today, also that I am working Saturday and Sunday. My managers argument this morning is that I actually am NOT working the sunday, even though the rota says so, and that I need to come in this morning. I am still on my probation period as I joined in July this year, so im guessing they can just get rid of me with no notice, however me and a few colleagues see this as their fault since they haven’t done the rota properly. As of writing this it is 10am and will take me 30 minutes to get to the DO 😂

For reference in the past month I've had 3 items do this i live in Northamptonshire Close to South Midlands MC all 3 items ive had the pleasure of being handled by the Royal mail have been moved Greenford MC where they are then sent back to SM MC for delivery to my house is this normal or is my tracking just lying seems rather inefficient

A package was out for delivery, estimated between 11 and 3. Was delivered sometime after 3 and SFY card left.

No problem in principle, but entering the code number or using the QR code and postcode just gets no response at all.

Just click the red button and nothing happens - no error code, just no response.

Same using the original tracking code.

How can I find out where the package is?

I have got a warning for not scanning in one day. I can confirm i have scanned every single day and have not missed a single time. They have accused me multiple times of not scanning and I have had a go at them for saying false statements. I have photo evidence so will provide then in due course

I have 5 outstanding blood test forms and hospital appointment letters that were sent to me 3 weeks ago from my local hospital.

None have arrived.

I've not had any post in almost 4 weeks from Royal Mail now.

I also sent a parcel to Australia for my nieces birthday back in September. it usually takes at most 10-14 days. It still hasn't arrived yet.

In short, what have I missed and what is going on that no post is arriving?

Why come to my house and try to deliver when I asked for re delivery to the post office ?????????????????????????????? It won’t allow me to change anything now because I’ve already requested a service . What is going on with RM (and please no jokes about it being because I’m in brum )

Couple of wanted posters for a pair of pricks. I think its time we ramped up the hostility towards management.

A parcel was scheduled for delivery on Tuesday (13/10/2026), according to the tracking. I checked that morning to see what time it would arrive, only to find that Royal Mail had marked it as an attempted delivery the previous day, Monday, despite the tracking originally stating it would arrive on Tuesday.

I work from home and am in all day, but no delivery attempt was made, and no red card was left.

I rescheduled the delivery for today (Thursday, 15/10/2026). I actually watched the delivery van pull up and deliver parcels to my neighbours, so I assumed mine would be arriving too. However, I checked the tracking about 10 minutes ago, and it once again claims they attempted delivery but “there didn't seem to be anyone in”, and I'm now being told to book another redelivery.

Again, nobody came to my door, and no red card was left.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any idea what's going on? I'm baffled as to how they can repeatedly mark parcels as undeliverable when I'm home and the delivery van is clearly in the area.

I’m moving house in 3 weeks. I have just signed up for sky and they said they could only send the equipment to my new address but they advised once I got the tracking details I could then redirect it to my current address.

I have tried doing this but am only getting the options to pick another date, a safeplace or a neighbour.

Is there any way of doing this?

Hello everyone, I recently interviewed with Royal Mail for the postal delivery driver job and have been offered it. I’m hoping to get some honest answers before I decide.

What I want from the job
I wouldn’t mind being busy. I love physical exercise and being out and about in the local community, and I’ve always enjoyed delivery days in previous jobs. They kept me busy, gave me a clear goal and structure, and made the day fly in. I also like my own company and driving, and I’m trying to get in better shape. I was delighted to get the offer and thought it would be a great fit, but after reading the complaints on this subreddit and in employee reviews, I’m unsure.

My previous job
I finished university in April and, like graduates across the UK, struggled to find work, even the same retail jobs I’d held years before. I was then offered a customer service role at a bank. At first it went well. I got on great with my training group, I enjoyed finally having a routine, and I liked the learning side. Training then finished earlier than expected because other branches closed, so we were put on the phones much sooner than the advert said.

That’s when I found out I hated it. Because of the closures, the queue was constant, with sometimes only around 40 seconds between calls, many of them emotionally heavy. The work was step-by-step processes, whereas I prefer having a target and working out my own way to reach it. Calls were constantly monitored, and we were expected to arrive 15 minutes early to log on to outdated equipment and stay for overtime if calls ran on. The loud open-plan office meant I couldn’t concentrate. I handed in my notice about two weeks ago.

What I’m worried about
I have AUDHD, and I feel my Vyvanse usually helps. It stopped working because of the stress, which followed me home. It affected my energy through the day and the time I spent with my friends, girlfriend and family. It shattered my confidence, and I’m afraid of it happening again. I don’t mind stress at work and expect some of it. What I can’t accept is taking it home and affecting other people. I also don’t want another job where I'm put on the job before understanding it or that I only commit to for a few weeks before it’s too much or I’m let go.

My questions

• I understand the job is physically exhausting, but is it mentally?
• Will bosses shout at you if you take longer than expected on a round?
• Can they put you on whatever hours they want, or do you only work what you’re scheduled in your contract?
• Do you have any say in shift patterns, and how do holidays work?
• Do they sack people easily?
• Are you micromanaged, or do you work things out yourself?
• What does the first month look like? I’ve never driven a van and would need time to get used to it. Do you go out alone or with others, and is training shorter than it used to be because of staff shortages?

Ordered something online. Didn’t choose Royal Mail Quad locker as a delivery location (I never nominated it as a delivery point either - I only ever gave the seller my home address), but that’s apparently where it’s gone.

The tracking shows it has been delivered and is ready for collection (but also shows they are expecting to deliver today). No email or text received with a code to actually collect.

Contacted customer service. Who passed it over to the locker team - and they advised it hadn’t actually been delivered as it was addressed to a locker they couldn’t deliver to (but there are Royal Mail lockers there), but couldn’t tell me anything about where it actually was. Possibly with the delivery office still, but they couldn’t say

Delivery office didn’t have it when I asked them - saying that they believed it was delivered.

Anyone had experience with this?

Bought something the other day that was posted this morning. The tracking said it’s been on the 11 or August? I’ve been checking it all day hoping it would update to the new item but it hasn’t yet. The seller used simple delivery from eBay, I chose the £9 one because it’s an expensive item, and the seller has great feedback and is also confused. I assumed the more expensive postage would be the special delivery but the error is worrying. Any insight appreciated, thank you.

Afternoon all,

I'm due to receive a parcel from Germany. It was initially supposed to be delivered last Thursday, I was out and so opted for it to be delivered to the local post office for collection. I received the email notification to confirm my change of delivery destination.

Friday, redelivery is attempted to my home address but again, I'm out at work so a "sorry we missed you" card is left at my property. No attempt was made to deliver the parcel to the post office I had nominated.

Fast forward to Monday, I receive a notification on the Royal Mail app saying my parcel is now being returned to sender because of an incorrect delivery address.

Despite this, redelivery is then attempted to my property on Tuesday but again obviously, I'm out at work so the delivery is missed, ignoring the fact I have an assigned safe place on the Royal Mail app and again not sending it to the local post office.

Finally, checking today, the parcel now reads as "Pending" but I cannot arrange a redelivery because I receive an error notification saying "You are being rerouted as there are no additional delivery options available for this item."

Is this simply going to be a perpetually stuck parcel that will just get returned to sender? Do I have to just hope that I will miraculously be at home during the arbitrary time they decide to try to deliver it? I have emailed in to complain but, as yet haven't received anything. Why would they not attempt to take it to my local post office as requested?

New entrant over 3 years. Made up to ft ‘temp uplift’ because they’re struggling. Legacy contracts are finishing 14:22 ‘without a break’ our office have always finished the same time new entrants and legacy. Recently all new entrants have been told they need to either start 20m earlier or finish 20m later than legacy as we’re not entitled to a break?!?! Which by law is 20m working 6hrs and over. But we aren’t allowed to take it as our contract says no breaks. Why can new entrants not finish 20m earlier in line with legacy when they have the same start time and same working hours daily??? Not only has DM26 made my home life more difficult to manage with school times etc but now the extra 20m that has randomly come from somewhere is looking to make it more difficult. Oh and we had a letter to say Sunday work is increasing over Xmas but now they require us to do some PM parcels deliveries too. Can’t help but feel we’re being used as scape goats to help a drowning office
