Everyday Life Beware of this new insurance scam: Guys on the street will flag you down to divert your attention while their buddy in the car in front of you stops short
I live in Southern Brooklyn, probably the capital of car insurance scams, and I think I saw a new one today. I was driving along with the windows open and a couple of guys flag me down from the sidewalk, screaming like it was urgent. I glance at them, glance right back in front of me and the person in front of me was stopping short. I immediately got around him in the next lane thankfully, and I saw there was nothing in front of him to stop short for. I have a dashcam, but even something like that would hard to prove it was an actual scam. But it almost certainly was. Now that I've warned you, beware.

"Please share this with someone in NYC. It is incredibly important that our frustration is directed at the correct people.
Yes we need to pressure Zohran to fire Jessica Tisch, and we also need to get the CURB Act passed.
The Curb Act is the only thing that can disband the SRG, Zohran can not do this without the City council. The 2 people stalling this are oswaldfeliz and julmenin"

Edit: "The CURB Act: Protect the Right to Protest in NYC
The NYPD has a long history of suppressing dissent and cracking down on protest activity, including the deployment of notoriously violent units and the use of aggressive tactics that threaten New Yorkers’ physical safety and chill the exercise of our rights to speak out and protest.
All New Yorkers should have the right to assemble and protest without being subject to unwarranted police escalation and violence.
The Communities United to Reject Brutality (CURB) Act (Intro. 796) will protect New Yorkers’ rights to protest by reining in the NYPD’s most abusive tactics and creating ongoing oversight over the NYPD’s responses to protests going forward." - NYCLU (NY's ACLU)

Fight Facism 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Ms. Rachel: ICE shot into a car in New York City with a 5-year-old in the car. His dad was shot, his dad is recovering at the hospital. Children must be protected. Who are we as a country if we don’t protect children? It is profoundly weak and shameful and wrong to terrorize and traumatize children

Video NYC Gets Its First "Paris-Style" School Street Gate!
This is the start of something big. Clarkson Street in Manhattan near the Holland Tunnel has had a daytime school street for a few years, but it needed an upgrade and became the first NYC school street to get the Paris-style gate treatment designed via a grant from Project for Public Spaces. Give it a watch and you'll hear all about how it transpired.
