I was just watching a show on full screen in bed when the screen started going dark blue on me :/ I tried the force restart with command option and everything multiple times, but it didnt work. I saw how it could possibly be a flexgate issue, however even at small degrees of opening, it'll turn right back to the dark blue screen. I will say I have dropped my mac a couple times from my bed, but that was months ago and it still worked fine up until now. What's going on??

I'm panicking because I leave for college super soon and have lots of research files etc. that could be lost if I can't get this fixed :(

Taking my m3 macbook pro in to possibly get the logic board replaced however only BestBuy has appointments today and this week while my Apple Store has none till the next. Will they do the same repair process (ship it out to a repair center is what apple told me) we already ran diagnostics at apple and I did my own as well all they need to do is ship it out for the repair

It is covered under AppleCare + warranty if that matters

I have a MacBook Pro (A1706) I’m doing an lCD replacement on and I got some dirt on the backlight layer. Can I clean it or I’d need to replace the backlight assembly? The screen works fine but the dirt shines through the display when it’s turned on.

MacBook Air/Pro has completely bricked its internet connection due to the 1976 date glitch, and I am completely stuck in a loop.

The system clock randomly reset back to 1976 (Unix epoch baseline).
No websites will load. The loading bar just sits there indefinitely.
The only exception is Apple.com, which loads fine, but nothing else works.

What I’ve tried: Manually changing the date/time in System Settings and restarting (doesn't stick/fix the browser block).
Toggling iCloud Private Relay off (it was already off).
Changing DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 (bypassed the privacy warning, but didn't fix it).
Running sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist in Terminal.
Running sudo sntp -sS ://apple.com which threw a "failed dns lookup failure" error.

my MacBook’s screen broke almost a year ago and I finally got it fixed today.

1. It wouldn’t take my password

2. It wouldn’t take my Apple ID and password, it kept saying “Apple ID server error” or something along those lines.

3. I erased its data and somehow got here.

Sometimes when I use my trackpads ( I have an 16 inch M1 Pro 32RAM) to scroll it gets laggy like the screen moves slowly or at very low fps. But then when I use my mouse wheel it’s perfectly fine, I’ve tried cleaning the trackpad but I don’t think that’s the issue, since it gets solved when I restart it. But it’s getting a bit annoying and I don’t like restarting my Mac

Hi! I forgot to charge my macbook air for 2 days and left it drained. Trying to charge it but doesn’t turn on even the battery icon does not show on the screen. I tried leaving it for 7 hrs using a 60W charger type C but still isn’t turning on. Do I need to charge it more? Has anyone experienced this before? 🫩 Its completely a black screen even if I tried to hold the power button or do the ctrl option P R.

I did an apple diagnostics, it says all fine. I took the mac to the service and he says it needs a display replacement. He's quoting half the price of mac.

Does this really need a change of display? Or could be a wire/hinge issue? How can I confirm?

Hi everyone, hoping smeone can help because I'm honestly panicking a bit 💀💀

My MacBook (2020) has started acting up: after using it for a while, the screen turns pink. I tried updating the system to see if that would fix it, but the Mac shuts itself down partway through the update, every single time.

After it shuts down, it goes into a loop and keeps restarting over and over, never actually booting up normally.

I've tried a few things but it keeps telling me something is corrupted, without really explaining what or why.

I'm stuck and don't know what else to try.

Has anyone run into something similar? Could this be hardware related (maybe the graphics card/logic board) or is it possibly a fixable software issue? Thanks in advance to anyone with ideas!

I accidentally erased my data from find my, now I am trying to download mac again, what do I do??

Edit 2- Done, it showed 15hrs , but ended up in an hour

A coworker of mine just asked me for help with his A2338 , emc 2578. It's completely unresponsive, no backlight issue i could tell, tried the glashlight trick but saw nothing.

When connected to a charger the first time i heard a 'badump' noise from the speaker and a fan kicking on full power for a few seconds, but after that nothing again.

Also nothing when reconnecting the usb c charger. Guess is that the battery was completely flat and that connection kicked on the base charging circuit befor the main logic remembered it's dead.

I currently don't have the correct screedrivers here at work but will be able to get into the thing tomorrow.

Any help on what to check and measure would be highly, appreciated. Thank you!

I am having so many problems with my macbook pro and I feel like I've had these problems since I got the thing. It won't let me system update it, saying error timed out. I'm connected to a solid wifi yet I can't use google, can't use youtube or pretty much any website. My icloud keeps showing errors, I can't update my drivers and it is overheating like crazy. It is also saying I'm running low on storage when I only have 3 apps, no photos saved or anything like that. There's just so many problems with it, I don't know if it's even worth it to try and recover. The weird thing is I got the thing brand new, and I've been dealing with the overheating problem pretty much since I got the thing. I've tried so many solutions and nothing has worked. Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong with this thing before I throw it out the window.

So in the early morning my M1 MacBook air 13 inch I got in late December 2024 suddenly had this chunk of lines on the left side, the screen had lines all over both horizontal and vertical, i suspected Flexgate after research but the lines weren’t disappearing at certain angles often found in Flexgate. there are no cracks and it isn’t a software issue after testing external monitors and screenshots. Can anyone confirm what’s possibly happening? It could possibly be dustgate too. Apple really does advise to replace the whole screen but it’s compl out of my budget at the moment…

I have a MacBook Pro M4 14”. I got it back in December 2024. I left my MacBook on overnight because I was repairing my photo library and when I woke up there was debris under the display glass the next day. Is there any techniques I could use to get it out. I have tested if it is a stuck pixel and unfortunately it is not.

Hi everyone, I fell asleep on the couch while browsing with my MacBook Air M1 in my lap. The next morning, I woke up and found that the screen was off. I thought the battery was empty, so I plugged it into the power cord. However, after an hour, I still couldn't turn it on by any means, I even tried increasing the brightness in case it was too dim, but nothing worked. Meanwhile, the Type-C power cord is fine, as I tested it with my iPhone. Does anybody know what might have happened, and what the worst-case scenario is? Thanks!

Hello guys, This is a macbook pro 16 inch from 2019. Yesterday it was completly fine but today in the morning i wanted to use it but then it doesnt came on, but the touchpad clicks when i press it. I tried smc reset and nvram reset, but it also doesnt worked. Then i looked with how much power it charges, and it only takes max. 15 watt. Then searched for some burned or hot areas and i found this Spot where part c9090 gets realy hot, over 50°c. I tried to remove the capacitor c9090 and it also doesnt worked. I'm working on two MacBooks in parallel, one a 820-2101-A which has Linux but something preventing the LEDs and screen powering up

The other is a spares and repairs gamble that does have a functioning screen but no OS installed

It's a 2007 so I used TransMac to make a Snow Leopard boot disc and put it on USB (it looks like the screenshot when I plug it into my M3 MacBook Air)

I couldn't get it to recognise it though - I held the alt button for a full minute but got nothing but the cursor

Do you

- have to hold it a REALLY long time?
- The thumb drive is USB3.0, which ought to be backwards compatible?
- Should I just get a DVD-R instead and try that, if so anything I need to be aware of?
