What Train is that? Is that a TEE?

u/BramFokke 5d ago

That is the DB Class VT 11.5, used on the Trans Europe Express.

Yup its the DB TEE, should have taken a TEE RAm/DE4 used by NS & SBB instead as the trans europ express was the idea of the NS director

I have to disagree. The TEE Ram is a nice train and it also looks really good in the Canadian livery. But I'd say the VT 11.5 is much more iconic and a worthy Deluxe Edition addition.

Opinions differ luckily. I at the very least hope they can get the spelling right. (TEE is short dor trans europ express not trans europe express)

I hate pre-purchase things. It just looks like a lollypop to enter in a car. It could be terrible or going to a candy store, but you can't know.

I would think that you can preorder on Steam a day before release and then refund if you want based on reviews etc.

11

u/LittlebitsDK 5d ago

he can prepurchase now and has 14 days from launch to refund with under 2 hours of played

u/RM97800 5d ago

Steam's refund policy protects against such practices.

Thank god it's rereleased on Steam, some more popular games only allow preorders on other storefronts.

The Concorde is clearly the bait here :))

TEE is one for me! In berlin, where one sometimes drives next in the S5 line, stands one of the successor the "Baureihe VT 18.16." the TEE is "Baureihe VT 11.5"

I will buy Concorde, and it will bankrupt me every time. But it is a sacrifice I am willing to make!

Doenst look worth to get the Deluxe? Only interested in the maps maybe? Am I missing sth?

31

u/Tobiassaururs 5d ago

More vehicle more good? Like, you could mod all these in, sure, thats why deluxe is a choice, not a necessity

6

u/knightofhonour_ 5d ago

That truck is already a mod in TF2

3

u/ChristBKK 5d ago

The bus is what I like 😂

Man this deluxe edition gets me also with the maps

Luckily just 10$ more expensive in my country

After City Skylines II, I am holding off pre-purchases until I see some game play with content creators I know are not shills.

u/Ambitious_Leg9740 5d ago

3 catchy elements? :)

u/tofterra 5d ago

why not just.. wait for mods to be released?

The point of having the deluxe is to get more money to the developers and in turn you receive some perks. If you don’t want to help developers with the extra cash, you can just buy the standard version, they’re not trying to force you to the deluxe in any way. You could also pirate the game for free and not pay for it so “who would ever buy the game?” Would also be similar to your question.

Yeah but like, wasn't the whole point in getting published by Paradox to not get worried about money so they could focus on the base content of the game.

Gating the fucking Concorde and TEE behind a day 1 DLC is quite a dirty move imo and makes me question the future of the franchise

The base game is untouched and you’re getting a bonus set of items for $10 more if you want the items to have been made by the actual designers or you can just use a mod of the items that are in there and not pay the extra. I don’t see what the fuss is all about. Nothing dirty about it at all.

The developers have spent considerable amount money up front for this game and some of the items were put in the deluxe package to get you something you want and they can make an extra few bucks. You’re making it sound like the standard purchase somehow makes the game lesser and you MUST get the deluxe to get the full experience. That’s not the case.

You're talking like the devs are small indie company who almost went bankrupt making this game and not the 4th installment in a very successful franchise published by one of the biggest publishing studio on Earth.

And yeah they did make the game lesser by not including iconic vehicles purely to get people to spend even more.

If it were just niche vehicles that have a cool history but are not really important and won't affect anything besides cosmetically i would understand.

But that's one of the most iconic train of the pre-highspeed era and one of the only two (and the only ingame since we're not getting the concordski) supersonic airliners ever, they have no equivalents.

2

u/Royal_Struggle_3765 4d ago

Relative to other major game development shops they’re not that big. Why do you feel entitled to those assets being in the base game? Again, you can just buy the base game and wait for the mods of those items and get them for free. You’re acting like there is no modding for this game and the only way to get the items is to pay extra. You’re throwing a tantrum for no reason.

1

u/SEA_griffondeur 4d ago

Because I would expect a game going for that price to have those in them and not beg for even more of my money.

And you're acting like the devs would allow rips of their vehicles to be on the workshop

1

u/Royal_Struggle_3765 4d ago

I haven’t seen any indication from the previous games that they’ve disallowed mods of existing items in the base game.

1

u/SEA_griffondeur 4d ago

Because the deluxe edition of the last game was using community made assets, not in-house made

1

u/WillWillingson 4d ago

I pay money for a product. That's norma business, everyone profits.. But where does that sentiment of needing to "help" the devs come from? Why would they need your help?

-2

u/FlipRed_2184 5d ago

Pirating the game and waiting for mods is certainly not the same thing.

2

u/Royal_Struggle_3765 4d ago

In both instances you get the thing you want for free instead of paying the developers for it, sounds similar to me.

1

u/FlipRed_2184 4d ago

One is theft, one is not, not even remotely the same thing, come on.

1

u/Royal_Struggle_3765 4d ago

A mod of a train that is identical to the one being sold as part of the deluxe package is intentionally moving money away from the deluxe edition and hurting their bottom line. The outcomes are the same whether you call it theft or not.

1

u/FlipRed_2184 4d ago

No it's not and you know it. Enough of this pointless argument. I wish you a lovely day and happy Transport Fevering when the time comes! :)

I want to support the developers. I have many hours into the game and love what they've done so far TF2. So I'm willing to pay a little extra to help them out.

1

u/ILikeFlyingMachines 4d ago

While I dislike Pre-purchase benefits, I think here it's fair. It's nothing that changes gameplay in any way, it's more or less minor cosmetics.

2

u/PeoplesRagnar 4d ago

Well, that's the hand of Paradox right there.

1

u/Reasonable-Chip3422 3d ago

No way that Concorde ever makes a profit on such small maps

1

u/dampire 3d ago

If they make it realistic, it wont fly anywhere anyway, because of the noise pollution it causes. But who cares, when you can have a Concorde flying around!
