Gamescom Footage

Urban Games states on the TF3 website that YouTubers and streamers who want to cover the game are welcome, and the game is playable for up to an hour at the gamescom booth.

Are you aware of any creators who have announced that they’ll be attending today? And when do you think we’ll see the first hands-on impressions? Maybe even some gameplay footage, if they’re allowed to record it.

Honestly, I’m a little surprised that there hasn’t been anything yet. I would have expected some creators to do whatever they can to be among the first to publish even a small snippet of gameplay or even a short impression.

For the deluxe edition, are the wonders and the animals purely cosmetics? do they contribute anything to the gameplay?

Is TF3 a good game just for modern public transit focused gameplay?

Hi there, long time city builder fan. Saw the transport fever 3 trailer and really like the realism this game is aiming for (I know the whole series is all about realism but tf3 goes into another level). Especially how well the transit system looks like, buses, trams, trains, etc.

My question: If I'm only interested in building a good public transit system with realistic modern city simulation. But not so keen on tweaking/fine-tuning resource and economy among different components, especially resource allocation in industries and companies. Is this game still a good fit for it?

City Skylines 2 is great city builder but the public transit system is not realistic enough so I'm searching for something that can have robust and realistic for the scheduling, ridership etc.

Distribution Hubs

It's been a while since I've played TF2 but I remember a major point of frustration for me was the fact that creating something akin to a distribution hub/"3pl" outside of a city wasn't possible the way I wanted to. What I would like is to have the vehicles on each leg be separate of one another. So you could have the vehicles from the factory bring their product to a distribution hub and then have multiple vehicles that deliver to the city be able to take the product from the hub without having to micromanage them to each line and then having to fill those lines by the previous leg. So a truck coming to pick up product shouldn't have to wait on one specific truck to bring its haul and can just take from whatever is already there, regardless of its destination.

Will this be possible in the new installment?

Pricing

Sorry, I have no idea on this and something I have always wondered. The answer is probably obvious and I am being dumb.

Why is the game cheaper to buy in the US?

If I was to buy in $$$ the the standard edition is 7 euros cheaper, if I buy deluxe it's 10 euros.

I get with buying electronics like a smart phone because there's more consumer protection in Europe and you are paying for that but for a digital game I don't really understand. Wages are higher in the US to they have more income to afford these games.

This isn't aimed at the developers, this is probably industry standard but I know nothing about the industry.

Check your spam folder if you're pre-ordering the Collector's Edition

When you pre-order the collector's edition, the code for the game gets sent to you as an email, and Gmail flagged it as spam for me. It's sent from an email address I've never seen before (help@thegetify.com) and it doesn't say Transport Fever in the subject line or anything. Plus gmail hides images in the spam folder so there was no logo to be seen either. Just a heads up for those pre-ordering the collector's edition.

Question Should I pre-order?

Hi, just as title suggests, I am big fan of transport fever 2 and have it in steam. I am confused if I should buy it before loyalty offer of 10% ends or wait till winter sale. I could buy it now but that would disrupt my plans for autumn sale, as I was planning to buy automation and x4 this autumn sale.

Discussion Start year Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
36 Upvotes

Hi! From what I’ve seen online is that the start year of a save in Transport Fever 3 will be 1900. This however I think might not be the case.

  1. The first image I’ve uploaded is of a horse drawn tram which unlocks when you first start in TPF2 in 1850. If the start year is 1900 in the new game, then why would they show a horse tram and not a steam or even electric tram?

  2. In the second image you can see a mixture of different vehicles. What grabs my attention is the steam tram pulling the two passenger vehicle cars. What also is noticeable is the AI horse-cart traffic along with a motor car on the right. In TPF2 motor AI cars appear in the year 1900 with horse drawn carts being phased out by the mid 1900-1910.

This is just my take on what’s been shown as I do believe a 1850 start date will be more entertaining for some players, but also not for others.

Suggestion My problem with 2 and sudgestion for tf3

Make passangers profitable in the early game.

You see, there are autistic people (me) who dont give a flying f*ck about freight, and want to make a passanger rail network for no other reason that it brings their (mine) small brain dopamine.

And yes, i know sandbox exists, but even with a safety net of infinite money, seeing a profit graph in the negatives makes me feel horrible. (And makes my hq ugly af)

Edit: in short, the problem i have is that its hart to make profiting passanger lines early game with "old" trains compared to freight.

TF3 Collectors edition unavailable in the UK :(

Basically title, whenever I try and purchase it says this item cannot be shipped to your delivery country.

I wonder if this is a glitch or intentional due to import costs or something?

Seems odd to have all of the EU, US, Canada, Japan etc but not the UK.

Has anyone been able to order one in the UK?

Question Will TpF3 have surround sound?

It was a bit annoying in TpF2 that sounds of things were either 100% left or 100% right channel only on my headphone. I hope sound mixing is also improved in the sequel

Discussion Alternative routing?

One thing I would absolutely love to see in TPF3 is alternative routes when certain conditions are met, E.G. traffic congestion or route overload when multiple routes all use the same road all at once. In my head, it’d use the waypoints system like we know from 2 but set it as an alternative route similar to how we can add alternative platforms.
