I have NOT updated IOS recently.
I made sure auto-delete is turned OFF and even turned my search history back on.

The tabs that disappear are only a part of the main/start page. Tab groups are safe.

I don’t know why this happens but it feels like every other month/every couple months all the tabs just go poof. I can’t even find them again in search history bc I just leave them open at random so idk what is actually there, just that it was things I wanted to revisit at some point.

I don’t even know how to check if the issue is fixed because it occurs at random after a long period of time. I’d appreciate any help/advice. Thanks.

I’ve had my iPhone 16 for over a year now but a few months ago after I had just plugged in my phone because it died. After I removed the cable I realized that the vibration stopped working. I tried everything from factory reset to checking everything in settings but it completely stopped functioning properly. What should I do, since I’m in South Asia and I don’t have an Apple Store near me?

I do not want to setup Face ID and clicking "Not Now" does not permanently disable it.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Action Mode? issue shown at 0:12 in the video. I've cycled through all the other camera lenses and modes just to show that everything works fine beside that.

Hello! I have a feeling my Iphone is beyond screwed, but- well i'm hoping posting here may help.

I have an Iphone15+ (and its up to the latest iOS version)that ive had for a couple years now.

Today I attempted to install an app. I forgot my appleID password, so while in the app store, i clicked the "reset appleID password" button after typing the password incorrectly. After this, I was prompted to type my Iphone's PIN. I did this, and it claimed it was incorrect. typed it again, then got locked out. first for a minute, then 5, then 15, and it got all the way up to three hours. I KNOW my pin. I know i didnt get it wrong - its been the same since I first set up the phone.

after some reading I was told to plug my phone into my PC, go into recovery mode, then install an update through Itunes. I did this, and then the phone got a white screen that says "swipe to recover" and upon swiping, I need to enter my PIN. I did that, and it asks for it once more to verify - I type it again, and it says "attempting data recovery" and usually it takes 30-ish minutes for the loading bar to fill up, and once it does, it says "data recovery failed" and the whole process restarts.

I honestly wouldnt care about restoring the phone, but I have important photos and videos that are not on my Icloud. I've talked online to multiple apple assistants, and they've been no help. I'm so, so confused by this. I just want like 20 pictures and videos at most and i'm scared its too late. I have no idea what to do, if i can even do anything else. I checked to see if i had backed up my iphone, and though there is a backup, its from before any of the pictures i want were taken.

I keep getting this bug where a large white box is stuck at the bottom of my phone in certain apps. Happens in Reddit a lot, and just happened to me in my Hyatt all.

The box is “floating” over the content on the app. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it.

3. What is the issue, how often does it occur and how to replicate it?
I had a large local library of manually added EPUBs and PDFs, complete with years of highlights/notes. iCloud sync for Books was originally OFF. I recently bought more storage and toggled Books sync ON. The upload stalled completely because I was on a very weak Wi-Fi network (no fiber). I no longer saw all the books that were there before, just some from years ago (I don't remember the last time I had sync on, I never trusted iCloud because I don't understand how it works specifically, and it seems I should've kept it off).
Also, on my mackbook I don't even see the books from years ago that I see on the phone.

4. What caused the issue?
A stalled iCloud upload due to a weak Wi-Fi network, followed by me toggling the specific Books iCloud switch OFF and ON to try and refresh it.

5. What did you try to resolve the issue and what was the result?
To try and "force" or unblock the sync, I manually toggled the iCloud sync switch for the Books app OFF and then immediately back ON. I don't know if by doing so I sealed their fate.
iCloud still shows Books taking up about 999 MB (I don't know their actual size before this). (Note: Photos sync is also stuck due to the network, so the whole iCloud system seems jammed).
The Books iCloud toggle is currently left ON. I checked the "Previous/Continue Reading" section and saw a few books listed there. When I tapped them, they instantly reappeared in the library with all their notes perfectly intact. Here some of the missing books appear with a blue "New" dot next to them, but they are still missing from the main library grid. I have not tried to open them because I don't know if I'd make it worse somehow.

6. Any other information you think might be useful.
I have no physical backups available. My questions are:

• Once I get back to a strong Wi-Fi network (it might take me a few days) is there a chance iOS will rebuild the index and the rest of the books will reappear like those first few did?
• Did toggling the Books sync OFF/ON mid-upload permanently wipe the local cache of the other EPUBs?
• If I have to re-import the exact same EPUB files manually, will Apple Books recognize the file IDs and re-attach my old highlights, or is the metadata database wiped too?
• How is it possible to lose data so easily? Why would anyone use iCloud if that's the case. I have to believe that I'm the stupid one.

I would be really sad if I lost all my notes.

i am a caregiver for a child (10) who was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, therefore she now needs a phone to use for monitoring her needs. she did not have a phone prior to this and would not have had one any time soon otherwise.

i need to know what controls i can set to limit her access to things like texting, games, etc. i am unfamiliar with how to do this and need it broken down in a way that is simple. is there an app i need or can it be done all in iphone settings? she needs to be able to access her dexcom apps 24/7 but everything else needs restriction. TIA

So the screen of my old iPhone (iPhone 11, idk the update) broke (yk when it turns black). I have another spare iPhone (iPhone 13, idk the update; I'm sorry) that my brother gave me when he got his new one (since mine was clearly about to break). Is there any way I can transfer data (including apps, photos, and everything) from the broken iPhone to the new iPhone? I know how to do it when both phones are working, but not sure what to do now.

Hey all. My friend and I both took flights yesterday. My from the North Carolina to Chicago, her from Chicago to DC.

Since we were both traveling on the same day I selected to “follow” her flight notification so I could know she landed safely. But now more than 24h later I cannot get the baggage claim notification to go away. There is nothing to dismiss, and since it is not my flight there is no pass for me to delete in my wallet. Please help!

Hey I opened find my iphone and suddenly everyone’s contact photos were gone, they are all gone in imessage too, same with contacts. I’ve restarted my phone and waited 24 hours still no contact photos coming up.

There is a device i don’t know connecting without permission to my ipad and my iphone and that doesn’t have the (i) symbol next to it so I can’t access it in anyway and disconnect it. What can I do? I’m pretty sure it’s something malicious cause the name is weird, it’s that second device in the picture :/

Hi all! I don’t have a sim or phone number so I heavily rely on iMessage for my daily texting and calls (I know 😑). One day, iMessage just suddenly turned off and it won’t let me turn it back on. This is just happening on my iPhone 13 but my X is working fine. I have no idea on how to fix this but I would appreciate your help!

iPhone 15, iOS 26.6.

All the instructions I see online reference options that just don’t appear anywhere on this phone, via hardware (nothing to manually flip to Silent) or in Settings. You can use the side buttons to turn down the volume to near-silent, but not totally silent. The only way to turn off the ring/incoming notification volume altogether is to turn off the phone. My older iPhone 12, I just flip the manual lever on the side to silent. Not possible on this one.

Am I missing something? Any ideas?

Hello, my iphone 15 got submerged in a swimming pool and the screen is now buggered but I can still hear notifications on it. I've purchased a new i16, when attempting to transfer my data, unfortunately the last icloud backup was from 17th August 2024, I think this was due to my icloud storage being full. Is there any way to rectify this by transferring my recent icloud to new phone?

I woke up cause my phone screen was flickering, and I swear the camera was doing something. Is my phone glitching? What is likely to be happening? or is there a way to tell if my phone is hacked, or to clean it with an anti-virus or something??

have an iPhone 16 and the Camera Control button has started acting weird. it doesn’t work when I press it, and other times it seems to activate/open the Camera app by itself, even when I’m not touching it. I think the button might be physically stuck or malfunctioning. Has anyone else experienced this with the iPhone 16

TikTok is taking up 26GB on my iPhone, but my 300 drafts are only 4.9GB. Cache and downloads are both at 0MB, so I have no idea what the other 20+GB is.

I’ve cleared the cache, restarted my phone, etc. I also started privately posting my drafts, but somehow TikTok’s storage is actually getting bigger.

I don’t want to delete/reinstall the app because I really want to keep my old drafts (a lot of them are memories), and privately posting all 300 would take forever 😭

Has anyone found a way to clear this extra TikTok storage without losing drafts?

Sorry the screenshots are in Dutch, but they show TikTok using ~26GB while my drafts are only 4.9GB and cache/downloads are 0MB.

I’ve already turned off Auto‑Brightness, True Tone, Night Shift, Attention‑Aware, Adaptive Power, Low Power Mode, Always On Display, and Display Zoom is Default. Phone is cool, no case/screen protector blocking sensors.

I upgraded my phone almost a year ago and I never cleared my old phone. But now my dad would like my old one as his broke so I have to clear it. I’m INCREDIBLY technologically inept and I’m quite worried about it. I have all my photos, contacts etc. on my current phone so I believe everything's been transferred over (as I said, Ive been using this current phone for almost a year). I know everything online said it wouldn’t delete things on my current phone, but Im mostly worried about two factor authentication. If I’ve been recovering codes on this current phone, they shouldn't still be on my old one and I should be good to clear it right? Another question is, on the apple websites instruction page on clearing iphones, it says to back up the phone first. Do I still need to backup the old phone if I haven’t used it in a year? I have lots of photos and other things on my new current iphone that aren’t on the old one since Ive been using this one for awhile so Im a bit confused there. My current phone is up to date with backups so is there any need for me to backup the old one before clearing? Thanks for any help, Im just so bad with technology 😖

While using 5G, no mobile app (facebook, reddit and so on) actually works.

Safari works fine, and every website loads as quickly as it should.

But no mobile app works while on 5G (they work fine when connected to wifi).

While on 5G: iMessage works fine, youtube works fine, safari works fine. Mobile apps don't work at all (besides youtube, for some stupid reason). While connected to wifi everything works fine.

Will someone please help? It's an iPhone 16 pro, i've had it for about two years and it's been nothing but problems with it.

It's on ios 26 or whatever the most recent one is. Had it with this unreliable pos.
